Yes you're back!! I went to an interview yesterday and before that I had been watching your videos to help me.. hopefully I get the job
Best of luck with the job. There is a huge shortage of engineers at the moment.
@@savree-3d thank you!
Great video. Not seen this in this detail. Very informative and interesting. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing more content. Good to see you back
Thanks! More coming. Mostly power generation and marine engineering topics.
You're finally back!
Yep. Got a lot of content coming. Gas turbines, lifeboats, all sorts of stuff.
@@savree-3d Yay! I'm excited already 🥳
Glad to see a new video. In North America designing and engineering these are a lot less prevalent than Europe. This is amazing to see in a 3D model, I guess its basically a giant pitch propellor slapped on a turbine, in its most basic principles
I like the way you include other engineering applications to explain the complex design. thank you for you videos!
I like this video. Please keep making more videos on wind turbines Thank you!
There is a wind turbine course coming to courses.savree.com. Its about 2 hours long.
One of the best types of engineering videos I have ever seen. Specially for "visual learners" as me.
Good to see you again after almost 10 months.
More to come!
Excellent. So easy to follow. Thank you
Thanks
Good informations.Thank you)
Woohoo saVRee is back. And with some banger too, can't wait to watch the generator vid. Good work, John, as always!
Thanks!
You're back! I really love your videos and hopefully we'll see many more!
There will be many more...
Excellent video! With so many visual details. Congratulations.
Thank you so much 😀
Exactly what it says on the tin. Love it. 👍👍👍
Wow what an informative and clear visuals. Great job!
Question: what 3D software did you use to make such a video?
thank you
Would you make an in depth video about aircraft structures and airframes? As much detail as possible about about the individual parts.
We have one planned for landing gears. The model of a plane we have already, we just need to find a subject matter expert to help with the video.
@@savree-3d Im looking forward to that. I hope you can dedicate a video to the structural aluminium parts that go into making an airplane. Even the aspect of manufacturing those parts is interesting.
I loved your video❤
Instead of using power electronics to convert the variable-speed generator output into the constant grid frequency, can't they just use a CVT in the gearbox (like in Subaru station wagons and with jet engine 400 Hz constant-speed drives, which have both proven to be very reliable) controlled by communication electronics to ensure that the output shaft is at a constant frequency in sync with the grid? That way, there are fewer losses of useful energy from having fewer conversions. Also, it will make wind power have the advantage of having frequency inertia just like with conventional power plants and hydropower.
Supposed the wind is slow so you reduce the gear ratio to increase the output speed, the already weak wind is now has to work much harder, probably stalling the rotor, it's not really a good situation. Also the phase of the whole wind farm has to be in sync in other for the power from each wind turbine to merge at the substation, and the need electronic control.
Just a small note, in the animation from 0.35 and further.
The blades are turning the wrong way.
The old wind mills did turn that way.
I also forgot to mention Toyota Priuses, Honda Insights, and Chevrolet Volts, all of which also use a CVT (albeit not an unreliable belt-and-pulley one used by Nissan and VW). All of the CVTs mentioned outside of the parenthesis have also proven to be very reliable. CVTs are one of the best inventions for enabling one shaft to be constant velocity while the other is having varying velocity from a totally mechanical means. This means fewer energy losses due to not having to do power conversion with rectifier-inverter sets for example. Wind turbines should all incorporate CVTs as standard so that the generator rotor can be constant-speed just like with conventional combustion power plants and hydropower.

Hey savree, whats that software that you drag your 3d models inside?

Wind turbines are more efficient if they are built close together. You can probably work this out yourself. They can, as already said elsewhere, have aeroplane wing tips to add efficiency.
Wow
does wind turbine rotates at where the direction of the wind is
I have a question
How if I connect to the distribution Transformer for my house from the Turbine without step-up Transformer is it oky

What is the name of the software you used to draw

Nawet węgiel to energia słoneczna.
So you have non-renewable blades that get buried in land fill when they are damaged or lifed out.
Then you incur frictional loses through the gearbox.
Then you incur electrical losses through the invertor.
This is all sitting on land that may have cleared of trees/vegetation and displaced or killed animals that use large conrete footing.
Then you dig trenches or run overhead power lines to the substation where you incur more electrical losses through the transformers.
Then you dig more trenches or run more overhead power lines, usual long distances ( the longer the distance the more electrical losses through resistance), to another substation.
And if the wind isn't blowing it's all for nothing.
Or if the wing is blowing to fast it's all for nothing.
Or if it's too cold and the blades ice up it's all for nothing.
And because of that variance in supply the grid cannot rely wind turbines to cover output so traditional power generation covers base load.
Mean while which way have your power bills gone?
No explanation on needed power to start/operate wind turbine.
which is negligeable compared to what they generate
@@felixbeutin8105 so you’re relying on wind power to generate power to start the turbine before you can generate power!!…?

very informative, could you make Ukrainian subtitles. thanks best regards
