good to see you back with 748/9** type project. i've lost count the amount of times i've watched some of your videos, i'm waiting for a couple of 996 cases to come back from the vapour blaster so i can get started on a build......inevitably i'll be watching a load more of your good work! 👍👍
I've seen videos of people using a heat gun to repair fine scratches in plastics like that, can't remember who but it could be worth checking out. There is also a guy on TH-cam that sells plans to convert a cheap blast cabinet into a vapour blaster, it is as good as the extremely expensive professional units, fully recirculating, foot controls and all that good stuff lol. He made it for US$1500 I think, and with your skills you'd have no worries building it in a day I reckon 👊👍😁
Another great Video Adam with a good update of your up and coming projects.. Cant wait to see the 916 sps restoration it will be awesome i can imagine..Keep up the great work and thanks for the video..
Thanks for the update. As always we look forward to your videos. The SPS build will be interesting. Consider re-evaluating the self imposed age limit. I think you should keep racing if you have the speed. Anyway, hopefully there are a fair few events this year to attend. Everyone else will be rusty as well. Good luck
I am looking forward to the SPS build, had it sat around far too long on the promise of completing a refurbishment on it 😁 On racing retirement time will see 😏
Hi Nellie, as always great to see your videos, learn a lot from them. In case you bump into the following subjects, ill be glad to see videos with the topics: - ECUs, do you use after market ECU's, what are the considerations? - Preparing a ducati for the track, what is important what is the track restrictions? - How do you check a new Ducati that you buy? Thanks & keep the fun going, cheers!
Great to see you're back. And you are thinking of quitting racing because you're 50 yp? I am 53 and decided to start racing again after 14 years of non racing! Am preparing my 851SP3 for this, excited!
HI Jacco, with almost 23 yrs racing and lots of pots and a couple of championships its time for something new, a fellow bike racer and I are looking at car endurance racing, so will still be racing just not bouncing off tarmac in 1.5mm of leather!! 🤣🤣
Great to hear from you again :D and very excited to follow the new projects. Really dont understand the views count on your video's.. content is so good and profound, both technically and informative. Keep up the great work!
Like chucked! So the yellow one looks to be in the steep head angle position (I might be wrong but I'm just going by the damper). If it's not giving away your secrets, a video on your geometry likes and dislikes would be mega. And the 916 restore! St2 looks super.
Thanks Richard, will be covering geometry on this bike, no secrets really as this type of thing is down to personal preference as much as a base setting is good to work from.
Hi Nellie, Glad to see you back here - Always enjoy your videos and learn loads. I would be very interested to see you set up the suspension on the 748, in particular the Sag & ride heights. Also look forward to seeing how you get on with vapour blasting cabinets and how much the cost is. At the moment I'm doing all my blasting dry, and although I'm happy with the results, struggle with seeing what is going on through the almost opaque vision panel or getting covered in glass beads with the lid up - which I have to do outside. As ever many thanks. J
@@DesmoWerx Nellie, my 748 is an 'E' model, which doesn't have adjustable steering head angle. Interestingly Richard Llewellyn of Louigi Moto says that they handle better, although I didn't ask why, but would be interested to hear your thoughts on this. I may do the odd track parade on the bike, but mainly will be used for fast road work.
I'm considering campaning a 748 in vintage racing. What was your experience with the bike? Is it maintenance intensive? Did you run into any problems? Any insight would be appreciated.
Hi Steve, I found mine the easiest bikes to race and maintain at a competitive level. Use a good oil and change regularly and they are pretty much bullet proof, change the belts every other season to be safe, run tight valve clearances and check regularly. Lastly look after the clutch as they can cause all sorts of problems if not cleaned often especially if using a slipper clutch, the basket usually only lasted me a season. Finally if you drop it and its left running too long then you may excessively wear the main bearings and shorten the engine life.
Some nice projects there👍. Glad the ST2 is nearly done. You could stick some carbon protection on the panniers. I can make them. Also do you fancy doing a collaboration on my Supermono project? I need to build up the 996 engine and fit my rocker system. Email me if interested 😊
Do you ever find the oil filter vibrating loose? I have had mine loosen itself.... on my 2002 748s.. only to the point where you get a drip.... it was a genuine filter and I have since replaced with another genuine one...torqued correctly... Will see what happens when I start using it this year
Yes, basically wet media blasting, slightly less abrasive so good on delicate metals such as aluminium or where you want to limit material removal when blasting.
Excited for the 916 SPS rebuild 🤞🏼
I’m with on the 916 sps
It will be coming this year, once I have everything in place for it 😎
Nice to see that the 748 wasn't mothballed...can't wait to see more content on it... you've been a big help on my 748 ownership...
Glad that the videos are of help, plenty more to come on the 748/916 bikes this year all going well.
Love seeing all of your content on the older bikes like this.
Cheers Matt, glad you are enjoying them

Sounds like a nice little rebuild starting there then Peter, good luck 😊

Tried your idea on the pannier scratches, the smaller ones have faded away, just the deeper ones are left but it at least looks better than before 👍😎
Excellent 748 motorcycle, I've seen most of your videos and they're great and especially those of the magnificent 748
Glad you like them Antonio 😊

Watch this space Jono, planning on a full geometry set up video 😎

very interesting about panigale, beeper and abs removal
Thanks, thought it needed some TLC since I put the 1199R engine in the bike has been unloved
I'd love to see a timing and valve adjustment done on this 748 while the engine is in the frame.
I will look to see what I can do in upcoming projects, a lot of the work that comes my way is out of frame already.
Glad to hear things are on the up with work mate! Looking forward to seeing the SPS brought up to standard again
Thanks Tel, looking forward to getting back to building Ducati's again 😎
i hope watching a fully rebuild 08 R1 and explained like you've done with ducatis :D
I might look at doing another brand of bike, plenty of opportunity out there and I have built Honda's and Yamaha's before.
I'it's a 40 amp main fuse. I know because mine oxidised and left me stranded.... I kept it as a little keepsake.
Thanks, handy to know as my race bike is using a 30 amp fuse!! Will source some 40's as spares.
Love your videos man! Wery educational, keep em comin😍
Glad you like them Erik 👍😎

I have heard of it happening but not experienced it myself. This is why they have to be locked in position for racing. 😊
@@DesmoWerx mine may have to be locked for my gentle road riding 😂
is vapor blasting wet media blasting? like sand or glass bead ?
Yes, basically wet media blasting, slightly less abrasive so good on delicate metals such as aluminium or where you want to limit material removal when blasting.
@@DesmoWerx thanks, I have only seen that in large scale here in the US, I didn't know they made it in a blast cabinet like my bead blast cabinet.
