When I first heard this song I remember thinkin' "Shabazz is one of illest MC's I've ever heard". It was genius featuring him on this song. He was so blantant and RAW. I bought 6 Feet Deep on the strength of this song and was not disappointed. This group, to me, was a breath of fresh air for Hip-Hop at the time. Very creative. And all of 'em had some serious flow. Rest In Peace, POETIC!!!!
im portuguese living in Germany.. i listen to hip-hop since 1993.since i was 10...i bought this album..this is from a time where hip-hop was REALLY Hip-Hop..i miss it
Everyone tries to say it's "stab ya with a dagger OF Jacob's ladder" but its really "stab ya with a dagger UP Jacob's ladder". I been rockin this shit for 20 years, I should know. Thanks for posting the true lyrics on here Madman. Respect
The best real Hip Hop track ever....Endless respect...The instrumental is just perfect, the subject goddamn clever..WTF..Where is this Hip Hop nowadays?
The year '84, November, day 10 Overwhelmed by the wicked inspirations of an evil djinn I realize my ideas have spawned for 400 years Of blood sweat and tears I saw the torture, brutal murder of my father So my brain became stained with the horror I'm having reoccurring nightmares Of being soaking wet, strapped down to the electric chair I got tackled with handcuffs and shackled in restraint At the bottom of a holy tabernacle They gave me nothing to eat for two weeks And sewed my eye lids open so I couldn't sleep About to die from thirst, that's when the minister Quenched my jaws with a cold glass of vinegar Upon my wounds they seasoned me with salt And nailed my hands feet to the form of a cross Ahh!! I cry As the blood drips inside of my eye refusing to die Visions of Hell tormented my faith So I chewed my fucking arm off and made an escape
Goddam so many diverse styles of hip-hop back then that we all took for granted. Wu tang, grave diggaz, cypress hill, funkdoobiest, de la soul, ice cube, onyx and pharcyde to name a few. I haven't even scratched the surface of the talent pool back then.
Its horrorcore! The genre didn't exist before these guys made it! The best of a sadly short lived subgenre. I think Kool Keith briefly dabbled in it, but otherwise, its been basically taken over by the juggalos :[
Uhhh I think you're sleeping. What about Triple Six Mafia and all that other 90's Memphis horrorcore? or Jedi Mind Tricks? Flatlinerz? Necro? Gore Elohim? even new shit like Lil Ugly Mane is dope as fuck
this is what originally got me into death metal. it opened a whole new world of music for me. one of the greatest cds ever i suggest you buy/download it if you dont own it
Just cause you like old music like this, which is quality, doesn't mean you have to hate Old Future, they're talented. They don't claim to be anyone. Like both.
word, gravediggaz is where its at if you want somethin besides WuTangClan albums. Completely raw, yet smooth delivery... you tell me how that works, but it does... perfectly. Defective Trip is the best song off this album!
"You try to haunt me nigga. I aint trying hear it. Buck buck buck I give ya ass the holy spirit." Dayum Shabazz just kills it, I couldd just loop his section for eternity.
I personally think the video caputures the essence of the song and the artists. I like the way all the artists are superimposed with an object and it has a real cinematic feel.
This is my favorite from this CD. When I first bought it and ran home and listened to it I got to this one I was like oh fuck, horrorcore is my new favorite genre. I love the ghostly females singing in the background.
God damn, why can't hip hop be like this anymore? That's just how it goes, I guess, and not to say there's no good hip hop being made now, but then, with the Wu coming through, there was just this explosion of creativity, people still don't get today
the insanity case they were pleading was actually the mock trial for their previous label Tommy boy records which abandoned many of the rappers when they were wbout to make it. They abandoned Shabazz, Poetic, Killah Preist who i think got on this song. I dont know exactly who else but you get the jist. They had bad blood there with all the false promises that gives this song a deep passionate meaning, the gravediggaz were really 6 feet deep with their genius. Best group ever, no question...
gravediggaz is the best horrorcore rap group ever....i have all of their album and believe me they have rap lisence:P.....forgive me if i have mistakes
Ive always wondered what the spanish guys yelling out in the background noise for the courtroom. "Draggin they asses on a hook, by they temples!" haha, i fucking love that line.
This goes hard...another reason why early-mid 90s hip hop rules.
Forever
Yes sir!! Shit was fire and still is! They all have a very unique sound too
💯
How the fuck does anyone think drake is good when there are real hip hop artists like this!!!
👌👍
Because the majority of people are mindless drones. Why is KK a millionaire? Same reason.
Horrorcore definitely needs to make a return
yes it does
Yeah be careful what you wish for. The young-money motherfuckers running the show these days will probably ruin it forever
💯
The first Gravediggaz album was one of the few albums in which u cant skip a track. From beginning to end just straight bangers, RIP Poetic
Fucking sick Gravediggaz are one of my all time favorites God they are awesome. This is real rap little kids take notice

Prince Paul & RZA...... pure genius!!
it beats me why they had to change the name of the lp to six feet under.my copy is called nigamortis, nothing wrong with that title

Everyone tries to say it's "stab ya with a dagger OF Jacob's ladder" but its really "stab ya with a dagger UP Jacob's ladder". I been rockin this shit for 20 years, I should know. Thanks for posting the true lyrics on here Madman. Respect
The best Real Beat...........old-school Big respect
One of the best show of my life. In the proper order: Korn (debut), Biohazard, Gravediggaz & House Of Pain! Same Stage... need I say more ?
When the Wu influenced all. (RZA was a member)
Gravediggaz was a crew with Rza before Wu - Tang... Rza was known as Prince Rakim these times
The best real Hip Hop track ever....Endless respect...The instrumental is just perfect, the subject goddamn clever..WTF..Where is this Hip Hop nowadays?
R.I.P. Too Poetic.
this is one of my all time favorite. i love the gravediggaz i hope one day something like this came nowdays, im sick of todays music!!
The year '84, November, day 10
Overwhelmed by the wicked inspirations of an evil djinn
I realize my ideas have spawned for 400 years
Of blood sweat and tears
I saw the torture, brutal murder of my father
So my brain became stained with the horror

Of being soaking wet, strapped down to the electric chair
I got tackled with handcuffs and shackled in restraint
At the bottom of a holy tabernacle

And sewed my eye lids open so I couldn't sleep
About to die from thirst, that's when the minister
Quenched my jaws with a cold glass of vinegar
Upon my wounds they seasoned me with salt
And nailed my hands feet to the form of a cross
Ahh!! I cry
As the blood drips inside of my eye refusing to die
Visions of Hell tormented my faith
So I chewed my fucking arm off and made an escape
the Unfuckwitable hard shit
Marc Bathon

"I've been examined ever since I was seamen
They took a sonogram and seen the image of a demon"
Aaaahhh, the good ol days when hip hop was creative.
They got it right when they said the devil came out hell and in a Islamic temple he dwell
Goddam so many diverse styles of hip-hop back then that we all took for granted. Wu tang, grave diggaz, cypress hill, funkdoobiest, de la soul, ice cube, onyx and pharcyde to name a few. I haven't even scratched the surface of the talent pool back then.

Rza's verse is the very definition of a REAL verse
He murked this cut
Just cause you like old music like this, which is quality, doesn't mean you have to hate Old Future, they're talented. They don't claim to be anyone. Like both.

"You try to haunt me nigga. I aint trying hear it. Buck buck buck I give ya ass the holy spirit." Dayum Shabazz just kills it, I couldd just loop his section for eternity.
One of the best albums ever!! A rare album where every track is top notch!

Back in the days when Rap and hip hop was creative, I love old skool rap!!!
Stands the test of time... Gravediggaz the realest!
This brings me back to the days where rap music didn't suck.
I personally think the video caputures the essence of the song and the artists. I like the way all the artists are superimposed with an object and it has a real cinematic feel.
the people that dont like this are scared of the lyrical content.
but this is just pure concept emceeing

@CEEPMDEE I liked Shabazz, to me that is one of my favourite verses of all time.
"givin niggaz brain dimples....draggin their asses on a hook by their temples"
these ryhmes are dark and twisted yet so incredible and inspiring
no point hating on different artists within the same genre, they're all good at their own thing.

God damn, why can't hip hop be like this anymore? That's just how it goes, I guess, and not to say there's no good hip hop being made now, but then, with the Wu coming through, there was just this explosion of creativity, people still don't get today
