Even so, Shuri is not the queen because she did not want to (from what I understood when I saw the movie, since Shuri did not attend the coronation and M'baku offered himself as the new leader) and i guess she will continue to be a princess until T'Challa Jr grows up and assumes the throne.

@@rivervixens06 Something I still can't understand is why no one told Shuri about the existence of T'Challa Jr. Ramonda knew. So why was it never mentioned that she had a nephew? I know that in the movie it is mentioned that Nakia was trying to communicate with Shuri (I suppose to tell her about it), but before T'Challa got sick and died they could tell her, apart from the fact that it was a secret, Shuri would not have forced them to take the child to Wakanda, if she is the least traditional member of the family.
This would have to be hands down, the most somber movie of the MCU. I remember watching this in theaters, and everyone was crying more than laughing. 😢

I once heard that the guy who wrote the plot of Black Panther 2 originally wrote it after the 1st film was released. However, because of Boseman's death he rewrote the story to be about Suri dealing with the aftermath of losing her brother.

Yeah, t'challa discovers he had a son with nakia after 5 years for thanos's snap, I think that would be taken in quantumania about the lost time with scott and cassie

Loved these parallels. Right down to Nakia saying to Toussaint: "Your father prepared us for his death."... in reference to what T'Chaka said to T'Challa in the first movie: "A man who has not prepared his children for his death, has failed as a father." They definitely worked to make sure that T'Challa as a character was honored truly. Such a great tribute to Chadwick, as well as a great passing-of-the-torch story/development for Shuri. It really was heartbreaking seeing her go through the emotional ringer in this movie, which is such a contrast to her kid wisecracking sidekick role in the first flick.
Civil War, Black Panther, & Wakanda Forever each held to story about vengeance and what you do with it. Each Black Panther (T'Challa, N'Jadaka, Shuri) set off to bestow vengeance. Each Black Panther in the end has to make a choice. T'Challa stepped away from his vengeance, no longer letting it consume him. N'Jadaka let it consume him completely. With two path presented in front of her, in the midst of her various grievances, Shuri, the new Black Panther, had to make a choice. Between two paths that were already laid out in front of her. Looking at the past to obtain answers of the future. To take the path of T'Challa or N'Jadaka. I love how it all connected storytelling wise. These three movies gave us 3 Black Panthers, 3 mindsets, 3 similar stories, but we get 3 different paths, but they all intertwine...

You have to understand that the Queen was at her breaking point...she lost her husband....lost her son...had to run a grieving nation while the world doesn't give a crap but only vibranium and potentially losing her daughter to another rising threat. She was very hesitant to let Shuri go but reluctantly did after Okoye promised that it would be ok, which it didn't, and that trust was broken. She was not having it.

And I’m top of that she stayed by killmonger side. Okoye is loyal and a good general but the Queen was within her right
I loved this movie, it's a great tribute to Chadwick Boseman and it also gives us a great introduction to Namor and the world of Talokan

3:23 They promised to share resources with the rest of the world, they never promised to send vibranium to other countries. They said to help those who need help, not to hand materials that can be used as weapons to those in power who don't need help and have no need for weapons.
Namor is without question the best and most empathetic villain since Zemo in Civil War. So pumped to see a Mexican actor portraying someone important and a mutant on top of it. Excited to see his future.
He's a anti hero not a villain.

You can see the similarities, especially since what Shuri said to him about vengeance parallels what T’Challa said to Zemo at the end of Civil War.

I really enjoyed the use of prehispanic/mesoamerican culture, as a Mexican myself it was nice to hear traditional Aztec instruments in the soundtrack, for example in every scene the talokans attack you can hear an Aztec death whistle which is something Aztecs used in war to intimidate their enemies, it sounds like an eerie scream, truly horrifying...
The opening instantly reminded me of how sad and heartbroken I was when I found out about Chadwick’s death. I was sad again when I saw the opening scene.

Best Marvel Movie of 2022. It had it all: action, great visual effects, some humor, terrific score, amazing story and honoring Chadwick. Shout out to Angela Bassett for her incredible performance and Oscar nomination. 👏👏👏
Ryan coogler originally wrote this to be a father son between t challa and his son. But after Chadwick passed away he decided to change it to be about shuri and her dealing with grief.
This movie was very emotional, yet very powerful
This is where the fun begins! I love this movie! All the actors and actress were incredible! Especially Angela Bassett! Plus, Namor was great! I'm also satisfied with some of the changes! Regardless, hope you like it 🙏🏽
I really enjoyed it, I think Tenoch did a fantastic job as Namor, and... the soundtrack is AWESOME, all the songs are in my playlist, instrumental and lyrical
That Talocan scene was just beautiful. One of the best MCU film out there. Say all you want about Phase 4 but the same Phase produces Wakanda Forever and Shang-Chi two of the best MCU films.
This is one of the best Marvel movies hands down. It's honestly heartbreaking. Also, in my cinema, as soon as I got my phone out to record the Post Credit Scene, I just saw everyone else do the same thing 😂
Probably but I think Guardians of the Galaxy vol3 will take the crown as the most heartbreaking

@Jorge Cabezas I was one of the first, yes. But Wakanda Forever was something special. It had more weight to it because thr main actor passed away. Not just the character.

Namor is one of the first characters created by Marvel, he was created in 1939, he is the first mutant created by Marvel. Originally he came from Atlantis, his father was a navy captain and his mother was an Atlantean. does it sound familiar to you? well basically it's the character that DC was inspired to create Aquaman (which was created in 1941).

Amazing storyline honestly. Didnt expect to have more than one funeral and Killmonger's 'return'. Also fighting Namor using their wits was the best choice since he was stronger. Mid-credit scene was perfect.
Introducing namor in this movie was a great choice. He is already one of the best characters in the mcu.

Gone but NEVER forgotten
It was completely silent as the Marvel title sequence began with the tribute to Chadwick when I saw this in theaters. The only thing you could hear was people crying, and this is one of the few scenes that have made me tear up in the MCU.
I just happen to live in Chadwick’s hometown of Anderson, South Carolina. this man has done soo much for the local communities & kids down here. Wakanda Forever, My King 🤴🏿🙅🏼♂️🍻

I totally agree! I see Shuri as BP (maybe until Prince T’Challa can be the new BP) and M’Baku being the leader/king and I think that’s what the movie is implying. M’Baku deserves the throne. He’s a great tribe leader.
I love this movie. I just rewatched for like the 6th time and I still get emotional. Also, the conflicts in this movie and the first one are similar to my country's current situation.

I prefer the first one, the second one does what the first one did greatly but killmonger raises the movie than namor.

I was so hyped when I saw Killmonger on the throne in theaters.
I fought back tears at the theater. The entire room was silent during the logo and final scenes.
I wasn't expecting Okoye to be fired, the queen to die, or Shuri to refuse the throne. Also, I hope to see more of Namor in future movies.
The ironic part is that with what they learn of Namor later in the movie, the heater is actually a semi effective weapon, lol.

I remember everyone in the cinema being really hyped, then the movie started and it got so quiet so fast. Couldn't even hear anyone dare to shift in their seat until after the title.
Fun fact: The daggers the woman had in the comics were made for T'Challa.

I saw this movie last year. Also, I’m looking forward to seeing ant man and the wasp quantumania as the beginning of MCU phase 5 as Wakanda forever as the end of phase 4.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever created so much excitement and absolutely delivered with it’s fun action, cool costumes, strong visuals, pleasant music, decent villian, a badass new title character, and best of all, it serves as an respectful and emotional tribute to Chadwick Boseman.
The second Black Panther movie made me cry, but I did enjoy it. I love the actions, drama and surprises. It even showed the dedication of Chadwick Boseman. I really missed him, but his legacy will live on forever. WAKANDA FOREVER!!! #RIPLegend

I was under the impression that only those with the royal bloodline (ie Shuri/T'Challa/their ancestors/etc) can take the herb. I thought that was the reason why nobody else in Wakanda even attempted to take it, like,, it'll probably kill them if they did. Also, the ancestral plane is only filled with Shuri's ancestors so it would make sense that the next Panther in line is T'challa junior.

There are so many positive things I want to say about Wakanda Forever, but I’ll just say that it was an amazing sequel to Black Panther! Probably my second favorite Phase 4 MCU film, after Spider Man: No Way Home. One of the best MCU movie theater experiences I’ve had so far. Emotional and empowering.

The Queen also stripped Okoye of rank because of what happened in the last movie where she initially backed Kilimonger and not T’Chala. Yeah she did reserve the decision but the Queen probably still holds that against her.
It was a great and emotional movie. I was expecting the story will be connected to the Egyptian gods from Moon Knight (or to the Eternals via Namor). I hoped Bastet will show up with a new avatar.

The reason why Shuri doesn't make a bunch of those flowers for everyone to take is because it's dangerous for people not in her bloodline. The flower will kill most people. Anyone can't just take the flower.
Those midnight angel suits are literally designed exactly like they are in the comic books. So I'm not sure why people have an issue with it. The midnight angels are the best of the best from the Dora Miyagi
