I understand!!!!! It's so funny when they start to follow me!!!! With feet it's the hard thing to get across in the videos - but having wet feet all the time isn't super fun!!! I probably should have tried out some waterproof socks!!
So nice to know you had a nice relaxing day and a bottle of wine on my birthday 🎉 That beach was very intriguing with all the wood. And that accommodation at the end was super cute! Just started listening to your podcasts. 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 It was a lovely, relaxing day, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Hope you had a super HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!. The beach was definitely unique with all that driftwood. ! I’m so happy you’re enjoying the podcast too! 🎧 Let me know if you are looking for any particular type of adventure or challenge and I can give you some recommendations. Your support means the world to me! 💕THANK YOU!!!!
@toughgirlchallenges Thanks. I love solo hiking but have only done day hikes in the past, except when I did the Cape to Cape multi day hike self guided but with a company. This year I'm challenging myself to camp as there are so many multi days I want to do but it's too expensive to go with a company. I'm also planning to do some of New Zealand's Great Walks with my son in Jan 2026 and head to UK in 2027 to do a couple of the National Trails. I'm particularly keen on the Cleveland Way. Would love to do the uk ones with a tent.
@@flatandsplat That sounds like an amazing journey you’re planning! The Cape to Cape is such a great intro to multi-day hikes, and I think it’s awesome that you’re challenging yourself to camp more-it really opens up so many opportunities to explore at your own pace. If you’re new to camping, it might help to ease into it by setting up camp in your garden or a local campsite first, just to get familiar with your gear and the routines. Going with friends for the first few trips can also make it less daunting and a lot more fun. Once you’re comfortable, solo camping becomes such a rewarding experience. The Great Walks in New Zealand will be such a fantastic adventure, especially sharing it with your son. And heading to the UK for the National Trails sounds like a dream! The Cleveland Way is absolutely beautiful, and camping along the trails will give you a real sense of freedom. Wishing you all the best with your adventures-sounds like 2026 and 2027 are going to be unforgettable!
I hear you - it's so bad and people just don't know - because it's not shared or talked about. You do have hikers who walk every mile and fair play to them. I didn't feel safe doing that - it felt so dangerous walking on these roads. I hope the vlogs and videos show people what they can expect on this thru -hike - as it's not a thru hike in the traditional sense of the word.
Sorry but I can't help laughing every time the cows see you!!! I do worry about your wet feet so happy to see a change of socks on the way!
