I bought Orange Tab 512’s from ‘92 today, and I don’t see any drop in quality. The stitching and construction is rock solid, with really nice rivets all around. Thing is, the denim is twice as thick as anything I’ve ever worn, more than my denim jacket. I don’t know the weight of the fabric but it’s definitely a heavyweight denim. Crazy quality compared to today.
Wow. Went home and my mom gave me some Levis left there and realized I have an orange tab of 565 jeans that I've always loved! So cool

I actually found a pair of dead stock 646s in 30x34 (my size). I bought them immediately because it’s super hard to find my size in Levi’s bells (especially as good as these ones). I’m extremely happy!

Just got into collecting denim and I found two orange tab Levi's, the jacron on the back is black with silver lettering and they have an inside patch saying "611" levi's fit guide and another saying "686" with the same saying. Trying to date them and figure out if their authentic or not

I found some orange tab Levi's jeans, but with no Levi's patch on the rear belt line. And also in the inner white care tag it has. Black batwing Levi's on it.. made in Guatemala. Oh and it has a yellow stapled tag on the front button hole with numbers 4493. Tried to research but couldn't find nothing.
It was still a quality line, it was just built for fashion instead of rugged working...💯✔

I believe they are straight leg, but slimmer. I could be wrong, i have found them once and I unfortunately don’t recall the cut style.

I have spent a great deal of time watching and reading about Levis. However after all that I still can't determine what I found a couple weeks ago. I think they were produced in sept of 97 but not sure. They also have a logo tag and not the levis tag along with a made in USA paper tag. Is there any way you guys might know their value?

i have a pair of orange tabs w the bat wing under the left pocket, however there is no back patch on the pants at all, i was wondering if there was any info on this, or if this is normal for orange tabs ?
This isn’t unusual. In fact, some orange tab jeans didn’t get a back patch in the first place, though it’s more common that the patch was removed. On the back side of the batwing logo tag there should be a 5 digit number followed by a 4 digit number, example: 20505-2117. The last three digits of the 5 digit number is the style number and the last 4 is the color code. So in my example the jeans would be 505s.
Check the back of the care tag for that number and it should tell you what kind of jeans they are.

I just found a pair of Levi's in my attic. I cannot find them on line anywhere, but I think you held up a pair. Mine have no patch, no rivets, orange tab with only the "R". They clearly Never had a patch. Do you know anything about this?

Just found a pair of Levi’s 540 brown tab (small e) made in 2000. Any info you could give me on those would be greatly appreciated
The 540 was a “jeans for men” product offered in lower end big box stores like walmart. It’s unfortunately not very in demand or rare. I have a ton of them i honestly wish i never bought haha.

i recently went thirft shopping and found an orange tab levis jeans but what caught my eyes on these specific pair was that it had two orange tab levis tabs. On the right and the left? Are these fake or real? And what does it mean to have two orange tabs? if anyone know please inform me thank you.
snagged a pair of orange tabs for a decent price in a local vintage shop. they were noted as bell bottoms, but seem to me to be more like western flairs. they have a small Levi Strauss and Co leather tag, approx 1.5" x .5", sewn directly on the back pocket and not near the typical belt line, and they have a Levi's for men label sewn on the inside pocket bag. Also, they don't have the typical thread pattern on the back pockets. They have two rows and the top row has a v shape in it towards the outer edge on both pockets. They are super comfortable and fit really well, so any help identifying what they are would be really appreciated.

Sometimes levis did some funky stuff to older orange tab jeans. So it’s not completely out of the question.

I have a pair of orange tab Levi's. The print is worn off of the labels. The only word I can make out is "loose". Would you know the number?
I believe it’s probably a 960. The orange tab variant of the 560 which was the loose style.
Saw a pair of Levi's that piqued my interest. They're a pair of Orange Tab 505 0917 from 1979. But I don't know how I feel about Poly-Cotton blends. Are they considered worthwhile investments?
Not generally. In flare or bellbottom form they do decent, but not really in the straight leg designs. If it's cheap enough I'd pick it up. Thanks for watching!

It just means it was made in Belgium typically. Levis had European factories and by and large they produced the same or similar products as the American ones.

I bought an orange tab 634 for only $8 here in the Philippines. I saw on its label that it was Made in Canada in 1992. Good condition and 100% cotton. is the orange tab vintage? is it worth it? is the 634 unisex?
Josh, I have a pair of Levi's white tab, Made in Hong Kong. I am thinking they are 60's, they are women's. I can only find information regarding the white tab used in the 60's and 70s, and they were sold at Miltary bases. Can you give me any information to help me out. Thank you in advance.

might seem like a silly question but... what is the difference between a pair of 20505 and 40505 orange tab levi's... both are usa made 505s with orange tabs
So this is a topic of some debate. It seems like at different times the fore numbers to the lot number meant different things. 20 was mostly men’s jeans. 40 sometimes seems to have meant women’s or student sizes. But it’s not entirely clear to me yet.

No doubt, they were generally considered cheaper lower quality jeans and many denim heads still believe that.
I found a pair of blank orange tab Levi’s but I had only heard about blank red tabs. Would love to know if these are real and if this is something they did with the orange tab as well!
Certainly was! This was done the protect the copy right on the tab and not just the letters on the tab. Great find!

@@unbornvassily4048, I believe that 550s in orange tab were only made for men and the 550 in men's doesn't' do too great. If it's a small size a woman might buy it either way but I'd put a range of 15-35 if you wait for the right buyer.

I have a pair of orange tab little levis size 0 18"w 9.5"L and I haven't sewn another pair. These specific jeans have been worn by over 20 babies and are still going strong lol.

@LootFam absolutely!! My mom bought them in 1983 for my brother's first birthday, and after he outgrew them, they got passed around. Every child in the family has worn them, and they still look good. No fraying or tears or even thinning of the denim. Levi's made some quality jeans lol

Unlikely fake, they are probably just women’s jeans as levis didn’t include size on the back tag of womens jeans for a while.

Generally speaking, if they are made in Canada that is a sign they are vintage. Levis' moved production largely out of Canada sometime after the passing of NAFTA. Unfortunately, if your jeans are made in Canada the format of the care tags is different from the USA versions and don't always follow the same decoding format.

I actually just bought an orange tag levis sherpa jacket from ebay. I have a size 38 chest and went with a size 40 since the sherpa will take up room. (I hope anyway) Hope I made the right choice. And seeing as I'm only 5'4" 150-155lbs I went with a small. So it's a small 40. I also bought another from the 70s without the front hand warming pockets that is a size 38 s. But for some reason the person is not accepting my payment which is why I bought the orange tab. I really want one plus this will help me find my fit. I like how the arms are wider on the older jackets since I have more muscular arms so that will help. On my non sherpa modern levis jean jacket I got a medium and it's just not as snug as I'd like and the arms are too tight for my liking. Makes the jacket feel and fit weird. Imo anyway. So I'm hoping a small with the wider arms will be a good fit! I can send you a few pics if you'd like. Let me know how I did lol. Thanks for the videos man! Big help!

How do the late 90s made in Mexico pairs compare to the US counterpart?
Honeslty, i don’t personally feel the quality shift until early 00s. For the most part the Mexican levis are pretty good up into the early 00s

Anyone know anything about 615-02 or 630-02 orange tab models? They are so strange and i cant find any information about them. Are they even original Levis jeans? Soo so strange ones. Even their back patch have the "Original Jeans" text instead of "Original Riveted".
They are styles that were made internationally. The switch between Jeans and Riveted was made because Levi's didn't believe that international buyers would understand the word Riveted. So they replaced it with "jeans" instead. One of the primary markers of a pair of Levi's for international sale. I got a pair of 550 orange tab from eBay and I was wondering the age of them. They have the care instruction tag inside so I know they are post 1970, but the size is "husky" 36x29.5, and I'm not sure when they started doing the "husky" sizes.
Husky was a term typically used on jeans for male teenagers. They made sizes that would fit adults too, but they were designed for teenagers. First I heard of the term used on care tags was in the mid 90s. It’s possible they used the terms on adult jeans, but I’ve only ever found the term on youth sizes. Thanks!

Yes, they did! It’s not a very common style, but i have seen it out there. Levis has made lots of different style lots numbers. I’m still finding some that i’ve never seen before.
