How the RVOL Relative Volume Indicator can Improve your Trading Strategies | Part 6

  • The RVOL Relative Volume indicator can completely revolutionize the way that volume data is interpreted within trading strategies. It compares the current volume of an asset at the current time to the previous volume at that time of day on previous days. This facilitates a comparison of volume to ascertain what trader commitment is to the associated price move. In turn, when interpreted correctly this can help to turn the probabilities more in your favor when making trading decisions.

    Great video as always! i have never seen this indicator and after a quick search i could not find it on the internet ( i am only finding volumes indicator with MAs slapped on them), are you planning on maybe sharing it after the series is over or is it something proprietary?

    In other blogs, RVOL is defined as the (current bar V)/(average V over n bars). In this video is(current bar V)/(average V on the same bar in day over n days). Both look resonable for me. Am I right about the calculation?

    Will you be including an episode on volume patterns at price levels (y-axis) as well as volume patterns at time periods (x-axis) that you have discussed so far?

      Hi Daniel. It's not something I have considered before. Could you provide a little more information and rationale so I am sure I understand please.

    Hello, one of this indicator's parameter's setting is 1.25 and it can't be changed. Besides, could you add an alert to this?

    After the second video of the series i coded a simplified version of the RVOL for one of my EAs, but seeing the RVOL... that's really cool stuff. Any idea where to get it?

    • @RenePatrique
      @RenePatrique 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check the Pine Script here on the page for the logic of the RVOL - if you want to use it in MetaTrader you'd need to re-code it for that platform: zenandtheartoftrading.com/indicators/volume/
