I tattooed my wife again this weekend I went out the comfort zone and did fine line script. I used a 3rl and turned the voltage down so I could sculpt the script as well as run small lines and my control was much greater than with high voltage. I took my time and my wife loved it and her work friends all want one. I was happy with it also my question - Is working low voltage ok if it helps with my ability? It took me 1 hour n 30min which is quite a long time for fine line work of this size. Just worried that working low voltage as much as possible isnt the right way. You can see clip of the tattoo on my videos (side of lower leg) . Cheers chris
@@andyhowden7655 don’t worry about how long it takes to do something at this stage. Concentrate on getting the best quality you can. Working at a lower voltage is legit, so don’t worry, you may find it better for you to work at lower voltages.
@ChrisRavage cheers, ive been back down to the local studio n going for a proper chat Saturday. Working at home relaxed n at lower voltage has given me much more confidence for the fine like work which was my big fear.
I know that generally question's on voltage are bullshit because its dependent on how you work. But ive been hearing that for a rotary machine the voltage controls both the speed and power of the machine together. As in how hard it hits when i thought this was just the stroke that effected the power/hit? Also when my mahcine is on on my needles look like there are slowly moving in and out of the cartridge tip and its weirding me out, is it an illusion? Or you not experience this before? Ps thanks for the video.
@@andyhowden7655 higher stroke machines are generally more powerful at the base, but stroke doesn’t determine power. Stroke determines the amount of pigment collected and deposited in one full rotation.
@ChrisRavage so like being hit by a heavy truck moving slowly. Would be like using a machine with a powerfull base machine running at a slow voltage? And a being hit by a speeding sports car is like a shorter stroke with a higher voltage? Sorry if I'm making a right fucking meal out if this. I'm a very slow learner 😔
Just enough dude, easy to absorb, 😎 chillin. ❤

great video chris

@@andyhowden7655 the hardest hitting machine can be very soft at the correct voltage so your analogy is a great way of thinking about it
@ChrisRavage Cheers Chris 👍
