Haha, I laughed when Meg said "Classic girl response. I'll do it, but I'll do it with attitude." and Freddy just says "That's a bit like you." 😂 I love when Meg's guests are not afraid to joke around like that. Great video, Meg! And thank you to Freddy for these cool behavioral tips! 💕
I love seeing people teaching their horses. Basically, every video I've seen of training horses how to load or whatnot has been the same idea or pressure and release. I'm always amazed at how it's such a simple concept, but so valuable in helping horses understand. Seeing how a horse grows in their understanding is just so rewarding.
Another extremely helpful training video! I always learn a thing or two from every video. Thank you! You are soooo lucky to have access to so many talented trainers. ❤
I start by using pressure and release until the understanding is there, and then I switch to r+ which is adding something positive when the correct answer is given, or taking something nice away when the wrong response is offered
@@AtLast796if you’re talking about pressure and release, taking the pressure away is nice and rewarding for the horse, is a clear, timely and concise way to tell them that’s exactly what was desired and also mimics herd behaviour. It’s how horses communicate with eachother, so speaking to your horse in the same way other horses do is more comfortable for them, especially when first introducing them to a training environment😊 If you’re talking about taking something nice away when they offer the incorrect response, then yeah. That isn’t positive reinforcement. That’s telling them they didn’t do the right thing. That’s a negative reinforcement, but not abuse. None of those methods are abuse or even bad for the horse for that matter.
taking nice things away is negative punishment according to the four quadrants 😊. r+ adding nice thing to reinforce and increase a behaviour, r- removal of bad thing to reinforce and increase a behaviour (what they are using mainly in this video), p+ addition of something bad to punish and decrease a behaviour, p- removal of something nice to punish and decrease a behaviour
Was i the only one amused by how many times winnie felt the need to make meg clean up after freddie announced poo girl 😅 ino she was alittle nervous but i was having a good giggle at it ❤
GREAT vlog!!! Learned alot,! Thank you! Wilma seems to have the best of her two breeds!! I feel you have an incredible new partner for your XC aspirations. Go Meg & Wilma. Jam will always be the precious mare she is, I'm sure, with many of us, your followers. Stay safe. 💙🐎😎
It's -38°C here with the wind chill, we just had a 60 cm dump of snow. It could get down to -50° with the wind chill this weekend. Sorry Meg, I laughed aloud when you said "freezing!" 😂
@@lemonladyYT no, i can hear that meg is telling about this 3,5T and dont forget that esme higgs box has a kitchen, zinc, table, bed, gaztank extra. I think that esme her box is larger.
@@lemonladyYT i checked it again and meg says: i'm lucky to have this 3,5T horsebox. I think that this one she has in the meantime they are making her own box. She talked about this in a previous video, but i think that it's like that, but not 100% sure🤔 so this purple one is only 3,5 T.

Hi megan any advice for breaking in a young horse would be much appreciated because i have a young thourbread also you deserve to have all these opportunities you have xx
In a racing and show yard we keep the trailer and lorry by the yard and every young or new horse is quietly allowed to go in and out almost daily as part of work. Never have trouble at events
I notice Wilma really does not like to stand with contact and turns around and gets frustrated so tries to nip at the rider’s foot. Did Freddie give you any tips for that? Don’t want that become a bad habit.
Hi Megan, I addmeryou for this ,AND I have been watching YOU at talland ,AND I remember having lung lessons once a month. And IT was so hard work NO raens And NO stirrups. And doing exercises ALL makes better balloons .Take care all and all the best. 😄😄😄👍👍👍
I know he's a professional but you'd think he would want to wear a hat, if nothing more then to set a good example for less experienced people who will watch this!

Haha so true
All about pressure and release, giving her a moment to understand she's safe. Good job! 🎉🐴

I’m really thinking that Freddy needs to release his own training vlogs! Would love to watch him more ❤
Yes he's so good at his job
Winnie is the best. I just love her. So much potential with Jammy’s willingness and scope, and such a friendly temperament.
Jammy : “ I wanna be in the video!!!!”
* gallops up * “I’m ready for my close up “
😄 good learning winny and Wilma interesting vid 😊🐎
I just love Winnie! She is very much my mare’s twin in looks and personality. Can’t wait to see her out competing!
Freddy is amazing with horses, love watching how he connects to them and always feel like I learn something.

I have taught my pony to present to the mounting block in the same way . Fantastic. I love the groundwork. So rewarding ☺️

I think I'd be just spooked enough about the horse exploding or something bad happening I wouldn't be able to be consistent or keep the horse calm.
Give that poor man a tissue, please 😂

Steve Young is worth watching.
Sometimes I really wish there wasn't music in the background. It's unnecessary. The content is so brilliant, it speaks for itself!
Great information - what size is your spruce lemieux coat -
SO glad you are torking about somthing new. And sharing your journey. Take care all. And all the best for your next edvencher. 😊😊😊👍👍👍👍

Two very different mares. Winnie is a dominant sass and Wilma is a bit dull currently but get her thinking for herself and you’ll be winning.
