I can see it now. Imagine the guard is working at Sora’s Frightfur Factory. The main four would probably be Frightfur Bear, Frightfur Leo, Frightfur Tiger and Frightfur Wolf. Frightfur Sheep would be like Balloon Boy, but it slightly damages you. The two that you would worry about the most are Frightfur Sabertooth and Frightfur Chimera.
Wow, the English release was toned waaaayyy down. The musical score and voice acting in the original Japanese version are far superior, and Sora actually sounds like a genuinely demented kid.

While I've only watched the subbed version, from what I read, the dub does do one thing that makes the scene effective and it's that up until Sora's reveal, the music and tone of the duel is played like any standard duel but then once he does reveal himself, the music becomes darker and more atmospheric so if that's true, then at least it got that right by making it feel like shit just got real.

He should’ve stayed like this throughout the series imo. He would’ve been a very persistent, yet intriguing enemy to the protagonists. Plus, he also should’ve held his extreme hostility towards XYZ users. Imagine a duel against him and Yuya who just learned XYZ after unlocking his Berserk State.
Yeah the writers messed up his character by making him join the good guys. I saw his character/story arc going like this, sora would stay evil spend the rest of the series playing mind games with shun until their inevitable rubber match where shun defeats him and sora being so salty about losing to shun ( an xyz user) that he cards himself much like Denise did.

One of my friends also plays Fluffals/Frightfurs because of Arc V. It worked well for him because they've been pretty good in tournaments so far this year.
This is just so great! The way how throughout the whole duel, it took a darker tone, with showing how Sora's cards made kids cry and all that, there was something that made me feel like something was wrong. Then boom, Sora shows his true colours upon showing this terrifying monster. Just awesome

This show might've sucked overall, but man the like 15-20 episodes that was this arc was absolutely fantastic. It's such a whiplash for the viewer to experience genuinely good writing and action only to be thrown into horrible fanfiction after it.
Anyone else think it's kind of weird that Sora's "ace" monster, which is the hardest to summon (requiring 3 fusion monsters, or using spells/traps to make non-frightfurs frightfurs), one of the most underwhelming? Like, 2800 ATK is puny compared to the ATK boosting you can get from Sabertooth or Tiger, and even Daredevil outclasses it on our ATK points. Hell, Nightmary might even have more ATK on summon given the right set up.
I mean, being able to special summon any monster it destroys and also still be able to use their abilities (minus any that involve detaching materials from XYZ monsters) is pretty decent
Remember in the manga where Sora was the bad guy all because he wanted to bring his sister back from the dead? Instead in the anime, we get this little piece of shit who doesn't care about who he hurts and just causes pain and suffering for the fun of it - making him more of a sick bastard than the most infamous antagonist from Arc-V, - The Doktor - Yuri, and even Yami Bakura.
Even marik who only wanted to kill atem by killing yugi only wished to do so to free his people from their duty of living to protect their Pharaohs secrets. And he only grew his dark side due to the continuous abuse he received from his father which ended up making him kill his father by carving the flesh off of his back
Even though I really like japanese dub Sora, I dont like that his archetype is litterally just named.... Death Toy. I mean how creative, make it creepy and add death to it. Frightfur sounds cooler.
This fight and Shun vs Dennis were the most intense one. Shun is my favorite character, his tragic backstory is so well written resonates perfectly with his behaviour. I liked Arc-V a lot in general because they really went with the dark personalities again. This series is soo much better compared to the two series which came after it...

Uh, the whole show foreshadowed Sora coming around, it was too telegraphed if you would ask (by the Synchro season). For starters, Sora was supposed to spy *Reiji* but decided against it because he was wowed by Yuya

He would have been better and if he stayed evil and then Yuya dueled him in the Fusion Dimension AND then he bacomes good again

Probably, but it's also because the holograms in Arc-V were little bit too real, so an explosion might cause some injuries.
the solid vision used on the duels make all the parafernalia like the stages and monsters real in a way. so duelists can receive real damage.

They really fucked up Sora’s character. He was evil before they travaled dimensions and he returns to Academia and then he comes back in the Synchro Dimension like: hey guys, Im not evil anymore... He would have been better and if he stayed evil and then Yuya dueled him in the Fusion Dimension AND then he bacomes good again
