Back in the 1980's, in Germany, they would add combat arms NCO's to go along with lower enlisted MP's to man up their ranks and help cool down situations when military personnel tried to throw their rank around during incidents. I respected them a lot more after seeing what they go through daily and can understand why some might develop an attitude dealing with the people they have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. Best part was, when the situation became hands on, we were not trained like they were so we could do what we had to end to conflict. Get to get in knock down, drag out brawls with no punishment afterwards. Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

@@bigvaxmeanie925 Are you talking about Florida? If so not true. Some Florida agencies allow 20 years and out, or with the state or sheriffs office you can retire at 25 or 30 years.
And do not expect your experience as an MP to completely translate to a civilian cop. Two totally different things. I did both and in my opinion, the MP experience was a waste of time. Departments also do not care if you have MP experience as well. MP, cook, infantry, pilot...all still get the same amount of points on a civil service entrance exam.
Thankyou both 🇺🇲🇮🇱. Im 28 now if I dont meet the deadline for the Marines then it looks like I will be going Army. Always wanted to he a Marine since 2010 to be a Sniper then years later started considering Army and MOS either MP, Infantry, Paratrooper, Medic. If full active with a career I would have to go Ranger.
If you always wanted to be in law enforcement then you should have gone into law enforcement lol Everyone knows an 18 yr old kid with an mp velcro patch is not a real police officer.
nobody said they are genius. Their jobs serve different purposes. A young person with zero experience in anything can’t just get hired on as a police officer 😂 this and military in general is a good stepping stone. Countless veterans do this
One day I will be an American Soldier and American Hero like You all I will wear that beautiful uniform I will leave art and painting I will be an American Soldier.🥰😍🤗❤🤍💙💯

Dude when I was in I spent half my career avoiding these dudes or laughing at them at the gate
Always there to give speeding tickets to every broke E1 for rolling stops at signs with zero other cars or going 5 mph over the limit more like.
You hit the nail on the head with that one!
that officer was actually really cool!
Do this from age 18 to 38 then be a civilian cop 38 to 58.
I was planning on it. Double pension ?

@Beetsbert230 38 to 63 actually. Or 68 in Florida. Cops here don't get a pension until 30 years

I’m 28 now. Will be 29 in February. Going for Marine MP. Full send!
I wouldn't know. I was a strictly combat MP.
The only good kind of MP
31 Bravo ? Back in 71 to 74 the MOS was 95B.
Imagine that... things have changed in the intervening *half a century* . 🙄
Hell yea I ship out Jan 6 - 31 bravo 🙏🏽
You got this! Keep your eye on the 🏆.
The public sees you as the “bad guy”? Do they? What kind of question is that?
Noone in the military likes mps
I was too good at not getting caught, so MPs never bothered me
Hell Yeah SFC Harper
count me in
So what I gathered from this is that 31B handle traffic accidents. This was terrible.
I love 31b but everyone gives this MOS a bad rep
