Many AMT kits are older, and for their age are excellent kits, however, they would benefit from a redraw of the instructions... I have to agree with you there... otherwise I love AMT kits.... I just turned 60 and have been building them since I was about 7 or 8 ..... many of the parts are probably also reused from mulit-versions of the model over the years... the VW kit may have come in several guises over the years with some parts from their other VW kits reused... so some of the parts may be unused... Dragon models uses tank parts over and over, sometimes they have whole sprues of parts that you might use one or two from! Sectioning bodies is pretty common in custom cars like the Coke VW.... in real life people will often use a 4-door 55 Chevrolet, and cut out the rear two doors then weld the body / frame back together.. I don't like it, but it was a fad... the scales of the two VWs likely are the same but the one you built represents a shortened body or "altered wheel base" VW ... .....
Agreed. I give amt a hard time and mostly stand by what I say but I have grown to appreciate them. Yes the VW cars are the same scale but the coke VW was cut down. For the record I have done some really good amt kits and will say that in any video I do. Actually the current series on the Tyrone Malone truck is a great amt kit with really only 1 flaw.
This is a Round 2 model isn't it? They add a new box tires and decals and everything else is the same crappy kit from the 70's. Round 2 misleads customers this way.
Great job Mark, your wife will love it! 🪲😎
Nice 👍❤️❤️❤️
can someone help me with the instructions, it was so hard omg
I can try, but I had trouble as well...
Yep this is a Round 2. It has an ungodly number of decals that will go to waste. Don't feel bad. They are a dishonest company. Be aware.
