JK is not fluent in English, but his album is totally English. His song, “Seven” is the fastest song to get 1 Billion streams on Spotify. The is a seasoned performer with over 10 years as the main vocalist of the mega group, BTS.

Jungkook or JK for short is the main vocalist for the Global phenomenon BTS. His label announced this as a subtle homage to Michael Jackson. This was his third Official solo release leading up to his album "Golden". None of JK's solo releases are Kpop. They are all American productions and should not be considered Kpop for that reason. Even his dancers are famous American dancer/choreographers. He once stated that he wanted to be a "giant pop star", and that meant launching into the American pop market. This song was written and produced by Grammy Award winning Producer of the Year Andrew Watt and a team of notable American/Canadian songwriters Cirkut, Jon Bellion and Ali Tamposi. It was produced by the Canadian producer/songwriter known as Cirkut. It was recorded at Watt's L.A. Studio and the video was filmed at an abandoned power plant in Budapest, Hungary.
Andrew Watt has produced albums for Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, the Rolling Stones new album and other notables. The Canadian producer Cirkut also has impressive credits such as producing for "The Weeknd" and others. Watt and Cirkut plus others from their team of songwriters were also involved with his first official solo release "Seven" Feat. Latto and also his album "Golden". Seven broke streaming records right out of the gate and was followed by another hit "3D" Feat. Jack Harlow. "Seven" Feat Latto is the fastest song in history to reach 100 million streams and is now over 1.4 billion (maybe more).
There is an Usher Remix Performance Video of this Jungkook track that you will like. Usher featured it on his new album released last Feb. JK's album "Golden" is now over 2.5 billion streams. His album features songs with songwriting or producing credits to Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes in addition to Andrew Watt and Cirkut.
There is some speculation that "Standing Next to You" is sampled from Renee & Angela's "Love You More".

Hello. I understand your excitement since very few can master MJ’s nuances these days. This was Jungkook's solo debut. You saw 11 years of experience as main vocalist for a successful group, being released on a solo stage. JK is very ambitious, not in a greedy way, but to prove that nothing can hold him back. He recorded his first album, Golden, entirely in English, in a few weeks’ time. Imagine singing in a foreign language and needing to complete a full album in less than a month. When JK sets his mind to it, nothing stops him. After recording, he had to make 3 MV's, prepare an album showcase and for promotions in the West (UK & US), Korea & Japan. And this all had to be wrapped up by December, so he could enlist in the military. From the end of April thru end of November 2023, he was hustling. Things that bolstered his confidence: 1st English solo song with Charlie Puth (June '22) his FIFA World Cup appearance (11/'22), Western producers who admire his talent became his cheering squad, his dance crews respect and support him, Western media fell in love with him as a person, MV directors praised his professionalism, enthusiastic fans for every appearance, featured artist who treated him like a peer and the staff from his company, BigHit, who did all they could to support this huge step in JK's career. And he's Calvin Klein global ambassador. As various parties across the globe embraced Jungkook, you could see his trust in himself built. He's always been comfortable performing, but for the first time in his life, he was also comfortable off the stage. I believe he finally trusted that people loved him as an individual, away from the group. What the future really holds, no one knows, but JK can have any future he wants. Hopefully his fans, both Army-the BTS fandom, and his gp & solo fans, will allow him to follow his heart and dreams.

His live performances are amazing, you can also check out Seven by Jungkook. His whole pop album is in English and was great, the album is called Golden. Jungkook is from BTS and did some solo stuff.
So it's not a remix. It does have parts that sound like MJ( it is an homage to MJ), and the part that you were thinking of sounds like Regulate by Warren G or the original sample by Michael McDonald, I Keep Forgetting.

This is not a remake, but it’s possible you have heard this song already since it has been out since November 2023, and you could have heard it on the radio or in another video. He did already compete on Billboard and got number 1. He did perform this at Times Square, along with 4 of his other songs from his new album. His album Golden has 10 fully English songs , which you should definitely check out. He has done quite a few performances of his solo stuff before he enlisted in the South Korean military in December, as all his bandmates are also enlisted. (Mandatory for all Korean men). There is a lot more Jungkook to enjoy, so please enjoy some more of his music and performances. 💜🔥

Strongly recommend V love me again from his solo album. He's a bts member. But his music is jazz and neo beo soul. So if you want soul and vocals then look for V. His whole album is a non skip. Best bet is to listen to him live on Tiny Desk NPR doesnt need bells and whistles.
