    JD should make a tractor without a seat or steering wheel. For farmer that lost their A$$ and don't know which way to turn! 🤣

    The W235R windrower is the mid size machine, i got mine used. In about 10 days itll be 2 years.
    If you happen to have pocket gopher mounds, its about 1 1/2 to 2 mph faster than a tractor with duals while in the field.
    The fastest ive cut is 14 1/2 mph in the field on alfalfa. I had a salesman tell me straight out that the w200 235 and 260 are the first ones fully integrated, so all you ready need is to transfer your globe/receiver. But if you like or know how to run your display, you can move that also.
    As for new price depending on options a couple years ago was $195,000 to $225,000 without heads. The hay head depending on conditioning rollers was $45,000 to $60 or $65,000. The 25' swather head (deere calls it a draper head) was over $70,000 in case you needed to combine a crop with a pickup head.
    There's some nice used machines for $140,000 or less all depending on the age.
    Compared to the jd 4995, the 4995 would only do about 13 mph down the road, the w235 will do around 23.
    Yes, there's a difference between the tractor lugs and turf/diamond tread tires. Yes there's a difference between the 4 conditioning rollers that john deere offers, yes i do have my preferences.

    Thanks for an amazing video Kip.
    It was so informative and interesting and enjoyable to watch.
    First of all: Welcome to Iowa. Enjoy your stay.
    Have fun at the John Deere test site.
    The autonomous tractor is something else. Totally running itself in the field and the tillage equipment behind it
    Just amazing the technology they have now. You are running the tractor with a phone. Just amazing.
    Thanks for taking us along Kip. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

    My question is how do you know if if depths are right plant population etc or if something breaks or planter plugs etc to mant variables for me to trust it

      New planters have sensors on basically everything. The only thing that isnt fully automated yet is depth. But thats already coming on the new Planters.

    some serious equipment, John Deere, to my knowledge? the company has been around for over 175+ yrs. They didn't always keep up with times through the yrs. (They remain independent till this day, to my understanding) but won the trust of farmers (powerful reliable durable tractors, maybe not so many frills) throughout North America and now I would suggest maybe different parts of the world! In another word, they seldom bit off more then they could chew!

    Automation is going to be key for US farmers to stay competitive with countries that have low labor costs, and more lax environmental laws; I mention environmental laws because some places they can use cheaper inputs that are not allowed by US environmental laws. To me, it is sad that this level of automation is going to be necessary for US farmers to stay competitive, as the cost (I think) is going to cause more family farms to go under.

    Kip that was a awesome opportunity from jd. Unfortunately in the Iowa area Juan deere has laid off 600 employees and sending there jobs to good Ole Mexico. I'm sure there to side to the story but , sending over 600 jobs to Mexico is like a spit in the face imo. Yes I know jd has had alot of plants down there. I see made in Mexico about everyday when I work on a jd engine , still a shame with 10 billion in profits last yr.

    I've seen a bunch of the older JD cotton pickers and a few of the newer C770 in action by me in Yuma. They do a lot of cotton over by Bales Hay so maybe next time Zach goes and visits Trevor, he can get some footage of them in action and I will get some here by me in the Western part of Arizona.

    Just saw Zoe's tube, all of this is kind of cool until it breaks (will not be cheap to fix), or when JD decides to raise the prices for their services. Also who owns the data being collected, the farmer or JD ?

    Just think of the powers to be, shuts down the satellites, and machines running with no humans how do your crops etc get done.
    They just have another way to condemn the farmers and the farms and shut them down so please farmers don't go for all the great advancements.
    Use your common sense Thanks from a Canadian that cares.

    • @dralord1307
      @dralord1307 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most things are semi autonomous currently. You can still drive the tractor etc. There are some that are fully auto but not really that used yet.

    • @davidyoung9195
      @davidyoung9195 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dralord1307 you’re referring to auto steer and the use of gps. And you’re correct but the difference is that a human is still in the machine to make critical decisions. This spring when satellite access was interrupted and some cellular service went down some not all but some users were left in the dark and shut down due to being totally dependent on technology. Technology is a great labor saver and efficiency booster but total dependence could potentially be and is devastating when it malfunctions. It’s just like business being totally dependent on computers. When the computer goes down or there is an interruption in electrical service every thing and I do mean everything comes to a standstill. Credit cards can’t be processed, cash registers are useless, shipping clerks can’t make out bill of ladings, transportation is interrupted, and everything grinds to a halt depending on how long the interruption in service continues.

    • @dralord1307
      @dralord1307 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@davidyoung9195 Hey brother NO need to tell me. I completely agree with you. Just looking at the JD tillage setup and other similar stuff they still have the ability for a driver to take over completely.
      Reality is if the internet/satellites go down now its not like back in the 80's. Now everything would shut down. There isnt many things these days that will work without the internet/gps. Most ppl would be completely lost without the internet either.
