    You are in for a treat, with Little Darlings and Goin South. I cannot believe it's taken this long for Little Darlings to get a HD release. It's a hidden gem, I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts about it. Great video!

    I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend picking up the Deaf Crocodile release World War III. It is by far my favorite thing I've ever gotten on VS's website. It feels like an Iranian reimagining of Lee Chang-Dong's masterpiece Burning. Also all of the DC stuff on the VS site is going OOP and is half off so I'd say get anything that sounds cool now! The Tune is another awesome animated film with some essential animated shorts as special features.

      Read this comment and went ahead and checked out the synopsis for this film. I instantly went to purchase it!

      Thanks for the recommendations! I'll have to look into World War III. The Tune is definitely on my radar. Deaf Crocodile might be my new favorite label right now. Super diverse selection and so much care put into their releases.

    Hey DJ! Another great video-welcome to the wild world of Vinegar Syndrome! FYI, Deaf Crocodile is ending their distribution deal with VS (they are now partnering with DiabolikDVD) so all their in-stock titles are 50% off. I scooped up all the remaining animation titles I still needed and you’ll be glad to know they *did* sell out of “Heroic Times”, so good call on getting that when you did!

    • @FilmsByColor
      @FilmsByColor  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I saw this yesterday! I was so tempted to grab The Tune, Benny’s Bathtub, and a few others. I just don’t have the funds right now unfortunately, so I had to resist the urge. Really happy I grabbed Heroic Times when I did though!

    Also regarding the Indicator Boxsets you mentioned, those are primarily made up of self contained films that fall under a particular theme. One of the mummy follow ups was on the Volume One set though. I can't speak for the states but they look to be out of print in my country. However the films that were featured in those sets did get singular releases later and I have a few that way.

    • @FilmsByColor
      @FilmsByColor  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad to hear these four films aren't included in the Indicator sets. Now I won't feel like I wasted my money if I ever do decide to get those Boxsets later on in the future. Although those are not cheap now that they're OOP.

    • @StephenMurphy96
      @StephenMurphy96 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FilmsByColor Yeah I've just resorted to getting whatever I can find individually. Collecting Hammer is a real challenge because their films are spread out across so many different labels and there's a lot of movies released by them between the 50's and the 70's. Technically speaking the studio began in the 30's. But it's mainly the 50's/60's/70's material that is the most well known and readily available. I have 39 films currently spread out across those decades and I still have a long way to go to completion. I made a list on my letterboxd to keep track of what I own so far.
      Also while the horror material is how their best known, they did branch out and tried other things. They made psychological thrillers, prehistoric films (The most famous being 1966's One Million years BC) and swashbuckler films as just a few examples. There was an Indicator release separate from the numbered volume sets that features two of their Robin Hood films which I have.

    Taste the Blood of Dracula is like the greatest title of all time! It goes so hard!

  • @ConnerNielsen6
    @ConnerNielsen6 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Vinegar Syndrome is a great label, with a healthy variety in releases. I have their limited edition release of Showgirls, which I imagine is very similar to that Sidekicks release you have, but they also have these cool deluxe packaging for individual titles where it comes with a slipcover that slides into a hard slipcase-I have The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Flesh for Frankenstein in 4K that way (the latter of which contains within the slipcase TWO jewel cases in their own slipcovers housing different editions of the film!)
    But then their standard releases also feel made with care-such as their WNUF Halloween Special. That had a great slipcover for its initial run.
    Great pickups! I recently ordered the Cinematograph for Little Darlings and the Yellow Veil release of The Saragossa Manuscript, too! Loved the video, you always find neat work that I wasn’t aware was going on.

    VS is the best. Everything you get from them is amazing. The best releases out of anyone, they really can’t miss. Have not been unhappy with any purchase from them. Loving their new cinematographe line just hope they put out more quantity for the next releases. Going out of print way too quick

    • @FilmsByColor
      @FilmsByColor  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

These releases add up so quick can barely get them at retail lol.

    Regarding that Hammer set you now have, the films in that are not included in the Indicator boxsets. I actually have two of the films there. I got the Mummy and Taste the Blood of Dracula. Dracula Has Risen From the Grave and Frankenstein Must be Destroyed don't have Blu Ray releases where I live it looks like.
    The 59 Mummy is the first in that series. There are four total. This is the only Mummy film to feature Cushing and Lee.
    The Dracula series has nine films total. Lee is in seven of them (Including the two you got which are the fourth and fifth film) Cushing is in the first and second films and later on the final three which come after those.
    And the Frankenstein series has seven films. Cushing is in all of them except the sixth. Lee only features in the first one. Frankenstein Must be Destroyed is the fifth entry. These are all pretty loose in terms of continuity so seeing them in order is not required.
