I should have added in the video that The Vinyl Den now has a storefront on Amazon! It's a great source for new releases, preorders, deals on vinyl and CDs, and gear! www.amazon.com/shop/thevinylden
The terminology surrounding music formats has always fascinated me. Specifically, I've often wondered why people insist on saying 'vinyl records' when, in fact, the correct term is simply 'records.' The addition of 'vinyl' seems redundant, as if clarifying the material composition of the medium is necessary. But when did this linguistic trend begin? Was it a marketing ploy to distinguish analog from digital formats? Whatever the reason, I find it quite curious that we've adopted this phraseology. For me, it's simply a record - a timeless vessel for music that transcends the need for extraneous descriptors.
Oh I think it’s been even more than that. It’s been a couple of years though. I think the last repress was 2022, but I wonder if it was a limited release because I haven’t seen a copy in any of my local stores since shortly after it was released.
I’m glad you like post malones stuff, I totally agree about Austin. On top of digging all the news I love checking out the wall behind you every time you do one of these, a few of those are also core memory nostalgia classics for me as well. The new alkaline trio album turned out so good I was so happy.
The thing with these weekly new releases is that they are 10 or 12 that only interest you personally! Many more come out that probably you won’t talk about because they don’t interest you If the viewers don’t like the same stuff that you do then the new releases don’t have much interest
What would you have this channel do instead - any new release channel is going to have to limit what is covered and should be something the TH-camr has knowledge/interest in. I don’t always share the music taste but I get to learn a good bit and become a little more informed.
There is absolutely zero way for him to know what EVERYONE will like. I think he does a great job at showing releases from multiple genres. Also it’s his channel, why not show the releases he’s interested in? What a stupid comment.

The Muffs absolutely punk rock. I love Kim Shattuck's voice. She left us way too early.
You always have the good jazz recommendations. Thanks for what you do!

Ray Lamontagne has his new album 'Long Way Home' coming out this Friday

You Forgot to mention a Big Rock Release this week!
20th Century Lindsey by Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac(Rhino)
300 USA album releases in August 2024 is incredible in an age of music streaming tbh 🎶
Yeah it is, but it’s actually kind of a light week. There’s typically around 400 releases a week.
That Mazzy Star has been reissued at least 3 times now

Awesome ❤😊

I was really impressed with the new AK3 album! It’s one of my top albums of the year so far.
@@TheVinylDen I love that you loved it man, I saw them play it in la a few months back
The Post album is for sure a country album.
💯 percent buying Creed

That’s why I post around 30-40 titles in the comments section each week, and ask people to drop a comment on the albums they are looking forward to.

His weekly new release videos are fantastic. It's his channel... Of course he's going to talk about the ones that he likes and knows.
There is absolutely zero way for him to know what EVERYONE will like. I think he does a great job at showing releases from multiple genres. Also it’s his channel, why not show the releases he’s interested in? What a stupid comment.
if you know anything about OutKast, stankonia is NOT their best album
