    Hi Jonny, magandang umaga sayo. Maraming salamat for this very informative video, keep making videos like this to help my fellow Kababayans learn more with regards to their remittances. I have been using Remitly for long now and for me at the moment is the best remittance company for sending money to the Philippines, especially for cash pickups. Greetings from South Wales, UK.

      Everything I've read says world remit is best for cash pickups and remitly something else(maybe bank to bank but I don't care because I've been researching cash pickup) EDIT: Nope, your'e right, according to the Monito comparison app on 4 Feb 2023, Remitly wins. Could change next week. That is the world of business. Companies know humans are creatures of habit, and once they build up a strong following, they will often raise prices while others stay the same, so near constant comparing is needed to be sure you are getting the best rates or price.

      @@janmateo2357 hey Jan, I just had a look for you and sending 1000GBP or roughly 66,000PHP would be cheapest via WISE (go.monito.com/wise?lng=en). It is also the cheapest if you send 100GBP to 6,600PHP.

    Sorry to go off on a tangent, but...I was surprised to see that Remitly is a publicly owned company. You can buy shares of it. Next earnings report comes out on 2/22/2023. Stock symbol in the USA is RELY, I think. And you can also sell call options on these shares, which I did. You can buy 100 shares now at about $11.75 a share. And you can sell the right for someone to buy those shares from you at $10 up until the third week in October. For this right, the buyer of your option will pay you $3.00 a share ($300.00). So if the share price stays above $10, you have to sell then at $10 a share. But no big deal. With that $300 in your pocket, you'll make a very nice profit on an investment of $1,175.

    • @Monitodotcom
      @Monitodotcom  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is quite the tangent 😂

      @@Monitodotcom I agree, it was off the main topic quite a bit. BUT if anyone followed my lead and bought shares of this company, they now have a very big smile on their face. And they are all very welcome. Closed today at $18.36, I took my profits.

      I would suggest just using www.Monito.com before you send, the cheapest provider is constantly changing so it might be WISE today, Remitly tomorrow then WorldRemit the next. You can also have us notify you when the cheapest provider changes. I used it for GBP > USD as I often send money to the states. Check it out :) ^Jonny

    I tried to send money to the Philipines, to someone I only know online, first with Remitly, and then Xoom. In each case the transaction was cancelled. I called each time to find out why. I was asked why are you sending the money, how long have you known this person, and when was the last time I met them in person. My answers were 1. to help someone that lives in poverty, 2, about 2 to 3 years, and 3. I have never met this person online. In each case, the transfer remained cancelled. What's up with that?

      @@tomtom-by8rs Then you're probably saved by the platform from sending money to a scammer. Even if it's out of good will that you are helping that person and you still haven't seen them for yourself is sus. So be thankful if it didn't went through. The details given to you might be fake so the transaction didn't went smoothly.
