I actually thought that they were doing the Planet of the Symbiotes storyline from the comics for Venom: The Last Dance... and I was wrong. If they just did that but removed Peter Parker's Spider-Man and the Scarlet Spider then it would've been bad but at least it wouldn't have been this. Also, first... yes I know it's annoying and no one cares but I can't resist.
I agree. The large scale cosmic stuff only matters if we care about the characters on a personal level. There needs to be more time between crazy, world-ending events to have grounded, human stories.
Exactly! Going from Avengers to a cosmic spidey movie to another avengers movie is gonna feel a little too crazy IMO. We need those smaller scale stories to remind us that these are just regular people, but we'll see what they do!
Yeah... probably, but Ant-Man & The Wasp came right after Infinity War and was a prequel, so maybe there's a chance! But most likely it will be multiversal related haha
"Arguably I don't know much about this villian..." While criticism of how Sony has handled their universe is totally fair, Knull is awesome in the comics, highly recommend reading the "King in Black" event, it's basically an invasion of Earth from knull that takes all the superheroes to beat.
I'll consider reading it, he does look like a pretty awesome villain! But yeah, even though I didn't know anything about him it is simply because I don't trust Sony and their villains. If it was adapted by any other studio then I would have a bit more faith, but even then, it's mostly just the premise of it leaning more cosmic is an immediate turn off for me, even if it is a promising story. I would just prefer to have Knull in Spider-Man 5 or something, but we'll see what happens!
@@Machuw knull isn't really a "cosmic" threat in that comic run, it feels more like a regular old alien invasion, just a really powerful one. Like if galactus or the chitauri invaded earth. Totally reasonable to be concerned to have a villian like him show up in one movie without much of a buildup.
another mcu spider-man rant: imo, i always think of mcu spider-man as a wasted potential. when they finally hired a teenager to play spider-man i wished for something like spectacular spider-man. a grounded street level trilogy with classic spider-man stories. i hated how everything revolves around iron-man and avengers. peter constantly getting help and tech from ironman. no money problems. the villains are tony stark villains. and no classic swing scenes. except for the 3rd one, his movies don't even feel like spider-man movies. there's no drama. no side cast like gwen, harry. mj, betty, flash personality are not 1% similar to comic counterparts. tom acts more like miles than peter. The 3rd movies ending gave me a hope. it took 3 movies and we finally got our classic broke, lonely peter. all they have to do is make a street level movie with kingpin hiring scorpion to kill spider-man, peter joining clg, meeting harry, gwen. maybe black cat cameo etc. that's it. but nah, they want that fan service nostalgia money. i think soon tom holland will be replaced by miles leaving tom with no classic spidey movies.
Yes, exactly! I totally agree. It took so long to get to this point, and I don't want them to waste his potential even more. We have the perfect setup for a grounded, street-level story for Peter, and I don't want to get another cosmic story already. I do miss our classic Spidey side characters like Harry, and Gwen, and I wish these people would get more story instead of people like Iron Man for sure. It sucks that this feels like such a big ask, when it's kind of the core of Spider-Man, but we'll have to see what they do I guess!

No more multiverse storylines in the Multiverse Saga after they've already tied Peter into it might be a little bit too big of an ask
