    I'm alone, retired, and don't need a lot of space. Watching videos about that camper has really peeked my interest. I'm thinking the 4 seasons is important.

    We bought our little guy max in May of this year and have put on over 9100 miles on it. We had a 39 1/2 ‘ classA and a 29’ class C, but you we find when you go out west you will find that a small trailer will work for a lot of the National parks. You will really enjoy Canada. Stop by and see some of our adventures @ Stop Eat Explore. By the way We have met Randi and she is a great person and fun to be with.

    Thank you for accepting my challenge! 😁 I have enjoyed seeing all of your LGM mods on Instagram and watching your TH-cam videos! Now I know you love winter camping like I do! There aren’t many of us out there! We have learned to bring our own potty and heating is easy when hooked up to electric with our milk house heater or using propane to keep us warm. The quality of the LGM and bathroom sold us too. Meal planning is my biggest struggle... I hope sometime to taste your tacos Christy... 😋 Great video guys!

    One thing I would like to see change is to have a fold down sink in the bathroom. We're exploring ways to do this, but for now we have a bowl and water pitcher.

      We've been looking at a possible small first trailer now that we're retired. If we go with a teardrop, it's between the TAB 400 and the LGM (so far). There are a lot of things to like about the LGM, but one thing we like about the TAB is the fold down sink in the wet bath.

      I prefer having a bit more space vs a fold up sink and saw a video on the tab 400 sink, and it doesn’t drain well. Best to use kitchen sin to brush teeth, etc.

    Appreciate the vid, real TH-cam campers. We traded up to a Grand Design 22mle previous TT was 19ft (box size) You mention camper underneath being exposed. Consider 12V heat pads. We had them on our previous TT and we hung out in night time temps of 19 degrees. But we have a decent set-up for winter camping including a heated hose and additional heated lines etc. We are considering a small used 2nd TT that might be able to fit in our garage which has a high 9ft entrance or will place it on the other side of the house? So the Tab 320 & Mini Max came around on my YT search and their larger models like yours. This is my 3rd time watching you folks. As you we're weekenders simply not full-time. At times we do take our work on the road an extra day or two to get a jump on our excursion. When you were asked what you don't like about your TT my wife answered as if it were her lol and replied we won't go back to an East to West bed lol and then Chris said Black Tank lol We love our North to South true queen. So if we go with a small TT it needs to be a twin set-up or North to South which is highly unlikely. But the TT needs to get me an extra 3 to 4 mpg advantage to our current avg of 10.5 mpg's @ 62-64 mph. We Subscribed and we don't Subscribe easy. But you are so relatable and real. Blessings from Miami, FLA

    So you never mention what your Vehical you use to pull the LGM?
    Do you have a sway bar or do you think it pulls well enough you don’t need one.
    Did you get the back up camera and if so do you like it?
    I’ve been out only once since I purchased my LGM and will be retired so and so going solo I’m picking up all the info to be successful
    Appreciated your honest video, glad to see like minded people out there.

      Cheri, We also love the look of the Airstream and the quality. I wish it were a 4 seasons trailer. We have had a great experience with the LGM as far as quality and we love the size. We would love to have a 4 seasons camper after our retirement. We have been researching the Lance 2075.

      @@TurnerMaxAdventures thank you so much for replying. Last Sat we sold our 2016 Airstream interstate. Gorgeous. Like it came out of the factory. We took out the scissor bed and built custom Axel Bloom articulating beds. Sold the rig with all the originals and the new beds. It just wasn’t us. Not cozy like yours. We looked at the lance but again compared it to the airstream. Nothing compares. Trust me. Our airstream was sealed solid. I think they are worth the money, I just don’t have that much money. So I have to ask. I am in my 60s amd we both get up in the nite at least once, doesn’t it bother you to crawl over each other? We love the look of your trailer and think we might do it instead of the airstream caravel. Do you think I could make the dinette area a comfortable bed? I just wish we could fit in the same bed without someone crawling over in the nite. We are new fans of your channel

      You definately should watch the utube videos on the problems with this unit. Not insulated at all. Lots of openings to the outside that should have been sealed. This couple shows it beautifully. There are many others that show how cheaply it is made. If it’s your first, I deeply encourage you to watch every video you can find to avoid heartbreak. They are not made well accept for the wood on the cabinets. They don’t handle the rad well if you plan on traveling a lot of miles. It’s definitely not a rig for winter.

      @@cheri6174 Wow, thanks so much for the warning! I really appreciate you taking the time to reach out. We have shelved our RV daydreams for the time being (doing lots of tent camping this summer!😃), but if the RV bug ever bites us again we will bear your words in mind and be sure to track down insights on the negatives of whatever units we may consider at that time. Maybe by then Little Guy will have improved on their quality! Be well, and all the best to you!🌺

    • @cheri6174
      @cheri6174 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SistahRev here is what we have learned. some the hard way. the hard way is when you purchase and find out how much you lost by buying. here is what i can pass on: the minute you drive off from a dealer, you loose 30% of what you paid, you never get the sales tax money back. it’s just gone. no company will ever build better. they are there to make money. the one and only company ever that will give you quality is Airstream. it always has and always will be. try to never ever buy new. no matter how sweet it looks. have much more. only put aside than you think. insurance is expensive, maintenance is expensive, these are why people stay in tenets. rv life is completely different than camping. rules, setup and breakdown work. we researched for 11 years and finally bought out dream airstream. within 5 months we knew it wasn’t the one for us. to sell it that soon, we would have had to take $40,000 less than we paid for. my heart breaks to see what these dealers do to people for their bottom line. the max for example has several openings to the outside which lets mice get in and destroy your rig in a weekend time. research research research.

    • @SistahRev
      @SistahRev 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cheri6174 My goodness, that all sounds so traumatizing! And some of the things you mention we had gotten wind of, and were not willing to take the financial & emotional risk of “experimenting” to see if RV life is for us by buying even a used unit (and renting one would also have been a pain). Our initial interest was based on the fantasy that an RV would kind of be for us like a hard sided tent with more space and amenities... but the more we researched (maintenance, necessary gadgets & add-Ins, safety procedures for towing, off-season cleaning & storage, insurance, depreciation, etc etc etc) we realized we’d rather do the work that camping is, rather than the work of RV-ing. I REALLY hope and pray you and your family find a pleasurable recreational/travel niche that feels like it suits you to a tee, and that you experience it as more than worth whatever time, effort and cash it requires to enjoy it!🤗

    Thank you for your great video. It is August 2021. How are you faring with the LGM? That is the next teardrop I want when I have a bigger truck/ SUV. I see you have a VW to tow yours. Camper Girl uses a Ford F150. Any one out there care to share?
    We just bought a 2022 smaller tear drop, with a wet bath, that my Tacoma can pull. I spoke to Escape and they say all of their campers are still 3-season, even with the tank heater pads. I would drain the tanks, carry some water or take it from a campground and use a portable loo.

      Thanks for watching Jimmy!!
      I can only share with you what works for us to plan our 2 week trips. Generally, we start with the "destination" where we want to go, which is typically a national park. So far, these destinations have included: Glacier NP, Sanibel & Key West, FL, Acadia NP, Big Bend NP, Rocky Mountain NP. After setting the destination we begin looking for places to go along our way. We like to camp in state parks, national monuments, national forest campgrounds, and harvest hosts much more than commercial RV parks, however, we are also KOA members and have stayed at our fair share of those too. It really depends on what's close to our route or if it's worth taking a detour along our route for something really spectacular.
      I have used RVTripwizard.com to plan the last 5 of our extended trips and even a few shorter ones. It is a pay/subscription web tool, but for us, it has been worth it.
      With RVtripwizard, I can see most pay campsites on public and private lands. But i can also add harvest host or other free campsites (from campendium usually).
      Hope that helps... one of these days, we might need to do a more detailed video about how we plan out trips.
      thanks again for watching!

    I saw you mentioned the flat extended rear shape. I have wondered how this would travel in the real world. The other side of altering this would be the storage area loss of size much like the Nucamp and the 150 lb rear hitch.
    My new question is no one has mentioned the front window and how owners prepare this for travel. I know Randi broke her side window and so what about this beautiful window during travel.

    • @TurnerMaxAdventures
      @TurnerMaxAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael,
      You are right about the trade offs with the shape of the rear of the camper. We have our spare tire on the back and really like it there. Changing the shape would possibly prevent us from mounting it there.
      As for the front window, we dont have a cover or anything and haven't had any problems after more than 20000 miles .

    Thanks for the info. I may have missed it in your videos, but do you have the 100w solar? Also, I understand the tv and entertainment systems are only 110v shore dependent. Did you buy an inverter? Thx!

      @TurnerMaxAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We actually have 200 W of solar. We have the 2019 little guy Max on which the radio and TV as both are powered on 12 V battery. We don't have an inverter at this time but have been considering it for a while. Honestly though we haven't needed it.

    do you have any problem with mice getting into your trailer when not in use, I guess what I am asking is there access holes underneath ie where pipes and or hoses penetrate the trailer we have had issues on other trailers, thank you

      We haven't had any issues with mice. Chris has sealed around anything that could be an issue, and so far, so good.

    Enjoyed listening to your comments about your LGM. We're considering one, but camp in areas with black flies, no-seeums and mosquitoes and are concerned about the ability of the LGM screens to keep out bugs. Have you been bug-free? Thx.

    • @TurnerMaxAdventures
      @TurnerMaxAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!!!! The only time we had issues with bugs was in the Everglades last April. There was a great breeze so we left the windows open but the screens didn't keep them out. We had the lights off and all of the sudden started getting eaten alive. We turned on the lights and were horrified. We only camp with electric hookups in mosquito territory and keep the windows closed. Good luck on your search.

    Have you done anything to insulate or heat your tanks?

    • @TurnerMaxAdventures
      @TurnerMaxAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, we haven't, Bob. We usually don't camp in consistently low day and night temps.

    • @TurnerMaxAdventures
      @TurnerMaxAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We also turn on the Water heater so it can warm that compartment beneath the driver side dinette seat. We find that will help keep the lines warm for short overnight temp drops

    Has anyone undercoated their LGM? What did you use?

    • @TurnerMaxAdventures
      @TurnerMaxAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe a few have. You may want to check on Little Guy Max Fans and Owners Facebook page. Do a search on that page for undercoating.

    Do you guys use a generator and if so what brand and how many watts

    • @TurnerMaxAdventures
      @TurnerMaxAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We only recently added a generator to our rv power options and have only used it a few times.
      It's a yamaha 2000 watt generator. It won't power the AC, unless we add a "soft start" to the AC like the the micro air easy start which we plan to do at some point.

    Currently own a sonic lite 150vrk but we are seriously looking at the LGM the two concerns I have is the 20 gal fresh water tank-(on the sonic it’s 38 gal ) and any issue with any of the windows leaking-thanks and really like you channel

    • @TurnerMaxAdventures
      @TurnerMaxAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 20 gallon tank is small compared to 38 gallons but we haven't had any problems. We are normally moving every few days on our trips (@3-4 days) so we really haven't had any issues with running out of water. We haven't ANY issues with the windows leaking🤞. Good luck on your search! THANKS FOR THE KIND COMMENTS! We can't wait to get back out there in Sept.

    Would a cassette toilet be more or less gross to deal with the dumping and clean up?

    • @TurnerMaxAdventures
      @TurnerMaxAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Gary,
      We've never used a cassette toilet , so cannot say for sure. In reality the black tank isn't awful , just not a favorite activity. If you do it right it's not really gross. We hook up the sewer hose, empty the black, close the black valve, then empty the gray tank to flush put the hose. After closing the gray valve and unhooking the hose from the rv, we flush the hose with water to further clean it out then stow it away. I wear rubber gloves when handling any sewer stuff and thoroughly wash up afterwards.
