Thank you so much, Olly, for this incredible review of May the Wolf Die! As a long-time admirer of your channel and your thoughtful insights, I’m truly honored that Nikki and Valerio’s story resonated with you. Your review means so much-not just to me, but to crime fiction readers who trust your recommendations (myself included!). It’s amazing to see how your words inspire people to pick up books, and I’m so grateful for the care and substance you brought to this one. I’m thrilled to know you’d like to read the next book-Nikki’s journey is far from over, and I can’t wait to share more with you and your audience. I have a 7-book series planned. The second book will be released by Penguin in 2025 (just waiting for my editor's feedback before I dive into January rewrites). I'll let you know when I have the launch date and, of course, get you an advanced review copy! You're right: I'm working on book #3 right now. Sitting in a little pub in the Hague right now on this Sunday evening, and writing chapter Seven. Thank you again for your generosity and support!
Thanks for the mention of The Long Walk--I read it in high school in the 1980s, looking forward to checking it out again. In addition to the other Parker books recommended (yes, read The Hunter!), I would add Slayground (1969) and Butcher's Moon (1974)--but read them back to back and treat it as one whole book (IMHO). Thanks again!
I just put the Heider book on hold at the library. Thanks for the rec. I just finished Private Rites by Julia Armfield where I didn't really enjoy the reading experience at times but once everything came together it was worth the read. As far as a 1978 book have you read Anne Rivers Siddons' The House Next Door? It's one of those horror books that always turn up on those "need to read before you die" lists.
Loved The Gathering by C.J. Tudor! Have read all her books except her book of short stories A Sliver of Darkness. At the moment I’m reading A Christmas Guest by Peter Swanson and Genesis by Karin Slaughter.
There are 24 Parker books and Ask the Parrot is the second to last one. The first 3 and the last two are the only ones that sort of carry over. I'd suggest starting with the first 3. They are The Hunter, The Man with the Getaway Face and The Outfit.
You mentioned you finished all the Highsmith novels , but have I missed some of your videos? You havent done a review of some of my favorites: The Cry of the Owl (particularly), or Deep Water, In A Glass Cell, Ediths Diary...etc?
Yes, I deliberately didn't do reviews of all of the books as taking up 1 of my review slots each month with the same author felt like it might get boring for viewers. I will be doing some kind of wrap up video of the whole thing next year I think. Of the books you mention, Edith's Diary was my favourite (in fact I think it's her best book)
So that Patricia Highsmith book would be.....ummm...non-fiction would it? 🤭 Interesting. The Gathering sounds interesting too, as does The Long Walk, except it'll be tooooooo long. There's a few vamps live near me, they don't really fit in, because they play sports and read non-fiction. 😉 I'm reading Bitcoin Billionaires by Ben Mezrich. No one talks about Ben Mezrich. Has he been cancelled?
I’m so happy you reviewed my sister’s book. Elizabeth and I are great fans of your reviews. Delighted you enjoyed May the Wolf Die.
I really loved it!

That’s fantastic, I can’t wait to read more of the series! And thank you for your kind words about the channel.

I'm so ready to read the long walk

I haven’t read that and I really need to! But I don’t own it so will have to wait until after RWYO is done
The House Next Door is a great read, highly recommended. 😊

Is A Christmas guest good? I bought it the other week and I'll likely start it next week

I've nearly finished Ask the Parrot now, but will definitely go back and start from the beginning of the series at some point

Wow. I have read more than you for once? I've read five books so far this week and finished 11 of 50 in the read what you own challenge.
Fantastic progress on your Read What You Own
hello.....😊
Morning!

I've not heard of Ben Mezrich, so not sure it's possible to cancel him (for me anyway).
@@CriminOllyBlog You haven't heard of him? Some of his books have been turned into movies. Best way to describe him is 'trashy non-fiction'.
I see he has a book called 'Sex on the Moon' I'm in!
