I can´t imagine that it would have been a problem if our irl crown princess Victoria would have said in the past that she is a lesbian, so no that would feel too old. I have a feeling that the attention that Wilhelm gets here is the reason he can`t handle things so well but it has to process within him what he actually wants. Some other kind of drama would be better, something that feels 2021 and ahead.
I really love this show! A few years ago I watched Skam for the first time and loved it, but never found another series that kind of had a similar vibe, until I stumbled upon "Young Royals". I really like the way the show just gives off a very realistic feeling (apart from the kind of cliche plot ^^"). The actors actually do look like teenagers and their acting and chemistry really made me so invested in these characters. I'm not just here for Wilhelm and Simon but I also want another season to find out what will happen next to the other students! SPOILER The ending didn't actually break me and to be honest I actually like it very much. Wilhelm wasn't ready to tell the whole world he was gay which is pretty understandable. It just wouldn't have made sense if he suddenly "betrayed" his family after trying so hard to please everyone for an entire season. But he loves Simon and wants to be with him, so he hugged him in front of all these students, which was quite a big step for him. Even if there is no second season I could live with that ending because to me it hints at them getting back together as soon as Wilhelm is ready to tell everyone the truth.

Augustus released the video with Wilhelm, ruining his relationship with Simon, and Wilhelm's mother knew everything but didn't tell him and left Augustus basically unpunished, as far as we know.

Great story, for an awesome and handsome couple! We REALLY need romantic, intense stories like these… but now we want to see Wilhelm to fight against the established will of the Crown, while he puts his growing love first, and to learn how to live his duties as future king with Simon right to his side, without hiding his feelings anymore. Wilhelm didn't fear a long, public hug with Simon in front of the whole school.

oh how i love editors using filters that can clearly show their pores, skin textures, scars etc. this is a big deal for me cause as a teenager struggling with acne & acne scars, seeing actors in front of the camera letting their skin bare and naked is so so comforting for me. well i know they used a lil make up or so but their didn't have the purpose to cover those media called as 'imperfection'. i am so comfortable in my own skin now

Let me just say this because this series really made me comment on youtube. I just finished in some hours yesterday this series and those hours were the best. I went from crying because I was angry at some characters to crying of happiness while seeinh Wilhelm and Simon being such cuties. The acting is amazing and the fact that the actors look like teenagers, aren't perfect models but still beautiful people, they nailed it with the acting in every scene. I was suspicious because I haven't listened to swedish before so I wasn't sure if I'm gonna like it but it sounds so much like german so I became familiar very soon. Another amazing thing is that the relationship between Simon and Wilhem is healthy, yea, not perfect, but really healthy and they are absolutely made for each other. Another amazing character that made me watch the show even more was Felice! Yea, a popular girl who isn't a bully, isn't blonde with blue or green eyes and has worries. She honestly made me smile everytime, unlike Sara....This show had more needed topic in 6 episodes than some series have in 6 seasons. If we ain't gonna get a season 2 then I'm gonna have to go and see the show for myself in their country. I need to see Simon and Wilhelm start a revolution in season 2, communicate with each other even more, see Simon's mom which I adore, Felice and hope she gets the best and see what's gonna happen with Sara and August.
