In your video I heard you say that you have to release these fish because of their bladder. Not true. Small puncture back from their side fin will release the air in the fish and allow it to go back down to the bottom. So many fish are being lost out there because no one knows how to deflate a bladder. Check out TH-cam very good information. I’ve done this several times with dinks that I’ve caught out there and released them no problem. The organ protruding out of their mouth is not the bladder that’s their stomach do not pop that. Again midway through the fish with either a turkey baster or a worm blower or any type of syringe will release the air in the bladder and the fish will be able to go back down to the bottom no harm
@@johnnimon824 I saw this same post this morning on a Facebook group. We kept all the fish, until we had our limit. It's the clowns out there that toss them back and leave them to die, just to cull to get some bigger ones. I've "fizzed" walleyes before and it was successful. I'll have to try it on perch next time.

How far is the ride from shore?
It's far in a boat from portage it's about 9 miles from east Chicago about 9 miles it's deep water fishing you need good weather and a nice boat
57 feet is not 9 miles. It’s more like 3 or 4 miles out. Lot of guys are catching them up and cohos from 30-50 feet of water
6.3 miles from Portage, to be exact.
