Yo dude the explanation in the beginning about how ambient stuff is built up was great. I had no clue and it's so helpful to know what kinda format/structure to aim for.
Great way to describe ambient. No discernible polyrhythms or memorable melodies. My ambient follows the same idea, yet you described it wonderfully.
So many great insights in one video… Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Thank you! I'm glad to hear it.
Such a happy accident stumbling upon your channel. Instantly subscribed and I want to wish you all the luck in the world with the future of your channel.
Thanks a lot, Roy. I've more ambient stuff coming soon!
This is awesome thank you so much. Ambient music felt kinda daunting so I never really attempted it but you gave a lot of insight and notes on what the goal of ambient is
Great demo/tutorial video. I look forward to seeing and hearing more from you.
Watched through the entire vid, you are great at explaining, and your style of explaining draws me in to wanna listen more. good shit man!
Thank you! I'm glad it helped, and it's encouraging to hear.
So peaceful
This is quite helpful. I hope you make more ambient tutorials.
More coming soon!
Great job! Took some notes to try on my next piece. Look forward to listening to more of your work!
Thank you! Nice soundscapes, btw. Are you using generative techniques to make those?
@@lordSquigles Sorry! I missed replying to this!!!! No generative techniques. All hand crafted, which means the whole thing can sometimes take ages! 😆
It worked like a charm, thanks.
I'm glad to hear! Have fun with it.
Amazing dude
Glad this was a suggestion! Great tutorial for beginners and intermediate level producers. Subbed.

Very creative here!!New sub👍beautiful Ambient track!!Thanks for sharing.hp✌
Thank you! There's more coming soon.
Thank for showing us your process , i am curious to know what you think about experimental and ambient music performance in case if the music was composed and mixed digital or in an usual way do you think it is OK to improvise when your in a live performance or is it better to also be able to deliver the same music that the artist has released ?
good ;)
A lot of things in one vid, will definitely have to rewatch.. how would you go about a "Ambient Desert Synth" track?
Ooh, that might make a great upcoming video!
For a short answer: I'd say most of it has to do with the timbre of your instruments; I'd go more aggressive with desert synth than with most ambient and use more saws, brass pads, plucks, etc. I'd also probably choose some mode of harmonic minor to work in for that more aggressive/mysterious sound. Though I think the most distinct characteristics of it are the sound design ones.
save me lordSquigles
if any part two video for same content could be good for more idea for sure
Great vid! Links in the description are cropped. Could you pls fix that? Thank you!
Thank you! Unfortunately, TH-cam won't display the entire links or make them clickable until I've built up some channel reputation. For now, to make sure you've found the right one, you might have to search a plugin by name and check that the website domain matches that in the link. Sorry about that.
Edit: They're should be fixed now.
Nice one :)
What synth are used? i cant see it.
I was mostly using Audio Damage's Quanta 2, but really any granular synth or sampler should be able to get similar sounds.
imagine the breakcore on this... scrumptious
Would you consider going ont pad design at all?
That's exactly what I plan on covering next!
You should really get a good microphone, that headset mic sounds horrible
