If you can get hold of one, look for a „Schneiderkanne“. I just bought two 90 years old models and restored them. These were professional tools and you feel it. Nice balance, even the big ones can be used with one hand only by letting the handle glide a little lower, great water flow through the rosette so the can empties quickly but does not wash away the soil, very durable, great reselling value if you want to.

Some beautiful watering cans. A manufacturer ID or distributor name, would have been very helpful to find the models demonstrated in your video.

The high end ones on the left (dark green, grey) are made by Haws if that helps at all. As is the tiny light blue on mid-right.

I agree! The green one to his right with "thicker plastic" starting at 1:19 was made by Dramm.

It would be nice if you mentioned the brand names.

rick padgett the tall one is Haws. Looks like their long reach version. The tiny blue one he demoed is also haws. I don't know any of the others though.

It doesn't look so gentle when you have the rose up; some was just pouring out... Man, I'm going nuts trying to find a good watering can, even willing to spend on a Haws, but seeing the spray like that was discouraging.

Update: I've noticed on other reviews of Haws watering cans that with the rose face up, it seems you need to tip it more for the spray to be even. It's likely an excellent watering can. And, YES, the little turquoise one, the big grey one, and likely the large dark green one are Haws. But John definitely should have let us know that. That was a pretty big omission.

@@nspector Did you end up choosing a water can? if so what did you end up getting? Hard to find a large Haws in the state, but even then its expensive

@@fujisan5781 Hi, I did! I ordered a Haws months ago. I can't remember why, in the end, I picked one with the rose in a fixed position, but it was after lots more hours of deliberation and reading and watching reviews. I ordered this one through Terrain, the 2-gallon one, and delivery has been delayed twice so far. Was supposed to be here early May (when May was already a couple of months away), then early June, now they are saying "expected to ship July 11." So, yes, obviously problems keeping up with demand, and maybe shipping difficulties. And, right, expensive. I'll just be happy when I get it. If I'm not in watering can bliss after all of this, then all is hopeless. www.shopterrain.com/products/haws-traditional-watering-can?color=Green&size=Small

@@fujisan5781 Same question to you now! What did you go for? Very new to watering cans but fortunately I'm British (don't often say that) so have Haws on my doorstep if they're who to go for.

@@nspector Have you received it yet? I'm very new to watering cans and Haws are on my radar. There's still one type (£100) sold out on the official Haws website and I think it might be the one you've bought. Both Covid and Brexit have disrupted our supply chains so maybe one of those is a reason.
