そう、今から30数年前の1989年……NY・Carnegie Hall でElla ・Fitzgerald(1917-1996)のライブを見ました。当時、彼女はもう70歳を過ぎ、往年のバイタリティー、天性のハートフルボイスは衰えつつありましたが、ステージに登場するなり観衆総立ちの「スタンディングオベーション」となり、〈ジャズボーカルの女王〉に割れんばかりの拍手と歓声を送っていたことが今も記憶のスクリーンに鮮やかに描き出されます。そして、改めて調べてみると、この1989年リリースの『All That Jazz』が最後のアルバムとのこと………涙、涙、涙………。
I love this arrangement. It seems you are using a different tuning - at least on the sixth string which allows the fill beginning in the first measure.
Thank you for watching!! Generally, the first & second bars are an F major seventh chord. However, I think of the first bar as FM7-FM7-Gm7-G#dim, and the second bar as Am7, heading toward that Am7. Since Am7 and FM7 sound very similar, so return to FM7 in the middle of the second measure.
