    I was born that year the Monkees startet their amazing career as a boyband, as singers and songwriters, as multi-talented comedians... and they were also so very handsome young men!!! Rest in peace, Michael, Davy and Peter. As long as Micky is with us, his great voice and his sense of humour, the Monkees will live on.

    Since that E True Hollywood Story the story extended Micky married Donna Quinter and they're still married 21 years later, Peter and Davy got remarried one more time and there were more Monkee reunions Unfortunately the story got sadder when Davy, Peter and Mike passed away Poor Micky Dolenz is now the only one left. I know he'll keep monkeeing around until the day he rejoins his band mates up in the circle sky

      i was lucky enough to see mike, micky and peter in 2012 not long after davy died. it was a very emotional show. then a couple of years later i saw the micky and peter show. finally in 2021 i saw the final show of mike and micky's farewell tour at the greek theater in los angeles. mike passed away a few short weeks later. i've been a monkees fan since the tv show debuted in 1966 so seeing their last concert was like coming full circle (sky).

      @@DannyD714 Thanks for sharing Danny I've been a Monkees fan since I saw the reruns on MTV I first saw Davy perform in Washington PA in 2006 along with Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners and Jimmy Ross and the Jaggerz, then I saw Davy Peter and Micky in Pittsburgh during their 45th anniversary tour Then a year after Davy died I met Peter, Micky and many people at the Monkees convention including some of their guest stars from their show and some of the Brady Bunch In 2014 I saw Peter and Micky again with Mike in Pittsburgh In 2018 I met Mike at Steel City Con a few weeks after he had quadruple bypass surgery Then in 2021 I met up with Micky again at Steel City Con before he and Mike finished their farewell tour

      @@alishadoutt5422 that's cool! i never got to meet any of them personally. i probably would have been too star struck to say anything lol. the first time i saw them was the 20th anniversary reunion tour in 1986. it was just davy,peter and micky,but mike did join them for the last show of that tour. they played with herman's hemits,the grass roots and another band i can't remember. i missed seeing micky solo last year. i hope i get another chance.

    I was 14 when they came out. I loved Davy Jones and on my 15th birthday my mom got me my first album. I was so happy. I was madly in love with Davy. I took my album out if its sleeve and would kiss Davy and say i love you Davy. Everynight. Lol

    I love that Kirshner said the Monkees "went right down the tubes" without him. Lol. Look at all they accomplished without him, not the least of which was their amazing 50th anniversary album "Good Times". Don lived in his own world where he was the greatest! 😅

      he rejected nesmith's "different drum" saying it wasn't a monkees song to which mike replied, "but i am one of the monkees!" so mike gave it to the stone poneys who had a massive hit with it. way to go genius !

    It left out Mike Nesnith's departure in 1969 and the split between Jones and Dolenz in 1970. When the other 2 reunited with Boyce and Hart, they could not use the name Monkees into their act, and the public did not buy it.

    Watching this back as an adult, Davy was such a bitter, pompous jackass..."Who knows what's going to happen in the future, but I can assure you..there's no more Monkees for me" 2 years later he was back touring with them.

      I met him not too long before he died and he was delightful, kind and most respectful to other musicians on the tv show being taped at that time. I was not a performer, but was there with friends who were. I was very impressed with him. A truly nice man.

      in 2012, after davy died, mike toured with peter and micky in his memory. i went and it was a very emotional show. in 2021 mike and micky traveled the u.s. to honor the legacy of their music,and their band mates peter and davy in a farewell tour. i was at the last show of that tour. mike was in poor health, using an oxygen tank backstage between songs,and in fact died a few weeks after the tour ended. he didn't need to do that (as you said he didn't need the money),but he did it for the fans. over the years mike joined the others when his scheduled permitted. to say he didn't care is a lie.

    • @spiritnme7772
      @spiritnme7772 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not True, He loved them all! You need to read and watch Mike's interviews! I have that is why I tell others to do that and then you get the reality of their lives! Peter quit the band when they were touring concerts! They did one album without Peter! Then they each went on with their own careers!
