  • This is a tour of cabin 5237 on Carnival Panorama, which is a type of stateroom known as a Havana Cabana. To me, these Havana Cabanas are the most desirable cabins on the entire ship. There are only 23 of them on the entire ship.
    These Havana cabanas are unique because instead of having a traditional balcony, they have a patio, with a swing. But more importantly, from the gate on the patio, you are just steps away from the quiet, un-crowded Havana sun deck and pool area.... which features two hot tubs and a swimming pool that are solely for the use of guests who have booked cabins in the Havana area of the ship.
    Carnival Panorama is one of three Vista-class ships in the Carnival fleet which feature these Havana Cabanas just steps away from the exclusive Havana pool area on deck five aft. Most of the the passengers onboard the ship do not have access to this area, making it a quiet, un-crowded oasis that only guests in Havana cabins have access to.
    The video also briefly shows a Havana Suite, a larger stateroom that features a tremendously larger bathroom and shower. You can see a full video tour of one of the Havana Suites at • Havana Suite 5233 Cabi...

    I sailed the Panorama May 7 to 14, 2022. I stayed in room 5231. I put the chair under the desk, outside. The room steward told me there was no storage area for them. I put the oval table under the desk so we had adequate walking room and didn't kick our toes on anything to go to the bathroom at night. Going out the patio to the pool is the fastest way to get there, but the sliding door doesn't lock from the outside. You have to go through the Havana Bar if you are security conscious. Yes, I could hear the band in the Havana Bar, but not very much. Mostly creaks from the patio partitions outside and a little bit from the hangers in the closet hitting each other (fixed that). No, the card readers are still not working on the inbound side, but yes, you can exit. I am in a facebook group for the specific dates we went. Many people with these rooms were complaining about the soot from the barbeque place falling on their patios and making them unusable. We didn't get any soot until the day were were leaving and fortunately it was one blob. Notice that in this video, the bed is made for a couple. My friend and I had the beds separated and there was 6 INCHES between the beds. You can move the table in front of the couch, but if you move the bed over, it gives you less room to walk to the bathroom at night without hitting the bed on your way there. At $1,800+ EACH, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE ROOMS for two single people. It was nice having a pool to ourselves at the back of the ship!

    Great video, Jim. There weren't any outlets next to the bed on Navigator, either. I now carry an extra long USB cable with me so I can charge and still have the phone next to me.

    I like Jim's review of the Havana Cabana. While I have not booked one on the Vista class, I do gave one booked on the Carnival Jubilee in Galveston based on his review. Until then, I will enjoy the music and Mojitos in the Habana bar area.

    Hi! Jim I was wondering do you hear any noise from the Havana Club and bar. Thanks for the very informative videos

    • @JimZim
      @JimZim  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Didn't hear a thing from the band in the Havana Bar, which surprised me. I thought the room would be noisy, since it's fairly close to the Havana bar and a band plays there... but it was not.

    Hi Jim, love your video of Carnival Panorama. We have sailed her once before and are booked again this July. I want to book again for next July and am looking at the Havana Cabana. Can you tell me the different ways to access the Havana indoor bar. Other than using your balcony, is there a walkway from the main cabin door or do you have to go thru where the elevators are. Thank you!

    • @JimZim
      @JimZim  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your cabin is on the starboard side of the ship, going past the elevators is the only way to get to the Havana bar without going outside.
      But if you book a cabin on the port side of the ship, there's a back way to access the Havana bar without going past the elevators or going outside.
      If you look closely at the deck plans, I think you'll see what I'm talking about.

    Good point. I called MSC and they couldn’t tell me. One MSC studio interior showed a somewhat thin but not super thin looking mattress. It was MSC but not euribia. So I can’t say for sure the bed is the same.
    Is a balcony studio at $1700 vs an interior deluxe $1200 worth the $500 difference over 8 days?

    • @JimZim
      @JimZim  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would certainly never stay in an interior cabin if it only cost $500 to upgrade to a balcony!

    At the end of the row of Cabanas there is a brown door that seperates the Ocean Plaza deck from the Havana area. Do you know if it is usable by guests, or is it staff only?

    • @JimZim
      @JimZim  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they are usable by guests... but sometimes only in the outbound direction. In other words, you can exit out of the Havana area through those doors... but I'm not sure if you can always get back in to the Havana area through those doors. There are card readers on the outside, and you would normally use your keycard to unlock the door to let you back in to the Havana area... but I think last time I was onboard I noticed that they had disabled those card readers. So, you can get out of the Havana area through those doors, but you have to come back in through the center of the ship.
      Maybe those card readers were just broken, though... and by the time you get aboard, they might be working.

    I love the idea of the cabana but is there a security issue? I worry that people will try to access the rooms from the sliding door.

    • @JimZim
      @JimZim  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can easily lock the sliding door if you're worried about it. Personally, I wasn't worried about it. Cruise ship passengers don't tend to go around entering balconies and testing the doors to see if one is unlocked so that they can go in and steal stuff. There are way too many security cameras on cruise ships for it to be a good place to commit burglary. I simply closed my balcony door and walked down to the Havana pool area and enjoyed my vacation. There was never a problem.

    Jim, I know this question is not related to this video.
    On MSC euribia, they have studio balcony rooms. Do you know what the sofa bed looks like? Is the mattress thick or really thin? Coiled or memory foam?
    Is it a pull out sofa bed or a flip over sofa bed ? I’m trying to gauge if it will be comfortable to sleep in for 7 nights. There are only 4 balcony studios on the whole ship and I clicked on one that was amazingly available.
    Could you help me on this question please thanks?

    • @JimZim
      @JimZim  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm afraid that I don't know. I've only ever been on one cruise with MSC, and won't be sailing with them ever again. It's not for me. I think the best place for you to ask the question would be on someone's TH-cam video about MSC studio balconies.

    For the price and lack of amenities in the state room makes me think that I will pass on it. The shower curtain is a deal breaker.

      It sounds like you'd be better off in a Havana Suite, instead of a Havana Cabana. Take a look at this tour of a Havana Suite: th-cam.com/video/-zXHBTr0kNc/w-d-xo.html
      Regarding the Havana Cabanas...
      The extra money you're paying for a cabin like this is not for a fancier cabin itself, it's for the access it gives you to the Havana pool, hot tubs, sun deck, and outdoor bar... which the vast majority of passengers on this ship are not allowed to use. But, if you want access to those things AND you want a much nicer cabin, then a Havana Suite, not a Havana Cabana, is for you.
