I don't understand why anyone would overlook any of the charms, strikes, or hot springs. What I think most players overlook is their travels outfit (also boosts material gains), hunting animals, and boosting their quiver. The travelers outfit, at full power also boosts resources. Killing deer and other animals gives you leather and predator hides. Finally... Here's the thing about the bow, the short bow and the long bow. There striking power doesn't matter. With the short bow, even with no upgrades, a head shot to an unhelmeted head is an instant kill shot. The long bow kills anyone with a headshot, helmeted or not. But both only have so many arrows. To truely increase the effectiveness of either bow, they need more arrows, not damage per arrow. And for that you need to upgrade the quiver at a trapper.
1. Stand on a rooftop and throw a firecracker into some white pampas grass to attract multiple enemies
2. Shoot the grass with a flaming arrow
3. Cackle like a maniac as they all catch on fire

No worries! took me a while on my first playthrough to realize that, too 😁 For anyone wondering how to do that, you need to go into gameplay options and toggle the loadout setting on. Sorry I forgot to show that in the video.

I have to say, the melee system in this game has to be one of the most satisfying ones I've ever played; it handles group combat incredibly well (particularly in the latter areas) as well as some of the most satisfying 1 on 1 duels of any game.
Yup! It’s sorta similar to Sekiro, but much more forgiving.

Idk about bosses, played lot's of souls-like games and not feeling like i'm becoming better with GoT bosses, just rolling for a lucky try. For example in Lies of Pi you would feel like you really mastering bosses patterns
This is hands down the best melee system to date. In terms of reality and satisfaction, esp. on Lethal difficulty.
Simple trick to remember which stance to adopt based on the PS5 controller: Spear (sharp & pointy)= Triangle. Shield (round & shieldy) =Circle. Twin swords (Erm… = X button for 2 crossed swords and finally Brute (massive & blocky) = Square button. Easy to remember. 👍
Honestly, you unlock all forms progressively over the course of the game. You probably won’t have trouble remembering what counters what

This method of thinking helped me immensely early on with memorizing the stances. It's a truly great tip and I'm glad the devs were insightful enough to follow this pattern. Even after 500+ hours I still sometimes get confused during high-stress situations and have to think "circle button is like a little shield. Bingo."
@@anouaragbere4311 The tip isn't about which stance counters what enemy type, it's about which button each stance is assigned to.
Helpful on controller. I play on mouse and keyboard so i have to just use muscle memory
My biggest mistake by far is that i get caught up in combat and forget all of the cool gadgets and abilities i have. It's like my brain goes into button mash mode. So frustrating.
i'm 80+ hours (legit version) (120+ if you count the cracked one) and i'm still not proefficient with these gadget's but i'm getting there, i'm trying new way to approach camps etc and it's hella fun to create builds that goes along with what i want to do
There's almost too many gadgets and options. I can kill an enemy from cover in so many different ways, and I usually end up putting an arrow in their brain to thin out the numbers before going ghost on them, flinging kunai when I need to...
It always takes me so long to remember what combination of buttons to push to get so-and-so weapon, that I tend to just say "screw it" and sword fight everyone. Even then you still have to remember the stances.

When exploring, there's a yellow bird that can help you discover things.
Also, traveler's attire causes firefly to show up when nearby artifacts are around - use the flash and rumble frequency to find the artifacts.
Amother skill i recommend getting as early as possible is the chain assassinate, if your being stealthy its very helpful for taking out up to 3 enemies at once
There was one quest for the warrior monk where all the enemies were in groups of three. Never had an easier quest.

Also, one thing to not do is button smash on high diff duels, the AI input reads you and will punish when you button smash.
IF i have to YT guide to find out this, piece of info then the game is not as enjoyable for me as it is for u ... i´m at the beginning of the game at after 4-5 battles, i had enough of it ... too complex for me ( maybe i need a break, or maybe i'm fatigued ) by these complex games, don´t really know, but what i do know is that THIS GAME is not for me ...

@@DJ-zr6ygtrue that, not to mention I was eldenrolling the fuck out of all my early battles as well as just running. You should feel a bit overwhelmed, you got to put the hours in to build your skill and parry/dodge timing. After about 90 hours nothing feels better than being able to cleanly fight multiple attackers and give them the business

You mean, +100 hours of gameplay. Fps doesnt matter, honestly.
Fps do matter to have a fluid experience ... sure bragging about how many fps we got is kinda pointless but i do prefer enjoying the game at a good fps rather than shity ones ... especially when a few options can make a huge difference without destroying visual quality.
For instance i'm running the game at around 144fps 1080p, pretty much everything on max settings except fog high, shadows high and fog medium as it look the best in cutscenes etc. i would hate to play at 60 or less with theses settings.

@@kevinerickson84 I finally got around to it lol. I basically did everything I could possibly do in the lower island, found every shrine, every pillar of honor, etc then did the same thing in act 2. Now I’m in act 3.
Playing the flute changes the weather, based on the song you play. Also, to clear the fog of war efficiently, do the enemy camps colored with red to reveal area around them. If u do them all, it clears the fog in the whole region.
How do you play the flute and bow I see it pop up then disappear straight away
@@AnthonyHeeneyits just a swipe on the touchpad. left for flute right for sword. dont do anything after the swipe as it can cancel the action
I made it 95% of the way through the game before I saw the armor set toggle in the options.
I just sat there and stared at my monitor for a few seconds.

I bought a PS4 just to play this game when it came out in 2020. Once I 100% it, I sold the PS4 and never played the DLC. So naturally, I bought it again on my PC and currently in the DLC with my NG+ from my old PS4 save.

I just finished my second playthrough on my PS5. If you are wondering when to go to Iki Island, I suggest going to the island when you are 1/2 to 3/4 finished the second act. What you get there is not only more skill points to use and some interesting amour but also abilities and armor for your horse. Play Iki to the end and collect everything you can (note one shrine you won't be able to complete until after the end of the second act due to an armor set you will get then and the shrines just give you some cool cosmetics).
This: This is the way.
As soon as it opens go there. Your combat on Tsushima will improve and you will be able to leave Ikki with the horse armor, pirate armor etc.
Extra arrows and ghost weapons on the horse really helps too

Great video. If anyone needs to hear this. I believe u can unlock or almost unlock every stance before the end of act 1 if u observe then kill the Mongol leaders in every camp. Its that many points of u realize this from the first one. Its honestly crazy how much u can actually do before opening the second side of the map
As someone who can call themself a veteran at Ghost of Tsushima (I finished the game 4 times on the hardest difficulty, yes there was a hit less run) I came to see how much usefull the informations in this video would be. To my surpirse they are indeed good tips for people who want to play the game for the first time.
There’s also a charm that makes your wind chimes release a vapor of poison that kills the enemy! Up to 8 easy/free kills

Majority of enemies have a what I call a kill strike when they open them selves up with their weapon strikes. You strike right before they strike but you need the correct stance for it to work

hey you forgot to mention that the windchimes can be poisonous too if you equip the Charm of Toxic demise. so when ever one or more enemies are close enough it will released a poison cloud that will kill them on the spot, I have taken up to 4 enemies with one single windchime it is very useful in large combat scenarios if you like playing stealth.
Wait, outfits save what charms you equip?
Go to settings and find the “armor load out” button

Learn how to Perfect Parry. Slap on the Sarugami gear. Have fun :D (very useful to train if you want to complete the game on Lethal and Lethal +)
One more thing about wind chime is that there is a charm called Toxic Demise which allow your wind chime to be poisonous and pretty much kill enemy that step on it. 2 enemy itf they close enough. Pair with Ghost armor and others charm that boost % and terrify is definitely quite useful
6:18 a faster way to take out enemies on higher difficulties if you dont have a lot of damage upgrades is breaking their guard with the correct stance heavy combo, switching to another stance and using heavy charged attack. This will kill enemies very quickly. The charged stab from stone does 3 very quick, hard hitting strikes, water stance has its 5 hit combo, wind stance has its typhoon kick which when upgrade can knock enemies down, opening them up for instant kills, and moon stance has its triple spin attack
Now that explains why I couldn't observe the mondgol leader at a camp. I heard before that you should observe them before you kill them, but I didn't know you can only observe if the objective is there.
Pretty sure that the only 'observable' leaders are the ones that are practicing their fighting. So you observe and learn their fight moves, basically. Pretty sure that the ones that are not practicing are not observable.
I’ve come across some in my current playthrough that were practicing and I still couldn’t observe them, but I swear you used to be able to observe them all (this is my third playthrough), so I’m wondering if they changed something?
@@MetalGrrrl Yeah, if you are playing New Game+, I don't think that you can observe any leaders that you already observed in a previous play-though. Since you likely have already learned the stance that you observed, I'm pretty sure that the option is removed.
You can observe them even without it being an objective.
Other people have said that, too, but I don’t think it works. At least not anymore. It does seem like you need the objective.
I think the first charm every player should get is Mizu-no-Kami at the Spring Falls Shrine right after the first stealth mission with Yuna. It's a short distance away, and can be a huge aid in learning parry and dodge timings.
Turn on loadouts in the options menu, that allows you to make a build per armos, so you dont have to spend long in the menu when you swap between fighting/sneaking/archery builds

If you want to win the Ikki tournament and defeat the eagle you got to learn ghost stances/long hold on x or y
You have to learn how to time it. Smoke bomb is your best ghost weapon after it’s fully unlocked and you have chain assassination. You can one shot multiple enemies and the smoke actually heals you. It’s pretty much a cheat code if you get swarmed
Yay, Ark, you're playing GoT now too!! Just in time to be the calming voice of reasoned strategy. I'm almost 50 hours in now, and I cannot stress how much upgrading the short bow asap made a difference, along with tossing a couple of spec points in its skill tree. It's a godsend when farming for precious predator hides early on. The longbow does not come to you until many many hours in, and while it's a powerful beast it is more situational. Like the difference between the hunters bow and the sharpshooter in HFW.
Always be gathering resources, follow the golden birds, and don't skimp on petting the sweet little foxes!
I barely got a ps again, I don't really play games anymore, But this game shot me back into gaming hard. I beat about half of it without caring for armors or charms. I was using the traveler's attire as well and now that I actually use the good stuff I had to put it on hard haha
I actually did miss the heavenly strike of all other mythic techniques, there's one thing I'd like to ask, that is after ACT 1 and ends and yarikawa is freed, can we still find the heavenly strike or not? As I wasn't able to, after ACT 1, the golden bird let me somewhere again and again, where I found nothing and noone to talk to beside the waterfall
Great video! The charms for certain outfit thing is great and I only just found out recently. But I have to say, hearing every native English speaker struggle to say "Tsushima" will alway put a smile on my face haha

The best ghost weapon, in my opinion, is the wind chime coupled with the charm of tixic demise. I try to throw it into a crowd of Mongols, and when one of them gets close to it, it can take down a few of them
I'm actually doing a play through right now wearing only the broken armor. No charms, no upgrades. I don't use ghost weapons only clan sakai steel. On hard. I have beat the game on lethal but that is time consuming. Such a great game.
What do you mean "slept on the half bow"? It's really great and the first bow you get, the long bow is only really intended for later, armored enemies (excluding the archers)
I have a problem with completing one area before moving onto the next so this was kind of surprising to me that some people didn't know this stuff.
Don't think it was mentioned but you can stack minor charms if you want to double it's effectiveness so for example if you have 2x Charms of Dual Destruction in your inventory you can use two slots to double it's strength. I remember thinking that 'oh this is just a duplicate that I don't need.
Just like in Horizon: Forbidden West, I like concentration builds. I built my bow in Tsushima so well I took out like seven men in one concentration. There's a charm if I remember that added three seconds to concentration from head shots. It was awesome. I need to play that game for a third time.

Hey man, I've seen you quite a bit, but I have a suggestion for you: have you ever considered doing content on the Horizon franchise at some point? It's quite good, and I think you'd like it. I've seen your playing of no rest for the wicked, and now Ghost of Tsushima, and I think that it'd benefit you quite a bit to reach out and make content on something new, like said Horizon franchise :)
As a guy who Platinum’d this game and replayed it way too many times out of boredom: Here’s some mistakes I did that I hope some people out there did as well lol
1. Don’t forget - you’re breaking your code. I always go in fights and YOLO everytime, and always forget I’m the Ghost with Kunais and WOTF. In most of my playthroughs, I rarely used my utilities, I don’t even use my bow.
2. Fully upgrading your tanto - Might as well save those extra resources for your katana rather than making your Tanto level 3.
3. Resolve’s More Important - unless you’re playing easy or medium diff; resolve’s going to help you more in harder difficulties. You can have max health in Hard or Lethal and you’ll die if you get hit 3 to 4 times. In my first playthrough(Hard), I deeply regret fighting Temuge with 5 resolve with the max health you can get in that act. I died so much in that fight.
4. Mizu No Kami charm. No explanation needed. Unless you’re good af. Played my whole first playthrough without even knowing this charm existed. Saved me a bunch when going for platinum.
Regarding wind chimes there is also a charm that makes them work like a triggered poison bomb as well
When its your first time playing set game to HARD this make its soo much more fun. I had no ides that gear could hold their own custom charms. I thought charms was set for all gear because when you switch gear the charms dont get removed. Here I was thinking you had to pick what gear and charms as your play style for the whole game. Everything else in the video I learn when playing it looks like 99% of players are skipping the games text teaching you as you play.
You can always observe Mongol Leaders for the extra point. It doesn't have to be a camp objective.

There is a charm that makes the wind chimes poisonous you don’t even need to assassinate the enemy just throw somewhere where other can’t see and the one you want the dead can see it is soo useful and OP for uoutposts
This could have been helpful two years ago LMAO when I first played it I thought the game ends when you rescue shimura but I was SO wrong got stuck on one of Ryuzo's missions bc I kept trying a different stance everytime I died and just rage quite and never touched it.but NOW I completed the story plus all 18 of Masako's and Isikawa's tales and find my self rapidly switching between stances spamming sticky bombs next to barrels to make a domino effect and I have never tried or liked stelf but maybe I grew as a gamer or GOT stealth is just THAT good 😊
stances doesnt really affect Ranged enemy category. unless you go fancy on Wind Stance Typhoon kick.
Short Bow: If you Build Poison Archer build. You can well. One shot except duels.
"A short distance away" - lol. The only thing I hated about the adorable little foxes was that some of them dragged us 3 zip codes away for a stinkin' shrine! 😂
Luckily you can just fast travel back to the fox den you originated from.
@@Joker_JAK it was more due to the handful of follows that were so far from his tree you'd be out of breath twice before reaching the shrine, lol. Just one of those things that takes time that I think could've been closer to the dens. Thankfully it wasn't all of them!

I always go for looks rather that buffs for the armor i use, for example i like using the ronin or traveler suits (i just don't like how the samurai clan armor looks without the shimura colors or the sakai armor in general, looks waaaay to bulky for me) btw i like the very many, can relate
If you use the charm of demise, the wind chimes will be toxic and kill whoever picks them up (or stand above them)
Playing on PC now that it's out. The only real stance is just wait for the enemy to come to you. Obviously archers and those who throw bombs are separate, but apparently the game will switch to new NPCs so they attack you, but the old NPC still has its attack interest too, resulting in them 'ganging' up on you. However, if you just stand there the game prioritizes one over others, and they tend to attack one at a time. I've yet to encounter a NPC who isn't easily defeated/parried/etc with whichever stance I am in. I only uses 'stances' for the visuals.
Clearing out entire camps in stealth was so much fun in this game. Poison wind chimes OP. 🤣 Hope you're doing well Arktix!

You can completely bypass the wind skills and just wander around and check the question marks on the map i didnt get any of the wind upgrades but i have maxed everything just by wandering around lol its fun

Pro tip: The wind chime + The Charm of Toxic Demise = A lot of stealthy and long-distance kills. I have killed at least 4 enemies by throwing the chimes almost simultaneously in different directions and unless another enemy sees them die, it´s completely silent.
I definitely think spending technique points on Guiding Wind items is a waste. You find all the fox dens and such just from exploring. I didn't unlock any of the Guiding Winds until I had all my other upgrades maxed out (which I did before the end of Act 2).

I did a lot of side quests so i had to pump up difficulty to lethal because i was now overpowered

I have Xbox elite with butterfly triggers and still used the left button to parry lol
Very important: plug the controller in if you pc is elevated. I was getting input delay right under (my pc is close to the roof) it. Also don’t use your trigger short stops unless you adjust it. It slows down the right trigger menu and I have know idea why 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
5:14 hold up ya gotta tell me about this alternate control scheme for your stances man, I'm looking to try some other ideas since there are times the trigger just doesn't respond like I want to

Fun fact: There are TWO mythic combat arts you can unlock during Act 1, you mentioned Heavenly Strike but you can also do the Curse of Uchitsune questline which gives you access to explosive arrows!

The short bow is particularly broken on Lethal difficulty (which is kind of weirdly balanced in general). When upgraded it one-shot kills like half of the enemy types with body shots (and I think the heavy bow 1-shot kills *everything*).
Of course, killing enemies that way is pretty boring so I only do it when an encounter looks like it might be difficult without thinning out the enemies.
I just realized that I played the latter half of the game WITHOUT ANY charms. I thought they are equipped on the character instead of the outfit. Why am I even watching this video? Who am I? What is the meaning of life?

Complete Inari Shrine on act 1 until you acquire the Charm of Inari's might which gives health and melee damage. Completing all inari shrine including act 3 will upgrade Charm of Inari's might to massive health and melee damage boost.

I think the wind upgrades are silly, a gold bird shows me literally every one of those things so I think 'wasting' technique points on the wind isn't useful

Short bow low key better than longbow. Fire arrows are better than explosive imo
Observe the leader work on every leader regardless if you got the bonus objectives or not, just sneak up to him, observe him then do whatever mission on got. By doing that you can unlock all 4 stand before you finish the first act

I know this isn’t a “tip” but should have said that swords are just purely cosmetic because I personally thought they had a perk (unless you already did)
