Thank you for explaining this. I am looking at a 1993 F250. The owner says the rear tank is not functioning. If I get the truck I will follow these steps to trouble shoot it.

Your 1993 will be a little different than the 1991 and older. I have another video explainng how the 1992 through 1997 duel fuel tanks work.

1991 f 250 4x4. 300. 6 cylinder 5. Speed. Back tank fills front tank. Why?

tank selector valve is stuck. there are several videos on that repair

@@courage1957 there is no valve just a electrical switch. I believe the switch just switches pumps.

its an inside tank (likely) , on pump chech valve
if not then its a shuttle valve
if u want to fix the selector spray wd40 under the gaskey and push selector up and down. just threw the top back on your need gasket maker. should select fine after that

Both fuel tank gauges don’t work. But both tanks let the truck run.
