    I moved from Texas to a village by Wetheim Germany with my parents for 3 years. I was 15 or 16..my dad worked on an U.S. Army base there.. we traveled extensively: London, Paris, Amsterdsm, Florence, Zermatt, when we moved back I got kinda depressed.. no more Europe, nomore culture, nomore Medieval buildings and histor..back to East Texas..

    THANK YOU SO MUCH for your positive shoutout to Kassel - one of the touristically most underrated cities in GER. I was born in Bremen (close to Oldenburg) and now domiciliate in Frankfurt (somewhat close to Kassel) in the state of Hesse. Sure hoping to welcoming you in GER again soon!

    I feel you. Germany withdrawal is a real thing! I last lived in Germany in 2017/2018 and last visited in summer 2018. I still miss it. Still daydream about it. Remembering driving on the small village roads through the hills. Grabbing yummy pastries from the bakery. I wonder if I will get back one day. No plans as of now.

    Iam Happy to see you again😁I've been following you some years ago. You seem to be suffering a lot from not being in Germany anymore, do yourself a favor and change that as soon as possible. You shouldn't put your life above that of your dogs, you only have this life! Because the older you get, the more difficult it becomes to cope with changes in your life
    , happy new year 🥳🥳

    So good to see you. You wanna come back for a while in the future. Like you mentioned, one of the best things about germany is that it is in the middle of Europe. So find a cozy space maybe on the country side next to a bigger city as a hub and then do camper van or other trips from there to see more of Europe :-)

    15:20 Oh yeah, dating multiple people at the same time is a strange topic. I am aware that the nature of modern dating, especially with the online component, means that one should go a "multi pronged approach"...but I just can't. As soon as there is the slightest idea of romantic intentions, it feels fundamentally wrong not to focus on that person.

    Hey, German expat in the US here. Totally get the dating thing criticism. The culture is quite different here, and I'm not buying into that, and I told the women I went out with that in the past as well. I think it may be off-putting to some, don't know, but I am very blunt about things like that. Maybe that is my ADHD (oh, 7-shot espresso moka in the morning works for me), or just being raised German, but that is an absolute no-go to waste time on someone who does not have a relationship as goal.
    PS: I was wondering if you could find a German expat group to hang out with for your German? I mean, I live in San Antonio, Texas, my sis one county over, and I know she has a German group she visits with once in a while.

    You should speak German to your dogs. 😀 While you probably won't get a response from your puppies in German, it might help you retain your language skills...? And you can tell them anything you want with out most people knowing what you are saying.
    BTW: You might like talking with FelifromGermany. She has a channel on TH-cam as well, and she has sort of the opposite side... She and her boyfriend live in Cincinnati, OH, but Feli is from Munich, Germany and he is American. You could probably compare first time experiences, culture shocks and reverse culture shocks... and even discuss how your relationship to you boyfriends are opposite as well. I actually discovered your channel today from listening to one of her videos... where this video was a recommendation in the "you might also like" category. She ends her videos with Tschuss.. which I always thought sounded like "Cheers" as an American. 🙂

      The maximum age to become an air traffic controller is 24

    • @dennismundt7378
      @dennismundt7378 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@soggy_popcorn It was just a suggestion of what she should look like. I don't know how old she is. She can try it out and apply. She has nothing to lose and a lot to gain. In Germany, there was the coronavirus and the lockdown. There is an acute shortage of skilled workers in Germany, and age doesn't matter. And if she applies for a job in Germany as a foreigner from a friendly country, she shouldn't be discriminated against. And her mother tongue is English, which will also open many doors for her in Germany with international companies where English is spoken. Her 4 years of experience in Germany are worth a bonus. Perhaps she still has good contacts in Germany that will make it easier for her to get started. She should do something that has to do with airports, airplanes, international handling of cargo planes in the commercial sector and international logistics, where a lot of English is spoken. She should just give it a try if she wants to live in Germany again.

    Well I am around your age, I am German and I think you are right, if you want to get to know a person it is way nicer to dedicate yourself to that, not giving 10 people 10% of your attention each. Although I can't really talk about dating today, cause I haven't been dating anyone since 2016/2017. Had a shitty break up and thought to myself, I'm gonna take care of myself and my mental struggles before I date again. Has taken quite a bit longer than I expected. I will try dating again, quite soon actually, at which point I will be able to testify to the truthfulness of my statement regarding modern dating.

So many English words used by Germans, but very few German words used by English....you can start a trend 🙂 And, I'm sure you will make it back, if you miss Germany enough. There will always be a dog(s) sitter available or maybe new mode of transport where we can travel freely with our pets.

    Hey, wie schön, dass mir mal wieder ein Video von Dir in die timeline gespült wurde. Hoffe du kommst noch mal wieder zurück, Hunde fühlen sich auch hier sehr wohl!
