    Excellent work!!!
    ✓Please make a bit longer video of recording complete procedures you are following to make files for your case study. It will help the viewers to follow and do their own tasks independently.

    Hey there, thanks for the video! A question: how should I identify the value of D given the pore size and the porosity? Thanks!

      Hi, I myself did some try and error to identify my desired D. It's a bit complicated than that you can also use'F' therm which I put to "0", but you can also change that number to have your suitable porosity and pore.
      Thare are also other examples in openFoam which may be better for your problem. Also try other solvers if this didnt work.

    Hi thanks for uploading such a useful video, I have a Question is it possible to add porous media in Foam-extend(fe40) version? if so how. i want to use for visco-elastic models.

      Thanks for your pleasing comment. Unfortunately, I have not tried extended version, but you can give it a try and it may work.

    Hey, nice video!
    I have also tried out some porous media cases in past with some issues. When I simulate a rectangular pipe with porous media, inlet and outlet zone, I get fluctuations of velocity close the the porous media borders. Due to this, the pressure increses before porous media and reaches negatvie values after it before reaching 0 Pa.
    Which fvSolutions/fvSchemes etc. did you use? Do you have the same issues? I get this problem even with simpleFoam and porousSimpleFoam.
    Thx in advance.

      Hi Christian
      No, I didn't have same issue.
      as you know there lots of porous media problems and you should use the correct one depend on your problem. I used darcy forchheimer which is based on navier stocks equation.
      here is the fvScheme file:
      ddtSchemes
      {
      default Euler;
      }
      gradSchemes
      {
      default Gauss linear;
      }
      divSchemes
      {
      default none;
      div(phi,U) Gauss LUST grad(U);
      div((nuEff*dev2(T(grad(U))))) Gauss linear;
      }
      laplacianSchemes
      {
      default Gauss linear uncorrected;
      }
      interpolationSchemes
      {
      default linear;
      }
      snGradSchemes
      {
      default uncorrected;
      }

    Hi... I am trying to get this in openfoam. I am not able to get this. Can i know what is solver used your case?
    I used interFaom, but Coraunt number is exploding.. i get an error "floating-point-exception-core-dumped"
    Can you give any suggestions about this ?
    Thank you

      I used the same solver, but I don't know what is the problem of your case

    First of all, thanks for the video. If I define a block to cover the surface with the "wall" boundary condition, will this surface with the "wall" boundary condition also be porous? Thx in advance.

    • @RezaAlijani_RA
      @RezaAlijani_RA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't get your question completely, but if you want to define a block with porous media which acts like wall, you can increase the coefficient D, in that case porous media behaves like a wall

      @@RezaAlijani_RA I have been studying cavity flow problem. In my previous analyses, the rear wall of the cavity had the "wall" boundary condition. I want the rear wall to be porous. Can I do this with the method in the video? thx in advance.

      No, in this method you can't change the boundary condition of the porous media to the best of my knowledge.
