When I started out, I used to paint like this; I liked painting small details and art instructors would say, "you are painting the suggestion of...., use bigger brushes....make bigger strokes....paint what you see". Well, I "saw" details and I like painting them, so I went back to what I like and I'm a better painter for it.
Same. In elementary and even high school, teachers were nervous why am I so slow. During an hour, every student has drawn the whole picture, then got a good grade, even it looked bad. Meanwile, I've managed to do just a sketch. :D I almost got the worst grade just because they couldn't see my finished drawing/painting quickly. Now I realise how silly this is. I am still a slow painter, concentrated on details. I've tried some Bob Ross techniques to save some time or to make things easier, but I don't feel comfortable with that way of painting.

Nothing wrong with doing it in detail especially if it gives you the results you're looking for. It's always good to learn something new and we're always learning. I painted a lion head in high school in detail, it took way too long. I didn't get the ribbon I was hoping for because of that but I would do the same all over again. It's eyes follow you, I have had so many compliments. A guy in school who took an home course painting a deer. It looked like it could jump from the painting. Was in great detail and a friend that paints the same way has sold hundreds of copies of his work, they're absolutely amazing. Do the way you like if it makes you happy! Keep painting
What we see being created in just a matter of 5 mins. Might have taken weeks if not days for d super talented artist 2 make / produce. And now that's call real and pure art and talent... Such impressive artistic skills... Can't beleive some1 could be so impressive... May God Bless him... and may he always be happy nd always grow nd prosper... 💗

It's those small details that give art life. Art instruction rarely leads to an individual style, keep painting like you do.
