I moved to full frame to cope with dynamic range. My Olympus cameras occasionally struggled, especially in scenes where there were holes of brightness in the sky. Also, I agree with you about OMS - Olympus in the day were innovators, and now OMS appear to just be re-packaging old technology. With your Sony system don't forget that you can use Sigma e-mount lenses too, and not just Sony. My full frame 61mpx Sigma fpL is also smaller than the E-M1, albeit without IBIS and other functions that OM-D users benefit from.
Thanks for the comments Huw, I touch on benefits like the ones you mention in a subsequent part including a wide selection of lenses available for the E mount system. If I wasn't that bothered about photographing moving furry objects, I definitely would have ended up at the L mount door, probably a Lumix S5.
@@ChrisEdgecombePhoto I tried the S5ii at the Photography Show - a very nice camera indeed and very easy to use. I've got one in mind as a backup to my fpL if I ever needed it. For the moment my E-M1iii and 12-100 lens are the backup option, although it would ne handy to have something that would take the l-mount lenses that I have, hence looking at the Lumix as an option.
I was really looking for a more recent video with sony a9
I hope this fit the bill/helped?
