    I just watched your channel for the first time. I really enjoy the simplicity of creating cards without hundreds of dollars of specialty products and dozens of steps. Thank you. I wanted to add that if you print your sentiments out using a laser printer on high quality setting, then you can also foil the entire sheet before cutting them apart or one at a time in a laminator. A lot of libraries use laser printers, because they are so much cheaper than ink jet ink. My local library charges 10 cents per page. They will even help me by putting my cardstock in the printer so I can print to foil.

    What great tips! I have many stencil butters, but always looking for more colors… can’t wait to get the ingredients to try this. And the sentiment hack… fabulous! Just curious why you don’t print them onto heavier paper to begin with… does the ink smudge?… paper not feed??… How fun to customize the font colors…. oh you have inspired me!! Glad Ian did not cause you too much damage, friends South of you are really struggling.🧑🏼‍🎨

      I didn't mention that there is a Matte version of the Golden Heavy Gel, as well. I do have both, but prefer the glossy. You don't have to use the glitter gel, but it sure makes it special! You can color your gels with ink refills or acrylic paints. Have fun with it! As far as the printer. Well, I bought that particular printer because it has a back paper feeder and stated that it could print on yardstick. Well, it only works with card less than 28 pounds. Is that even a thing?? So I made do with what I have. I am so touched that I have inspired you to be adventurous ! I have many friends in south Florida as well. I lived down there for over 30 years. Some have suffered extensive damages and others have had total losses. It's like Hurricane Andrew all over again. It makes me so sad. I hope your friends make it through ok! Stay tuned for an amazing technique I'm working on. I'm hoping to have it perfected by my next video. It's not like anything I've every seen! Thanks for chatting!

    • @villagecardandcrafts
      @villagecardandcrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t been able to find anything like it, but I’d bet that the Golden gel gloss, acrylic paint of your choosing, and a good amount of glitter would work. If it doesn’t have the consistency of buttercream, then I’d thin it with a little water or use a “heavy” gel gloss as opposed to “extra heavy.” You can pretty much add anything to jazz up your gel gloss or matte gel. Happy crafting!

    Most printers will print on 80 lb or less cardstock. So once you have the layout of your sentiments the way you want, just put a sheet or two of cardstock in your printer paper tray or hand feed them and then print the sentiments and then no gluing is required!

    Hi, this is the first video of yours I've seen and think it's great. I went to the Hobby Lobby website and searched for Opal Glitter Medium - all that came up was Opal Glitter Glue in multiple colors. It looks as though the product you were using came out of a jar rather than a bottle, so it seems the opal glitter glue might not be the same product. Do you have a link to the exact product? Thanks very much.

    • @villagecardandcrafts
      @villagecardandcrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching and for your comments! The two products are definitely not the same. I found it near the art/paint section when they were doing their big clearance last month. It is called Masters Touch Opal Glitter Medium. It is a gel base. I looked for a UPC number and it doesn't have one! I'm shocked. However, it is a clear gel similar to the Golden Extra Heavy gel gloss that I used for the base except looser.
      I would expect that holographic or opal glitter would net similar results it added directly to the Golden. If you wanted a thinner gel you could probably get away with "heavy" gel instead of "extra heavy" and just add glitter of your choosing. It's really very versatile. The acrylic paint could also be thinned out with water if you wanted the consistency to be lighter. Have fun and experiment!
