I am happy to report that when I go camping in Northern Ontario in the summer, I hear Whip-Poor-Wills a lot. I love to hear their call when I'm in the tent, getting ready for bed :-)
Nighthawks used to be so abundant in the midwest where I am but I have not seen one, even during migration in many years. I miss that sound of summer and hope it will return.
Great job getting the message out. Keep going.

There is at least one Whip-poor-will in the woods behind my house. I hear it at dusk sometimes when i'm working in the yard.
Sadly, I can confirm whip-poor-wills have disappeared from my area. I continue to see Nighthawks, each summer.
Whipawil is my favorite
