The lack of respect for the RSVP is 100% because you are working with streamers who lack real world behavioral etiquette. These people are blissfully unaware of the amount of work that it takes to create the conveniences around them because they have (for the most part) been bubbled in the streamer world. So many examples big and small everyday of these people completely lacking in the reliability department.

100%. I am also surprised QT only replies to RSVP's IF she is saying yes. I respond both for no and yes so they have a definitive answer without needing to follow up directly or question if I meant to respond and didn't.

Honestly it’s just people being rude!! Helped my sister plan her wedding! Had a link sent to everyone to RSVP and maybe of the 100 people invited 20 RSVPd and 70-90 showed up. And we even put no kids on the invitation and still her own grooms family member brought kids. We also put if they don’t RSVP they don’t get a plate and still people showed up wanting food.

I think a big problem this year was that people did RSVP and say that they were coming, even giving there lists for dietary restrictions, but then they either canceled right before, or just didn't show up.
Meaning that things went to waste(like food) and the show would have looked empty, if she had not found people to fill seats.
If something comes up, you need to reach other ASAP and cancel, so that QT can alter the plans accordingly. Which is so much easier to do before things are payed for. Even if something comes up the week before the event, Telling her then, rather than the day of or not at all, gives her the time to do something(and she has the skill set to do something with that, its not the end of the world to her).

I used to be this person up until 20 years old, I am currently 23, with life experience I learned how this is actually extremely rude and adults spent their own precious time and money to accommodate for me and I just threw that in the trash basically.
It comes from being sheltered, privileged or/and zero social skills and awareness

Next streamer awards, you should continue the RSVP process but if they “no call no show” they should pay a “no call no show service fee” for their dinner and seat that they wasted. That way you don’t lose too much money from their rude behavior.

QT being the host adds an extra layer of depth to the Streamer Awards since you can SEE the investment she has in the event and how much work she puts in. It's HER idea and HER show, and even though the performance may not be where she wants it to be. Theres still something so respectable about somebody doing it all: streaming, planning, and hosting. Plus I feel like it adds an example for other streamers to go out and do crazy cool shit. They can just look at you and think, even though QT is this self critical and nervous about doing something new and the result of that is STREAMER AWARDS; I can cool new shit too.

So, I don’t think that anyone who has to cancel _owes_ QT an explanation.
However, they _do_ owe her as much of a heads up as possible as well as an apology.
An explanation is a really great addition though and it makes their cancellation much more understandable. Even if it’s just, “I had some majorly personal things come up at the last minute that I’d prefer not to delve into right now.”
This is their chance to handle an unfortunate situation as a respectful adult.

@@ddorianisme QT herself questioned if people “owe” her an explanation or not. Which I totally get as it’s a bit of a confusing situation. She’s put in a ton of work and paid for people’s meals. However, I think that there are specific situations in which adults owe other adults explanations for things and they change depending on the details of the situation. (Especially if their reason is personal and/or embarrassing.)
You act as if I was “coming for” QT. I actually love QT. I think she’s hilarious, relatable, gorgeous, and is easily the GOAT when it comes to running/creating events. I was merely commenting on one of the topics at hand. Which is something that adults do. However, I wouldn’t expect you to understand that based off of your extremely immature response. I hope this comes from a place of love, because in the last 3 years theres only been about 5 streams ive watched live. And 3 of them have been The Streamer Awards.
I think people tend to lump the host of the show and the person doing the monologue into 1 because thats how its usually done.
But i could definitely see a situation where you still HOST the event, but much like you had Austin this year doing the floorwork, you could have a guest "host or whatever you wanna call them" do the opening monologue. This would still give YOU the presence on stage as the Host, still allow you to insert some jokes about the awards but take ALOT of pressure off you having to do it all.
I would love to see you go back to doing the floorwork as well, i dont know that many people present have the knowledge you do about all of the various streamers, and i think it would make for an amazing segment. It was one of my favorite moments from the 1st year.
Much like other people have said, i would hate to see you not hosting anymore. And if allowing someone else to do the monologue would allow you to focus on other things, and still host the show, i think that would be amazing.

With the RSVP situation, it was perfectly reasonable for them to feel disrespected by people who didn’t RSVP when they weren’t going to the event they’re being invited to.
The purpose of an invitation with an RSVP is for the inviter to get a count for who will be attending their event *before* the event…not the day of. If you get an invitation from someone with a request to RSVP, you need to let the person know if you will *or* won’t be going as well.

Should just do a "Reservation" instead of RSVP, with a note that if you don't arrive you don't get a invite for next years event. There's a lot of people that could be invited that stream and could boost the event. Don't invite those people that didn't show up again. A few Australians/british ones showed up! You could plan the next one that could be much better with new ideas! You could also invite new streamers that YOU Think that have potential, How many of them wish they could come or even be considered. The idea that Qt doesn’t think she is the most enchanting, hilarious, but also incredibly humble and down to earth person, is insane. There is a reason she is surrounded by some many successful people that adore her, while being very successful herself. I really hope some day she realizes how charismatic she is and why everyone is drawn to her

I don't understand why more streamers don't get behind The Streamer Awards. It's free content. They get a nomination stream, voting stream, easy community interaction duing the voting cycle, travelling vlogs if they get nominated, event video, aftermath stream, highlights videos plus exposure to over 650 thousand people and QT is paying for all of it. Like... guys... cmon.

    • @inflatablepenguin

I just want to throw out a potential compromise for hosting too if QT really wanted to step back a bit but still get the main character experience. She could open and close the show, do her opening monologue then throw it to the award emcees for the show then do the closing speeches at the end. Would give her the best of both worlds.

PLEASE don't stop hosting- one of the things I love so much about the show is that it's female led. Even if you're doing everything behind the scenes, it won't have that same feeling if it's hosted, or co-hosted, by a man.
If you're looking for more options for female co-hosts you could look into the sims streaming community? It's fairly female dominated.

I think it is probably mostly a case of people not understanding what it really meant to RSVP and that this is QT's event not a faceless mega corporation putting on this event.
I definitely try to let people know if I can't make it to something I RSVP'd for and as early as possible. But I also get chronic migraines so sometimes last minute I can't make it, which is also why I kind of dread events in general. I have a lot of experience telling people that I won't make it and I hate it every time, haha

Watching all the other awards shows to stream line the day do two things 1 - pre record the nominees for each category so the presenters can make a few comments and then announce the winner. 2 - you can have that person who records them being the voice just announcing the presenters for select award category that way you and the co-host can come in to do your reads, jokes randomly throughout the show and announce the presenters for the categories you want to do the most that way you don't have to be out there the whole time and stay involved.

Maya gently points this out to QT at one point, but the Streamer Awards are a Very Big Thing now and sometimes I think the way QT downplays the significance and importance of the event (presumably for her own peace of mind, and that is totally ok) might make other people think "Oh hey I guess it's not that big of a deal if I don't show up then." Also, I realize nobody's asking for advice here, but maybe don't assume anybody's coming until you actually get an RSVP, and emphasize when they do the importance of giving at least 48 hours notice if they can't make it.

mind you I am also a standup enjoyer so dif demographic again LMAO

man qt, the monologue was your best performance, it's very clear you can do standup and can handle a lot of nuance and you'll only get better as well (i know it for sure, because you've improving noticeably every year). the only actually awkward parts (and even then it wasn't always true) were you having to read things and especially jokes from the teleprompter, made me miss the standup qt who sounds great and has great timing. dyslexia sucks and i have no idea what's the limit at how good you personally can get at sounding natural reading outloud, but standup qt makes me want you to keep trying and keep hosting. i believe you when you say you notice your own misses, but you're def more charismatic and funny that you think.

There are public speaking classes or even acting class you can take that help with stage presence if that's a serious concern moving forward.

I really enjoyed the show this year, even more than the previous editions!
About the whole QT is not a good host/comedian/presenter/showwoman thing: I disagree. I think your cadence and "bitchy" face played perfectly into the kind of humor you presented and you style of hosting.
It might be because I'm accustomed as a viwer, but I go into it expecting this acidity and apparent "hostile" demeanor, because I know it is actually just fun sarcasm. Sorry if this sounds parasocial.
What I mean to say is that you created the show and to present it in your way is good and I belive people will get accustomed to this style with time.
As always, it was a very good show and I'm eager to see how next year's version will be!
