The Oath of the Knights of the Old Code

A knight obeys values.
His heart knows only virtue,
His sword defends the helpless,
His arm protects the weak,
His mouth despises lies,
His anger thwarts the tricks of the evil one.
The knight's oath is an oath pronounced aloud by the knight during his dubbing:
You will believe all the teachings of the Church and you will observe its commandments.
You will protect the Church.
You will respect all the weak and will be their defender.
You will love the country where you were born.
You will never flee from the enemy.
You will fight the infidels fiercely.
You will fulfill your feudal duties, provided they are not contrary to divine law.
You will never lie and you will be true to your word.
You will be liberal and generous.
You will always be the champion of right and good against injustice and evil.
