    This was wonderful to watch. My mom played violin and viola. I did not know this existed. You have to know so many things to complete an instrument, let alone the amount of time, sped some with modern grinders, saws. Thank you. That has a nice sound.

    Fascinating to watch. A familiar, beautiful, haunting sound from middle-eastern music, but I never knew it was (or heard of) a ghaychak even though I play the violin.👍🇬🇧

    interesting!!! in these channel's 3 short videos, you can see 3 good candidates' ancestors to 3 modern western musical instruments which are still in use in Persian music, Tar-> GuiTar, Santoor -> Piano, and Ghaychak -> Violin.

    • @sheep1ewe
      @sheep1ewe ปีที่แล้ว

      For those who don't know allredy, the Piano had also an ancestor form called "Spinnet" which had soft strings played by small hooks controlled by the tangents. I think thay may be one of the missing lins here. The guitarr probably reaced Europe from Spain or Turkey i think since it did divide into two forms in Spain.

    • @sheep1ewe
      @sheep1ewe ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure since it has been around for so long that it's roots has been lost to history, but i think in the Nord the Violin probably arrived in it's early form from northwest of Caucasus since the very early forms here around the Baltic sea are different from the modern "Italian" mediterranian style, in south Europe it may had arrived from further south, like from the Osmans or via Spain i guess.

    Simply a lovely piece of work, and meticulously made...it is just a stunning instrument and piece of art! Thank you for sharing! Would you have dimensions to make this instrument? I would not copy the sound board etc, but would like the size of the circles and length of the fret board to get it correct:) Thank you! I would love to try this in wood found in Canada.
