    This is such a great video. Definitely got some good tips from this. Thank you. Could you guys possibly do a video on cruise travel insurance?

      Hi Stephanie. Would love to do a video on insurance but I (Rob) work in the insurance industry with particular interest in travel insurance. I work under a financial services licence that does not allow me to provide 'advice' which making a video could be construed as. Sorry.

    Drinks bought onboard Royal is in USD but the specials that you pre-buy from the cruise planner is in AUD.

    We always get the refreshments packages as we only have about 4 alcoholic drinks per day sometimes less We drink coffee and water and the occasional soft drink

    Hi Rob & Ali also the Prncess Plus & Premier package include the Gratuities as well as wifi. We went on Princess around Australia, drinks were reasonably priced, we could not find anything we wanted to drink over the allowed price in package including Black label Johnny Walker . Hope that helps

      Hi Lisa. Thanks for watching and apologies for the long delay in relying, we've been swamped with comments. For us, the Princess packages really do represent great value for what they include. Funny you should mention Johnny Black and I checked out the very same drink thinking that would be over the limit but it wasn't, as you say.

    I like the sound of the P&O package for the non alcoholic package and also the soft drink packages from Carnival and P&O too those would be more for me as a non alcohol drinker

    • @robandalicruisetravel
      @robandalicruisetravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The P&O refreshments package is great for a non alcohol drinker. It includes all the soft drinks, mocktails and teas and coffees. Ali always gets that one. Carnival doesn't include teas and coffees which is a big minus point for us.

    Hi Ali and Rob.
    I am not a drinking of alcohol but I hope I have seen on your vids that the soda machines an the coffee machine are free on all cruise ships.

    At home I'm not a huge drinker, but you have to remember every single event/activity on a cruise ship is close to a bar. AND there's drink waiters at your beck and call. Don't think about how many you plan to drink, look at the cost of the package and divide by the price of your preferred drink. You will be surprised how little you need to drink to cover the cost. They're a great insurance.

    • @robandalicruisetravel
      @robandalicruisetravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jodie. Thanks for watching. That's another good way to look at it especially as there can be a big difference between cocktails and a beer, for example. Ordinarily I (Rob) wouldn't be bothered with cocktails but if I have a drinks package then I'm a lot more inclined to give something a go. Also, the odd liqueur after dinner goes down quite nice when on a cruise.

    99 is a pretty decent price on royal caribbean - I know they push the price up for shorter cruises - On my upcoming 4 nighter, I havent been able to get it for under $110 a day

    Love your videos!!
    Could you please do one on travel insurance. We are going on a 3 day cruise from Brisbane in November and we’re advised to get insurance.
    Your input would be great!!

    • @robandalicruisetravel
      @robandalicruisetravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Victoria. Unfortunately we cannot do a video on travel insurance as Rob works in that industry and his license won't allow it. What we would say though is that Medicare does not cover any costs on board which can be very expensive. We always have insurance though for that very reason. What we generally do for a short cruise is look at whether our credit card (CBA) included travel insurance will cover what we need, mainly cancellation and medical. Make sure it is activated though to get the most cover.

    • @murraycharters6102
      @murraycharters6102 ปีที่แล้ว

      @victoriajones91. Most of the big banks provide complementary insurance for non domestic travel. The conditions are; you must purchase your trip on an approved bank credit card, minimum $1,000.00. You must apply for your travel insurance and they will give you a hard copy of the policy. Speak to your Bank to find out full details. I have read every line on the travel insurance policy provided by my bank and everything is covered.
      I have used the same method for at least 18 cruises and fortunately have never had to claim. The only downside is you can’t use it if you are only traveling in Australian waters for example Brisbane or Sydney to Cairns. Medivac and Covid complications also covered, however check with your bank and satisfy yourself.

    • @robandalicruisetravel
      @robandalicruisetravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@murraycharters6102 Thanks Murray. Not all bank credit card insurances have these requirements though and it depends on the actual card that you have with the bank. We are with CBA and no purchase is necessary with our particular card. Basic travel insurance is provided and we get extras by activating the policy for the trip at no additional cost. Australian waters also covered. Best advice for anyone is to check with their provider to see if it covers their needs and what the particular requirements are for their type of card.

    did u both share 1 package or did u buy for self? im going in a group of 8!! ill be drinking all 15 alcohol no problem 😅 BUT a friend doesn't have enough to get a package, my package includes other drinks like fizzzy, do u think ill be able to buy the drink for them?

    • @robandalicruisetravel
      @robandalicruisetravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi and thanks for the comment. Sorry for the delay in replying, we've had so many comments and we like to read and reply to them all. We don't share drinks packages for a couple of reasons. Firstly, you're not supposed to and we have heard of people having them stopped if they get caught. Secondly though, Ali doesn't drink alcohol so she just gets her own refreshments package so she can binge on coffee and mocktails.
      We've heard and spoken to people who have given the odd soft drink or two or coffee to a family member and haven't had a problem but we can't say that we would recommend it. As I said above, we have heard of people having their packages stopped.

    hi there, can you tell me if the soft drinks package includes water bottles

    • @robandalicruisetravel
      @robandalicruisetravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sharon. The 'soft drinks' packages which are the cheapest of the drinks packages generally do include bottled water and are usually just tap sodas. For bottled water to be included you usually have to go to at least the next level up. Hope this helps.

    Is this the new Princess plus package. We be cruising from 6th February and still on the old plus package how much per drink.

    • @robandalicruisetravel
      @robandalicruisetravel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Gail. Yes, this is the new package which I think comes in after you leave. You should still be on the old pricing I think which we had on our Princess cruise. Never had a problem with getting any of the drinks we wanted on it so, hopefully, you'll be the same. Have a fantastic cruise and let us know what you thought when you get back.

    Hello could you please tell me if you both drank alcoholic drinks off the one deluxe drinks package?

    • @robandalicruisetravel
      @robandalicruisetravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Karen. So sorry for the long delay in replying, we're being swamped with comments lately. Ali doesn't drink alcohol so the short answer to your question is no. A longer answer is that you could probably sneak a couple to a partner by doing a swap in a place where you are off camera, such as your cabin. The thing is though different cruise lines have different policies on buying them. On Carnival 1 person cannot buy the alcohol package without everyone else over 18 in the cabin buying one too. P&O and Royal will let just 1 person have the alcohol package but the other people must have a drinks package of some sort. Hope this helps.
