Bowesdorp - Northern Cape Province, South Africa

Here amongst the mountains on the way to Springbok a mission station was started during the 1800’s. My great grandfather and -nother got married here on 30 September 1872. The first two photos depict the area and the ruins of the church. The area couldn’t expand amongst the mountains. Bowesdorp was eventually abandoned and Kamieskroon was started a few kilometres to the south.
