i think you should go for ipad air 4th gen as it does supports apple pencil 2nd gen, but just keep one thing in mind that it is 3 years old and 10th gen is just about 8 months old. also, if you are not an artist and you are comfortable with the apple pencil alternatives which costs less than 30$, then you should go with 10th gen
