There is something very interesting about this. I've been following your channel for a long time, and when I first found your videos I didn't feel that they were bad or in any way dushy or cringey. But seeing this now, I agree with every criticism you make on the old video. Obviously, you grow and learn and seeing your earlier work you have this reaction. What's interesting is that I agree with you. This happened to me with other creators (like Shadiversity, who also has a similar reaction video) and evidences how the audience grows with the creator, but more than that, how we grow more or less in the same direction. I don't know how much the creator influences the direction in which we grow, but it's certainly interesting to think about. Hope you read this Daniel!

This is why it's ridiculous when people get canceled over decades old tweets and such. In the majority of cases the canceled person agrees the tweets were awful, and regrets having ever said anything like them, but we canceled them anyway, ignoring their growth as individuals. As a culture, we should check the level of growth before we condemn people for having been immature in the past.

But I was never interested in the series anyways, so I don't think it really influenced my behaviour in any meaningful ways. Still, it's kinda scary to think about how quickly I formed that judgment. I'm blaming myself for that and wouldn't put that responsibility on you or your younger self.

ngl the old unhinged daniel is fun to watch. that's one of the reasons I began watching your channel tbh. You might've been rude and condescending but you were genuine.

Good morning, Daniel. :D Hey, it's a learning experience! You've grown and that's cool! Love your whole face.
Update: I kinda want to comfort you during this obviously painful experience. We love you anyway. Mistakes were made, ensued and were overcome.

My jaw fuckin dropped when old you said "I'm going to make money off of you" 💀💀💀I'm not gonna be surprised if Daniel rewatches a lot of the old FN videos and burns them all lol.

This gave me a good laugh. Your reaction to yourself is priceless.
You have obviously matured since that video and you put out consistently good content. I enjoy the current version of your work.

So much respect for this, one of the reasons it's so easy to keep coming back, you grow and let yourself grow.

It's inspiring and courageous of you to watch and critique your early work in public.
That it also results in one of the funniest videos ever posted youtube is a wonderful side effect!
(seriously, you should feel proud that you can see how much you've learned and grown both as a creator and as a person. SO many people go through life getting consistently worse, more bitter and angry.)

Most(?) people who gain popularity: **Ego intensifies**
Daniel Greene gains popularity: **Humility intensifies**
(He grew and changed as a person, gaining much self-awareness, empathy, and respect for others - we love to see it 🥺)

Older Daniel reacting to Younger Daniel is that Spongebob soundbite that goes like "Oh brother, this guy stinks!"

Be kind to your younger self. You did the best you could. And, as embarrassing as it may have been to watch, this reaction was absolutely hysterical! ❤

this is very nice to see!
i remember checking out your content once and giving up on it for years bc i genuinely thought you were a jerk, but when i found your channel again you were doing great, and now you're my go-to channel for fantasy news!
so it's nice to see a neat and tidy resolution to this weird dissonance.
    growth...
