If the company cannot afford soft-water treatment, then using Rydlyme is ideal, usually takes 6 hours diluted w/ water for complete calcium break down in a cooling tower or until PH reaches 7.0 again. Acid starts at 4.0 PH. Also, the maintenance department needs to hire some real man power to maintain the cooling towers, it requires semi / annual deep cleaning to prevent calcifying again and monthly light pressure washing. It's hard work.

I have used this descaler before, its not odorless, but it doesn't have a strong/bad odor. Their spec sheet states it smells like "roasted almonds". It actually says that, I'm not being sarcastic.
