Yes, they are real people. These images are taken using a technique called "tilt-shift" that make it look like it's all miniaturized. Look up tilt-shift on TH-cam to see more examples.
you could do it in editing after.....or maybe some cams might have a function to do it 'in camera'.....yes i also heard about it on Adam and Joe.....nice to see a simple but new filming 'trick'
