@@patrickbuzzo1970 My pleasure. This particular era of their history can be a bit confusing. Very transitional and not very well documented. This lineup existed from the spring of ‘83 until (I believe) either late ‘84 or early ‘85, and the only official release they had was the “Thanks For The Night” single. A big part of why it’s so confusing is because Captain never really out and out quit. He just kind of drifted off into his solo career and so the rest of the band moved on. You may already know this, but also during this same period was when they started playing a lot of ‘alias’ gigs as Naz Nomad & The Nightmares (without Captain), and also recorded and released the “Give Daddy The Knife, Cindy” album (which I love). Strange little period for them.
Another little detail I probably should have mentioned is that during this period Roman Jugg kind of shifted his duties from keyboardist to second guitarist. He had been their full time keyboardist since the “Friday The 13th” EP (1981), but some time in ‘83 they started going for a more double guitar sound, which is evident on the “Thanks For The Night” single, as well as on this Peel session. That little detail often gets overlooked.
@@Shikta-poobah67 thanx again Shikta, you have been very kind to me . I've seen the Damned in April 1980 with Paul Gray, and the second time during the 90's with Patricia Morrison, but Rat was not on drums . The show in 1980 was great ,and at the end of the concert, Captain went on drums, and Rat with a Gibson les Paul ( of course with the other 2 members) played some songs of the Sex Pistols. I've watched on you tube the recent reunion with Brian James, i have the impression that he's not in a good health .sorry for him .My best regards, i wish you a happy new year! Patrick from Italy
All of the Damned's Peel Sessions are the best things the Damned have ever recorded.
Hands down, THEE best version of “Is it a Dream”.
Thank you for uploading.
Class
Great Nasty , version Killer!!
The 60's covers continue with We Love You. Incredible song.
Few bands did covers more tastefully than the Damned did.

They sound like Moody Blues on Thanks for the Night, Bloody Nora
Bullwank

Vanian, Sensible, Scabies, Merrick, Jugg
This was just before Captain stepped out and Roman switched to lead guitar (aka the MCA era).
