France joined the USA all right but what about the Spanish and the Dutch too, they joined on the side of the USA too. Britain gave Florida back to the Spanish in the treaty of Paris.
Thankfully for us Brits, we keep Canada and Breumada so it was not all lost for us in America. Both eventfully became independents but keep our Queen as their head of state.

Except tea was actually made cheaper. There was a tax yes, but that was offset by the tea being imported directly to the colonies rather than going to Britain and then to the colonies. The colonies feared that it was the first step to creating a tyranny.
