I think a part of it is because his songs are not too simple for non-musicians and the other musicians can listen to interesting elements of his playing which only they might recognize
FACT - being able to see him was a treat 2 years ago. Got to tap that cut off switch when he leaned into the crowd. So awesome even the toy throwing gifts haha great guy.
psamsundar Learn how to play some of his songs and I promise you'll get it. Try his simpler acoustic ones..like "Little Gracie". Then feast on the fingerstyle beauty of "Yokohama"..try "Wondering' which is much more than meets the ear
@@wordlife9257 you have incredible taste my friend. little gracie and wondering were some of the first songs that I fell in love with playing the guitar with... learning those songs changed my life and I play them almost every day for 10 years...
So there I am bottom right I tried to steal his pick right after this song. He kneeled down and shook my hand. With some magic his pick disappeared. My Hero!
tell folks to listen to albums like Colma and Electric Tears if they typecast him as the brutal flurry shreddy Jason Becker type. nothing bad against J there at all. he was like Bucky's predecessor
I can't believe it took me so long to even hear about Buckethead. I only found out about this amazing musician about a year ago, and I can not get enough of him. And THIS song, in this video, well this is really extra special. I watch all of the videos I can find of him on TH-cam, and I never saw him get into the music like he does in this one. The raw emotion... and come on, this song is amazing! You'd have to be made out of granite to NOT rock out to this. I love this video. Buckethead, you make this old rock fan smile every time I hear you play.
I've only been in Bucketheadland for a couple more months that you but I am a convert. What did I do before Buckethead entered my world and flipped it upside-down? I just keep listening to his endless catalogue of songs and when I think I've reached the apex of guitar playing I stumble across another of his masterpieces. I am truly amazed by this guitar god.
Martin Hepler. Dude has helped me through tough times. Still is. Has been for about 8 months straight now. Haven't really listened to any music but his
0:59 that is such a COMMANDING lick, I love it so much. I only heard the live version of this song as the last bit of a Pike I can't remember off the top of my head, but I find myself humming it throughout the day. It's so motivating, makes the hair on my neck stand up.
Brian's playing is cathartic for him and also his way of saying thank you to everyone that loves his music. He is thankful to everyone that loves him for sharing himself in his music.
People don't accept he's the best because he's so prolific. Ignoring the fact that Mozart and other great composers were also incredibly prolific and produced many works.
That's just another reason why he's the goat. Even if half of his music was considered unreleasable he's still got 10-20 times the amount than other greats.
This is a metal heart machine ! You make me brave when your pushing notes arrive my ears ! It doesn't matter who is the best guitarist. You convey the emotions really amazingly.
I really can't understand all of these naysayers out there that play off like he's nothing special at all. Honestly I've never heard any guitar player out there that sounds like him...I was connected instantly....I've head a shitload of guitar players over the last 45+ years Satiani, Vai, Yngwie, Zakk Wylde, Vivian Campell, Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman...on and on and nobody and I mean nobody has tapped into my soul like BH and they're all great in their own respect...but BH is exceptional.....
life Some say that AI could never learn art like a human, others say Buckethead is proof that a robot AI can master art. The truth however is that Buckethead is actually just evidence of advanced alien life on earth.
BH knows he's the GOAT. He doesn't want to go on a debate with others that's why his on stage persona is a fn badass thing to answer haters. I know he's not like this when he's home being Brian. God bless you man! I understand why you're different and I get it you never need to talk if you feel it's unnecessary. This is why it's every BH fans dream to hear him speak. I heard his podcast that was released when he got heart attacks and felt he could die. This man has the most beautiful soul living today. I'm grateful to see his era and I pray to God to grant him heaven when he leaves us. He seems like a broken person I feel for his loss of parents and other loved ones. I love you BH I know you watch TH-cam that's why you recognised fans who cover your songs at your show! You're the most complete musician. Your music has changed me, no need of any lyrics anymore. Thank you BH for everything.
A good guitar player, A real professional and he is playing a guitar without any SHARK or DOT inlays. And he also knows which note to play on which string to make it soothing to ears. Now this is f**k** cool
For the millionth time: Who IS this guy? Yeah, I know he's got a name, and I also know that no human can do anything like that. Maybe he did come from outer space; that would explain it.
He was born in a chicken coop, that's all I can remember:). I truly feel sorry for his guitars as he puts them to the test for sure! Peace and do Rock on.
Wikipedia under break for illness. This is why he didn't release an album for so long and then came out with Spinal Clock upon his return.Since then he has been unstoppable.
He's the level of musician where you go to his concert and expect to see other musicians in the audience.

as an australian i am so incredibly jealous, hope it was good!
The feels. I love aussieland, from vic. but shit man, we miss out on this big time.
I’ve seen him 4 times since I made this comment. 3 autographs, a guitar pick, a bucket he wore, and 4 toys later.
4 years later and I still absolutely cherish this man.

Thanks to you I now know the word to describe how I feel whenever I listen to Buckethead's music.
I feel so blessed to have listened to such music and sorry for those who are ignorant of this world.
Buckethead's the only fact that inspired me to start over playing guitar 6 years later. You are a fucking god of guitar mann.

finally someone can tune his guitar while playing a song and doesn't play the whole song out of tune

I've never seen him get so into his own playing like at 1:00 , granted that riff is one of my all time favorites. awesome
And at 3:28. 😀
+dedik8SKB Look at other videos from this same show, it looks like he was into his own playing with many other songs as well.
+dedik8SKB Right lol he was fucking jamming out
What song is that??? I heard it once a long time ago and can't seem to find it
You can guarantee there'll be multitudes of expressions going on under that mask!
3:37 the most epic blend of metal vs classical

SO GOOD. I can't stop watching
Don't know if anyone else noticed, but @ 04:43 he hits the A on the 5th instead of 7th, and it still sounded sweet.

If Beethoven had a guitar and electricity, he would have been Buckethead.
Mozart
Electricity
Beethoven still wouldn't be as good as Buckethead!
He's more like Paganini.
Mozart, there's a autistic "feeling" to everything he does, hard to explain
He's so active in this performance, nice footage.
To me, music is a sphere filled with sounds which have their own kaleidoscopic structure....& he is making quite tge show
increible jaja tocando y afinado en el momento buckethead
