Thanks Paul. I do recall seeing Roger B's galley box video yonks ago. I also saw one from the Welsh chap on his boat Arwen. But it's pretty neat to know that I could just whip down to Bunnings in Coffs and pick up some of that aluminium foil to cover the internals of the box. So many videos have OS examples. God knows what you can get in those stores in the US, but most of the gear is not avaialble here.
Hi Col, yep the aluminium sheet does come from Bunnings but measure carefully and I think from memory you only need 1/4 of a sheet....I'm thinking of a little improvement, thanks for watching again, cheers Paul
@@SailingKateLouise I went straight to the Bunnings site and found this stuff - I think was about $30 for probably far more than I could ever use on a galley box. Still if that's the stuff I can always find a use for more gear from Bunnings. Just so you know, I've been in awe of Mik Storer's designs for ages. Attracted to the GIS for its sleek lines and the videos of Enrico Franco's Mira in Italy and thereabouts. But for cheapness and simplicity I am drawn to, don't laugh, the Oz Goose. I bought the plans for both the Ooze Goose Ketch and the single main Goose Explorer, as well as the plain old Oz Goose. Based on the exploits of Painen Dias over in the States, I reckon that it (any verson thereof) would be capable of a bit of dinghy cruising love. Perhaps not as adventurous as the Lady Musgrave 30nm voyage, but still capable, I reckon. Certainly inshore. Anyway, thinking of dumbing it down to a basic OG with an ad hoc as required dodger cum cabin sorta. But I'm still attracted to the ketch. The galley box would sit in that hull. If I am ever in one place long enough to build....

Just came across your channel - lovely boat. I had no idea that dehydrated meals lasted that long- do you think you could possibly consider that as a topic for a future video? I'm off to do some more research, but I'd love to hear more about your experience with dehydrated rations and what you e found works and doesn't.
Thanks for watching, a dehydrator costs about $40 us $65 Aus , it takes about 6hrs to dehydrate but uses little power and you can dehydrate about 4 to 6 meals in 1 go (7 trays option). Make meals with low liquid content and very little oil, it's the oil that can make the meals go off. Sterilise well and use double clip lock bags, squeeze out as much air as possible and store in fridge. Will last 2 years or more. As store bought dehydrated meals cost $7 -12 each this is a better option and home cooked always tastes better.....enjoy
Hi the dehydrator is called '5 Star Chef' from ebay about $65 Aus 4 years ago. It's a round 7 tray version which makes it more cost effective, can make about 4 or 5 meals in one go.
You mentioned that you modified your cooker from someone else who provided detailed plan, but I couldn't catch the name you mentioned. Could you repeat the name and provide a source for those plans (e.g. website, TH-cam channel). Thanks.

45 cms, so I can't pull the Stornaway up on the beach but I can get to within a metre or so depending on the drop off. That's why my anchor buddy is so useful getting on and off. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
