he's an INTJ. Look at the way he focuses on the data and the evidence. ENTP's love him because he's so compatible with us and our ISFJ subconscious loves his aspiring ESFP entertainer. Why do you think he was the great explainer?
@@dumbledalfthewizard9486 he is ENTP because he is an accomplished physicist. Einstein on the other hand was an INTP because he wasn't a big fan of people
I read Richard Feynman's book "Surely You Are Joking, Mr. Feynman" before i took the MBTI test and i was like "whoa we have many things in common" so it's nice to figure out that he is ENTP too!
I feel as though Entp is the type of villain who doesnt really have any ambition but just wants to create chaos and become a master at things just to create more chaos.
@@lovewho Exclusive love for ENTPs. Gotta learn to love the unconscious to be an integrated person. Plus they're our ideal partner, cognitive functions wise.
"everything connects to everything else" The biggest high I get as an ENTP is when I realise a new "rule" that applies to multiple phenomena and observations. I do a bit of teaching and sometimes when I'm halfway through explaining a concept I would realise it follows the same pattern/logic as a completely seemingly unrelated thing. Sometimes I get so excited in the middle of a class about a new pattern I see that my students are convinced I've lost my mind hahaha
we're charming because we literally have no option but to be. ever sit in a room with an ENTP that feels comfortable with you? you'll HATE us after a while. we enjoy confrontation, debate, talking fast, and it takes us decades to develop sympathy (not empathy. we have tons of that). suffice it to say, we're not exactly likable. so we learn to be charming. it's not our damned fault everything we enjoy or default to pisses off literally every other type.
ugh this is so true, i can map in my memories the way i developed charm over the years in reaction to being overbearing, people will only listen to a big talker if you can make them feel good/important while you’re doing it
@Chen Nan Agree. Not many types naturally get along with ENTP, but I should make a few exceptions. And INTP is one of those. I think we value you tremendously for your intellect, and 'fuck off' attitude to people that aren't on broad with who you are. I'd LIKE to think we respect your need for space, but I mean....it's us. We have a hard time doing that with ourselves.
ENTP is the type that amazes me the most. Their thinking is quite special and different than anyone else. I can easily recognise them if they're talking about ideas and show using their logic or how they point the illogical things. If you come to an ENTP with a problem they got you the solution and at least one future plan for another few years ahead when you cannot think of specific path for the nearest future. ENTPs are seen as lazy but also they can really work hard if they want to. From all of the types I've seen them being the most honest to themselves. And if they want something they get it. If they want to have an easy life, being lazy and spending time with others that way - they do what it takes to have that life. But trust me.. if they want to step out and get their ambitions to be met they would hard work and get through mistakes through the paths that no one has seen before in order to achieve what they want. They do that it the most creatives, unconventional ways sometimes. ~ENFP
ENFP here, came here because of my intense appreciation for ENTPs. My protagonist of a story I’m working on is one of them, and I’m absolutely ecstatic at the prospect of writing with her. 🤩👏
I tend to think that the genius of ENTPs is underestimated. INTPs and INTJs are mentioned most regarding being highly intelligent, but I am sure ENTPs are very much on par with them.
I absolutely love ENTPs, because as an INTJ myself, I think they are the most compatible with us. What I like about them is the fact that they always have a new view of something that has already been done; they can play with the same rubik's cube and view it with millions of different views that you could never think of. But the worst problem with them, is that they get bored very quickly and they have the attention span of a butterfly. It is very hard for them to commit themselves to a long term project, which always prohibits them from achieving their goals. Love you ENTPs. You make the world interesting for us 👌
Rubic's cube actually aren't as complicated as they appear. You just arrange them piece by piece, layer by layer. Using muscle memory, like riding a bike, you memorize algorithms that place pieces where they belong. Once you have a lot of practice, it seems like the cubes solve themselves, you just guide them.
The biggest misconception about ENTPs is that they hide or don't know how to express emotions. In fact, ENTPs have a huge amount of emotions and perfectly understand the emotional state of the interlocutor and their own perfectly. The important thing is that ENTPs are guided by logic and not emotions in making decisions. Given a choice between an "emotionally kind" or "cruel but logical" solution to a problem, the ENTP will no doubt choose the latter option.
Thank you for this comment, I agree. However as we get older, entp is in an excellent position to not make a choice but in fact be able to UNIFY kind and logical if they want to grow and work on it!! Kind AND logical. Imagine that! And how much good we could do with that whilst still being true to ourselves. Thanks !
I don't necessarily agree. With tertiary Fe, social harmony is a pretty important thing for ENTP. However unlike INTP's with their inferior Fe for example, ENTP's are not afraid to break social harmony but they can do so in a calm and diplomatic way unlike INTP's.
this "wanting to figure out by myself" thing is so true :). I used to take exams/papers in high school by not learning the maths formulas, because it was more fun (and enough time) to figure out during the exam time :D. This is actually laziness, too
Lol yes it's a weird kind of laziness that comes with circumventing the conventional approaches, trying to find a quicker/cleverer way and ending up getting immersed in some new insight as a result ~ Nathan
@@lovewho exactly 😊 one time I came up with different formulas, and my teacher was really awesome, giving the best grade, but told me to look up the ones we were actually supposed to learn. Some supercool teacher really exist
Same...intp I would wait til 30 mins before class to write 7 to 9 page papers. Or just walk into my speech performance with nothing written. I always got A's
I as ENTP enjoy myself learning new skills. Actually I think all skills can be learned quickly if you make it simple and smart. Most of my friends consider me a polymath
ENTP here with degrees in Psychology and Law (JD), 3 patents in computer science, and I've worked in everything from voice acting for FOX to escorting my way through college to accounting, fashion law, and of course software engineering. Oh and I managed an IT department once. Right now for my work for a wall street firm I'm deploying my latest invention which in all tests has shown to be the fastest interprocess communication system on earth. Yeah we can do literally anything.
@@hoodaticus i admire people flexing on their skills and that may be just because i am an ENTP hahah. Good job dude, i try to look up on people like you. People who are flexible, genius and wide open for every idea that crosses their mind. 💪💪💪
everyone can learn some things from every type. the way someone can be ruled by impulsive feelings like ESFj's and the planning skills of an INTJ or ISTJ. Although I may be getting the stereotypes a bit wrong here.
As an ENTP I can relate to everything you said. I have a university degree in computer science, but I got bored fast after I finished the school, after I was a electronic design engineer, and now I'm mechanical design engineer (self taught). The reactions when I go to job interviews are kinda funny, but after they listen and give me tests, they get convinced. I enjoy creating clothes, I'm an artist, I paint and draw, I study violin and piano on my own, I study psychology, astrology, philosophy, spirituality and many others but on my own. I'm ambidextrous 😅 people get confused by that all the time. I feel like I live to learn and descover, I'm always fascinated how everything is conected at one point. I'm really bad at history and making money. Having so many hobbies, makes me spend a lot on new tools, materials, books, etc. I'm ok with my money but I always ask myself why I don't have a business. I have tones of ideas but I feel descouraged because I'm not an expert in anything.
Is it just genuine interest in that area, or appreciation of each subject and understanding the underlying relevancy to everything else and wanting to challenge the idea of becoming as “ultimate” as possible
you basically just wrote my entire life. i suck at making money but i have tons of idea. i like and could do a lot of thing and want to open a business but i cant commit cus i always want to try a new thing. that's way they often call entp is "a master of none" because we couldn't focus on one thing and became an expert
I am an ENTP pianist and went absolutely nuts when you explained the piano scale thing. There’s really no other way to put it. You described my sensation perfectly. Play around. Make it sound good. Then substantiate it with theoretical knowledge. Give value to the knowledge instead of just learning things pointlessly.
Indeed. Learning by tinkering first and reading later is incredibly satisfying. Like the saying about reinventing the wheel. Also you missed the opportunity to call yourself ENTPianist.
This can be described as a pallet of a new artist. The pallet contains only pure colours, but every decision needs to take into account at least 3 basic ideas.
there's a video here called the 4 subtypes of ENTP/ The Empath ENTP.. the empath ENTP video got the most comments of all. apparently, the empath entp subtypes are tired of everything thinking they are sociopaths
Thanks Nathan you are brilliant. ENTP is always in the verge of am i crazy or am i genius. We dont have the patience to execute. We are insecure of being so much of a sore thumb in society but our brains always know that we’re so so very highly accurate in our intuitions, because everything is indeed connected if people are willing to invent them in real life. Our faith in our NeTi will overcome this Fe insecurities, eventually.
In a “humorless age” like we live in, our comedic genius is not only unappreciated, but downright hated. That’s too bad as that particular tendency has much to offer this current age of crisis. Despite everything, at least I’m still laughing.
As ENTP I take things with a lot of humor and I relly don't understand why people are taking some things so seriously, I mean if you have a problem than laugh about how stupid you were and solve it
i would disagree that we live a "humorless age" since there are many funny things, maybe you are referring to humor not attacking black people as it did before or whatever but you just have to know where to look
By means of craft and innate social skills, ENTP's genius manifests itself in their ability to infuriate authorities as well as friends to the level one considers murder as a viable solution... but even in those moments, one can't stop loving those 'charming bastards'! 😉 So yea, just relax and enjoy the trip to outer space whenever you talk to them :)
@@lovewho you know anyone who managed to escape their chaos? Suppose Richard Feynman was indeed an ENTP as you guess. This dude was systematically tampering with safe combination locks containing TOP SECRECY INFO ON NUCLEAR BOMB TESTING JUST TO TROLL HIS COLLEAGUES!!!
Ok.... I’m definitely an ENTP. Hahahaha! I was told in grade 2 I’d never be a musician. Not only did I teach myself to be a musician, I am now a professional music teacher, certified audio engineer, and credentialed professional luthier. I’m certainly not the best example of any of those, but I am quite good at all of them. I’m also a decent archer, carpenter, and I have invented some small pieces of equipment I use in my work. Never invented a world changing technology, though. I modify most pieces of equipment to suit my needs and tastes. I don’t like giving or taking orders. I have zero respect for credentials if the bearer is an obvious idiot. That all said... I often frustratedly look around for things I didn’t notice holding in my hand, or glasses hanging from my shirt collar. Every mistake I make is one of oversight. My nursery school teacher called me, “the absent minded professor”. I “didn’t apply myself to the level of my intelligence” in school. The online tests still give me INTP... but like I said, I’d guess it’s because a written test puts me in a mode that simulates INTP, simply because of the written format. I’d bet money a verbal test would result in ENTP.
I think you write like an ENTP, with all your ellipses. I use them religiously... to me, they usually represent the endless possible thought trails I could've taken, but would never have the time to write down... sigh.
I took the Meyers brigg test twice and I got INTP both times but by I was only introverted by 3-5% but I can definitely relate to both personalities, I don’t think I’m solely introverted or extroverted since I can be both and have mood swings so ig I’m an ambivert🙂
3 years (or was 2? It doesn't matter) ago I took the MBTI and only knew that is a personality test that classify you in one of 16 personalities, and that was all, didn't know anything else. Result: ENTP. I was like: "ok... I guess?" I read the description of ENTP and also make my family read it. They died of laugh and reply: What? Are people spying on you since you were child or what? The freaking test nailed it in like 80-85% with no problems: I'm a textbook ENTP since child, and became more prominent during my teenage. -When I was a kid, spend a lot of time in public library reading a lot of whatever book I found: loved learning anything, loved the excitement of the new, and loved to create connections and patterns between books, topics, authors and infos. -I was the curious trouble maker who enjoys to watch grown ups talk and do things, and then try to convince them to explain to me how things work and why they think and speak in the way they did. -I committed some crimes or misbehaviors. When I was like 12 for example, stole a book from a shop, just to know why everybody say it's bad (I didn't get it until I did it mself and only then I understood it was bad). -During my childhood (and even today) I loved every game focused on: crafting, exploring and strategy. Board games, video games, etc: any activity that put me in an "againt others in strategy", "with others to create" or "alone to exploring" are my cup of tea. -Love debate, and philosophy, economy and politics teachers loved me in highschool because in every topic, I took the opposite side that the vast majority of my classmates took, just for fun and because I love mental sparring. -I was the "A student" and directives from my school saw me as an applied person (respectful, serious, etc.) but it was the image I wanted to project: behind the scenes I behaved quite badly hahaha. Even my friends told my teachers: "you don't know how he really is" and they answer: "no, he is a good boy, you are envious". -I chose the career I'm studying right now (industrial engineering) because it gives me a lot of opportunities to work in a lot of differents environments, gives me a lot of freedom and is focussed on solving problems. -Distracted, messy, imaginative, forgetful, random, little focused, chaotic, manipulative, analyst, over-thinker, etc. are adjectives that people often use to call me. "Charming bastard" are the way my friends, parents and brother usually use to describe me. My girlfriend (INTP) joke and say that I'm a "stereotypical know it all random douchebag with no morals". I call her a "shy nerdy robot"... what a beautiful relationship. Good video by the way. Like!!
The “A student” Part- Mannn- Hell yes- I’m seen by my teachers as a role model student. Truth is, I can barely focus on my school work, I still manage some how and if you ask my friends, They’ll tell you I’m hella loud and crazy yet smart, So, I relate to this quite well :)
As an ENTP I can say, we are all the same, holly shit the only two things we differ is that, first of all, I would never steal something, I'm too freaked out about ruining the image I put up as mine. And that I'm going to pursue an area that get me to debate about politics, philosophy and economy. Arguing for money seems like a dream.
Bro you're literally fucking me! We explore all kinds of random shit I am probably a bigger trouble maker than you I love the exact same kinds of games you do; chess, battle royales, exploration games (like zelda), terraria, etc. I loved debate when it was a good topic to debate about, not some generic debate topic. Where we part ways is that both students and teachers knew I was very mischievious. I am taking a physics major and hoping to get into a space related field. Same adjectives are used to describe me.
As an ENTP I find myself in the constant pursuit of frameworks as well as the constant bending and mending of the those frameworks to achieve my goals. Which honestly my goals are beyond your understanding
There is a quote by Miyamoto Musashi that really rings with me "There is more than one way up the mountain" In my Entp way added a line to it because it felt incomplete 😎 "There is more than one way up the mountain but depending on the conditions certain ways are more favourable than the others"
Good luck going up a mountain. As an entp myself, It'll probably take me a lifetime, because I will constantly get distracted and forget what I'm doing, until I remember and feel lazy about it and start to think of ways to discard it, and then get distracted by something again, and I forgot the punchline that I wanted to finish my statement with so sorry...
@@we_heart_ice_land8354 I recently discovered this emoji , and I can't stop using it . It's just means we already know it . And Entps know a lot of things 🥴. ENTP, I took the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator within the U.S. Military. The exam was a 3 day testing exam, Exam to indicate if individual mentally and emotionally capable of performing under extreme stress, isolation and duress environments. The testing/exam was within the Special Operations/Military Intelligence Community, for a slot in a 6 man deep penetration Ranger/Airborne LRRP/LRSD Team. The 3 day exam was interesting to say the least and yes, I made the Teams.
I'm extroverted but extremely lonely and don't go out of my way to make plans with anyone and I deny plans to stay home alone. I didn't leave my house for over a month, besides to go to work and errands. But when I'm talking with a friend, over text, I am energetic and full of emotion. I am very emotional, I can be impulsive to a fault but my first instinct is to think about my decision first. When I'm at work, I'm happy talking to my co workers, but sometimes it can be a little awkward and luckily I'm at work so I can just walk away. I don't leave my house to associate with people at all really. I think I am both introverted and extroverted. I like to be alone and not depend on anyone but I do feel happy talking about things that I'm doing/learning. I relate a lot to ISTP but I am expressive with around people. I relate a lot to ENTP and ESTP since I can be bold, sociable, direct, but I do care about people's feelings so I choose my words carefully. I am energetic and enthusiastic, good at communicating but since I'm so introverted and lonely I know how to relax since I am very comfortable in my own solitude. Some help here? :(
The only way is to learn in your own. There are a lot of informations online but they may contradict each other, so you need to take your time. If you're a Ne & Ti user (in no specific stack), you will always doubt your type unless your everything fits in your Ti. Ne will always look for other possibilities.
I was reading a NASA report about the characteristics of managers they have, one section was about MBTI and here are the types that become project managers in order of frequency: ENTP, ENTJ, ISTJ, INTJ, ENFP ENTPs are by far the most successful.
My ENTP friend was actually struggling to manager the people under him and when the people above him started to say he was a bad manager he literally developed a new approach overnight which ended up working brilliantly. Challenging an ENTP usually doesn't go too well ~ Nathan
My high school paper was about stars and planets. Being a part of Nasa as the project managers will feel like a playground, making us feel alive everyday
As ENTP, I would consider myself the worst possible Project Manager. I’m just not made for proper time management, budgeting & routine meetings. For the many projects that I initiate at work, I typically create the strategy & then engage an ISTJ, INTJ or ESTJ as Project Manager. I stay involved in the project in an advising role, yet I often derail my own projects, as I see new solutions to the problem as the project is advancing through its stages. This is driving the project team nuts. ENTP’s can get stuck in the Idea Generation phase, as it gets kind of boring once people have embraced our ideas. Design Freeze is what really spooks out ENTP’s, as it kills flexibility. That is likely why Steve Jobs was ENTJ. I would be curious how NASA defines the role of Project Manager and the associated success criteria. If they put the outcome of the project over adherence to timelines, budget & employee engagement, then maybe the ENTP has a chance to be the most successful Project Manager :-)
It also makes sense that when you are a cross contextual thinker, you need to take in A LOT of information in order for you to assess the overall trends. And when you do that it would absolutely exhaust you to look into details of all the info.
You have no idea how validating this video is. I've struggled for years with my lack of desire to spend four+ years at a time in university focusing on the same topic the entire time. My true hankering is to hop from subject to subject, bringing them all together periodically. When I am free to do this (which includes enrolling in any short course that catches my eye if I have the time and finances to do so), I learn so much. If I were interested in a formal career such as in law or medicine, then of course I'd go to university, but there are plenty of fields where it's just not necessary, and shouldn't be used to measure someone's intelligence or dedication to the job. Thanks so much for adding a new word to my vocabulary too. Having a neutral word for what I am refutes the "social obligation" to follow someone else's life path and see my own as less valid. 🙏
ENTP here. Learn the fundamentals of programming. The details suck, but once you learn them the world is your oyster. And you'll be a better person for developing your Si.
As an INTP (Ne sub-type) have a sweet spot and admiration for ENTPs... my favorite actors, movie directors, and scientists are all ENTP... Richard Feynman and Sean Carroll (pretty sure he's an ENTP) are amazingly gifted in their respective fields and terrific communicators. Also believe it's the combination/ dichotomy of intuitive logic and tertiary Fe, the need for them to be liked and and wanting harmony whilst also willing to push boundaries, seek truth, and re-imagine, that annoys others, which results in the 'charming bastard' moniker.
idk if this is weird but as a kid I remember being a lot above my reading level and reading the Hunger Games in elementary school. I LOVED IT. Not sure what it was that got me hooked. I just remember my friends at school talking about stuff like boys and who they liked the most and meanwhile I had a full list who in my class would survive based on physical capabilities and IQ. I feel like I just liked the idea of being in that kind of power and having the upper hand in such a bizarre situation. I swear I'm not a serial killer😂 but I remember wanting to be in that dystopia so badly. when the movies came out I was in love with them and I even practiced the execution walk Katniss does before shooting Coin. Now I think it's weird I was fantasizing about this as a kid and stuff but seeing these comments it's pretty normal among us :)
Loved this one❤ We need people, who aren't afraid of breaking down the authorities when their theories don't make sense. So many of us are scared of admitting, that the ones on the top can be wrong as well. ENTPs, I love you❤
About the „thinking in parallels“- i am a translator and interpreter for english and spanish. I went to school for it and I already knew english for it was my second language. When learning spanish from scratch, i used my knowledge from english, to make connections in vocabulary, grammar, phrase structure etc. Whenever I talked to my classmates about different learning methods, everyone was very confused about my way of automatically connecting the two languages. Maybe it really is an ENTP thing :)
I am an ENTP - and I find it most interesting & intriguing to listen to these. Its like you have taken the thoughts in my head of who I am into words, I kind of knew who I was- but I never could really put it into words, Its like finding out who you are.
Ahh. The heuristic method of learning. Thomas Edison, US inventor. ENTP. I visited his home laboratory (and beautiful estate) in Fort Myers, FL. I saw his sleeping cot (in his lab!) where he would put in 4 hours of sleep each night, and then back to work. Inspiring.
Wow! Thats so cool. I agree he's inspiring, people put Telsa ahead of him as a genius but I completely disagree with that. Edison embodies the intangible traits of determination and relentlessness that are the foundations of all great achievements and people ~ Nathan
Man that's such a great point that I never noticed about myself - I love hearing people's business plans/pitches/etc & I can instantly see some of the most likely problems they'll run up against & offer solutions on the spot
aha, As a TH-camr myself, I do notice the views of ENTP video kinda fluctuating. Loved this video, was a huge ego boost. However, there is always a catch. Due to the constant channel changing nature of our brain, it is very hard to stay focused. So if I wanted to structure into my life for getting more done, I can't. Also, trans parallel thinking sounds good and it is, however, it is useless since most ENTP don't have a focused field to apply these insights too. Imagine have the key to change the world but you didn't because you couldn't stick to the problem long enough. Furthermore, as one gets more specialized and trying to solve one particular problem for a long long time, it is a very very lonely road. Nice video, looking forward to more!
I agree that focus is indeed an issue. As you already know, one solution to this is to be involved in the ideation phase and not the implementation phase of a process. Find 'operators and executers" who like to actually carry out the plans rather than come up with them, then team up with them ~ Nathan
@@lovewho Whoa! I love this tip! this is something I have realized in my own life too. My major breakthrough was that the operator and executor both need to be me. If I cannot execute myself, I can't lead others. So in a sense, everyone has to do everything and that kinda has been my hero's journey! Thank for taking the time and sharing your insights!

I absolutely love your videos on ENTPs. While I also find your insight on other personality types interesting and inspiring, I can say that you capture this type more accurately than any other source or site I've looked at. Incredible!
Do we want to BE them or to be WITH them ? That is the question. I truely appreciate and value the insight you give on the types you analyse ! Lots of love to every ENTPs, I can't help but feeling myself drawn to people with this type (don't be an ass tho, jk)🌟🦋🌟
I find it cool how we love to talk and analyze like every aspect of ourselves, we love learning and finding others who are the same way, we are so selfishly focused on us that anything that might even just add a pixel to the image we have of ourselves or something that explains or validates how we think we are interested in Like, as long as it isn't too long or boring, I could sit here and talk about myself and how much I love the way my brain works and 90% of the people who reads this, guaranteed probably ENTP, of course you have no realistic way to disprove me (unless you do, if so thatd be awesome), ima just stick with that number and so that 90% of entps would be so interested in another entp who is also loving that he gets to just talk about himself and have people actively listen, so I guess the main point i was getting to was we ENTPs can like feed off each other because we love learning about others experience about our personalit type because we love learning about ourselves and the ones talking love well, talking, i know we all love that lol
and if this comment only has any ammount of views thats not divisible by ten then technically you could prove me wrong about my 90% number since For EXample: lets say theres only 7 views on this comment, no matter how many are entp or not, the closest to 90% you could get would be like 85.7% so yes, "technically" you could theoretically prove me wrong there, but this also banks whether you can see how many views it has and i dont think you can edit: I dont think you can, but maybe an external website could do the trick, im not gonna try, could not be bothered, but if you want to lol
I've actually taste the workings of an ENTP's mind to crack a test that has been for quite a while impossible to crack for my state in my specific line of studies. The Renaissance man part is kind of the main ingredient to it. The test is a huge amalgamation of interdisciplinary MCQ based questions and that's why it's so hard to maneuver oneself across the test. Now for an ENTP this is more than just a test. It's a maze. And there is a pattern, a system so to speak. People come into the exam hall without a plan and hope whatever it is they read is sufficient. But for the Entp, everything happens within the exam hall, and no prior preparation for the exam is entirely necessary. Entp you'll find that they'll be able to talk about almost any subject atleast on a big picture level, maybe bot in-depth but certainly on a surface level. That is the first key to interdisciplinary exams. Now their other functioning helps them see through patterns more fluidly and crack what is the most likely option based on elimination and association to prior knowledge, limited as they may be. Couple these with the attempt at understanding what the exam question creator's psychology is, I finally did it. It baffles people and they think I really know stuff, but in reality I don't know shit lmao. I only exploit a certain system and received a huge amount of stipend/scholarship off of it lol...
It hasn’t necessarily been stated but I also believe the amount of subjects ive delved into and, subsequently, im somewhat knowledgeable in (as an ENTP) is definitely responsible for all the friends i make. The more you know the more you are susceptible to meet someone that is interested in something you are/have been interested in. Great to have conversations (and to learn more things abt the subject too)!
I'm an INFJ and I'm absolutely in love with ENTPs. I seem to almost universally like them (even if I hate them I love them, love/hate relationship) I dated one for 4 years. quite literally the most intelligent and capable person I'd ever met. very polymath, charming, hilarious, flirty, funny sense of humor. it's true what they say about the ENTP INFJ match. I also love INTJs though. INTJ and ENTP are my fav 2 types. both satisfy different cravings I have as an INFJ.
ENTP here, thanks for the upload and teaching me a new thing about myself, Autodidact... its nice to have a solid concept to explore the way I've been living my life. Cheers
There is a lot here that really resonated with me (ENTP/ENFP). Being an engineer with too many hobbies, the opportunities to learn something new is always a distraction, both in personal and professional life.
I am 73 years old. I have a Masters in European Intellectual history but was unhappy with graduate school. So I spent a year afterwards reading by myself which is when I really learned. I then became a Journalist which I became dissatisfied with when I realized the limits of human nature. Then I was a visual artist and sculptor for many years bridging mind to body. I am now a body worker (a Rolfer) and recently did a Yourtube video on HG Wells and plan a series. I am an ENTP who can see relationships from every kind of field related to one another because the ENTP has a vision which is Wholistic.
I think this video perfectly exemplifies the keyword 'Multifaceted' which the famous typology youtuber Michael Pierce used to describe ENTPs. The following are some of the keywords he used to describe certain types ENTJ- Subjugation INTJ - Visionary INTP - Abstracting ENTP- Multifaceted ENFJ- Persuasion INFJ- Idealism INFP- Dreamer ISTJ- Solidifying ESTJ- Responsibility ISTP - Mastery
I love Michael Pierce's videos, in fact the main desire I had when started to make videos on here was to do something similar to his series on the 16 types, such brilliant and poetic descriptions of each type! ~ Nathan
I can identify as an ENTP. I studied 3 different Bachelors, started a Master, worked in 5 Tech Start Ups, will start my own Company. I love to play devils advocate and crushing every concept / idea, which I will get in my hands. On the other hand Since 4 years I didn't write my final thesis of my Bachelors. 😭..🤦🏽♀️😂 All of my friends say that I am a mysterium, because of discrepancy between obvious potential and missing drive for perfection / get Things Done. They describe it as unpredictable but this is certain. Next stop India. At the Moment I am learning kannada(Indian language). In Love&Hate relationship with myself. Frank(27)
Wow, this is an awesome comment/description!! The notion of "unrealised potential" is definitely something that plagues ENTPs however luckily for them, they have significantly more potential to begin with than most types ~ Nathan

I can relate to this... except for college. I thought about it but decided that I could learn everything I wanted to on my own for a lot less money. I couldn't argue with myself too much over that one. Plus, I was worried that I would be smarter than all of the teachers and make them look bad. Just kidding!

Of course, another ENTP here! Gonna list a few of my traits. 1. Rarely start from scratch on a subject as I feel my intuition has the basics covered and dive into the deep end. 2. Possibly have a "slight" problem controlling my urges and welcome numbing agents all too regularly. 3. Excel in occupation (I'm a broker) and I prefer to indulge in good, fun company instead of "networking". It's possible that paying for others feeds my ego also but lunacy nurtures my soul. Money hasn't changed my temperament like I thought it would (i grew up with a single mother in gov housing). I'm still the overanalyzer who would bicker for hours to get my point set in stone with a stranger, instead of simply leaving a disagreement and moving on. 4. Unlikely to be contactable at the will of others. I tend to see messages and respond at my leasure (unless in the initial obsessive state of a relationship). I will however feel genuinely offended if I don't get a reply soon enough when I reach out to someone 😅 5. Likes the idea of a lifelong partner and don't want to break up, but truth be told I'll be bored soon enough and will scratch my itch elsewhere while still expecting loyalty on their part... Maybe I need to subcategorize myself further after finding personality type. Perhaps I'm an ENTP narcissist? Maybe we share similar if not exact characteristics. Either way I welcome your replies and look forward to the debate ;-)
lmao can totally relate to the inconsistent views, I've been watching you guys for the last 2 years but would frequently get absorbed into different niches of youtube from time to time. I'm currently binging these along with binging paleontology documentaries (pbs eons for the win).
TH-cam seems to have least ENTP videos. I really love your explanations as an ENTP myself. Going about life seeing other's point of views, it feels good when someone else figures me/entps out too! Thank you so much
INTPs - you guys have your own flavor. Stop trying to take this video from us and apply it to yourselves, to be blunt. You guys have similar but separate strengths.
We aint tryin😂😘. Yeah we have separate strengths and maybe the patterns in this video don't apply to all INTPs, but they do to a lot of us. It may be a question of magnitude and situational dependency as to when an ENTP does these better, but at the end of the day most everything Nathan said is just Ti and Ne interplay and can be done by an INTP perfectly well too.
I don’t really care too much for the I/E dimension as they can vary circumstantially, and through the lifespan, and/or so many people are not strongly biased in either direction. Once your development is complete both types have the same functions, and can develop the ability to use them relatively similarly. The order of development can vary between individuals within type too. Various factors (aptitude, family support or lack thereof, general intelligence/attention, no need vs need to get an advanced degree) could drive an ENTP to be more Fe dominant and neglect Ti and be more of a popular joker type, and another one to be Ne Ti dom or even Ti Ne dom as an INTP and then bring in the Fe later. I kinda described myself with the latter, but actually I had good jokes early on too. (Not just saying it without proof, it says so in my elementary school yearbook description ;)) But I was, and still am the highest order nerd possible. Career nerd, in fact. And not 24 old. Old old. Nobody has the corner on anything basically. I know quite a few ENFPs or suspected ENFPs who aren’t dissimilar to this style. And when you can get and INFJ out of their shell too, they can be a cousin of this. I thought it was funny that there’s tons of conversations were happening. But then I think it’s funnier that I ended up going on about my life to some kids on the Internet when I should be working instead 🤦🏻♀️😂
@@9SMTM6 INTPs pay way too much attention on the Ti systems they have codified in their Si. This makes them much more reluctant to entertain new ideas and perspectives. Some of them might even wrongly employ a logical framework just to shoot down the idea. They also don't tend to follow the trail of idea to the end, preferring instead to confine it's utility within the particular problem. Another thing I have noticed is that they approach a new problems by sifting it through their logical system rather than taking it on its own terms.
I am an ENTP-T. The portrayal of the ENTP with a polymath is indispensable and excellent. There is a specific reason why the personality of the ENTP is called a debater. In a conversation, the ENTP has the intellectual greed to join in the conversation. So within the conversation, the ENTP uses his opportunity and intention. This intention to lead the conversation and add to its information is the main need for which the ENTP is directed and guided. From the experience the ENTP has gained about the conversations, he feels a need for more information to add more to another conversation of the same kind. It is precisely this process that leads the ENTP to acquire stimuli on new topics from several conversations. As a result, the ENTP wants to gather a lot of information from that specific topic area to enrich the next conversation. Thus, the ENTP accumulates its wealth of knowledge over countless conversations. Need Problem of an ENTP: - The main need of an ENTP to give perfection to a conversation forces him to make links from the collected information in order to in turn complete the conversation.
Could just be my favorite ENTP video ever. Very accurate with just enough light-hearted banter. The ending is the creme de la creme, a backhanded compliment befitting ENTPs.
As an ENTP I just want to meet people who know more than me so I can learn and have convos while I'm just listening. But always ended up joining the convo cuz I know what they talking about lol
the world would collapse from too many but would be boring with not enough. order gets boring and chaos can be too much. however, I would prefer chaos to order any day. I am also supposed to be writing something right now so a lack of ability to concentrate is true. ENTP here as far as I know.
All the points you mentioned are exactly ones I acquired one after another over time, there’s actually a logical hierarchy to get them. At least it stands true for myself.
going into this stuff hurts, when i was in school we did a careers/IQ test to be recommended what we should do in university, i got high in all categories, almost 100% in pattern recognition, and they told me i could just do whatever but all my friends got actual concrete ideas of what to do. Now that i’ve graduated i’ve already swapped majors, dropped out of university, become and artist, started farming - in one year. My parents and friends don’t look down on me because they don’t think i’m stupid, but they worry about me because i can’t stick to anything, and every time i say “no this is the thing, this is what i’m meant to do” and two months later i can’t be motivated by it at all anymore. I also can’t stand authority figures telling me what to do, i prefer to learn on my own or just swap interests as soon as whoever’s teaching me tries to lock me into one direction. Can ANYONE tell me how i can be useful like this because i want to be functional and appreciated even though i’m not consistent at all. please help me
As ENTP, I empathize with the first part of your story. I also excelled in all areas at school, which made it difficult to decide on what to study. Yet I also have the habit of never giving up, as it would be a sign of weakness. So, even though I started dreading my study halfway, I still graduated and got my M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. To satisfy my new interests, I started a second study in Chemical Engineering, specialized in oil refining, yet when I graduated, I had already decided that oil refining was not my cup of tea, so I ended up working in the synthetic fiber industry. I’ve been in different roles, in different countries and industries, in engineering, sales & marketing. Even though I disliked certain roles, I persisted in those roles for a couple of years and tried making the most of it. I also learned to speak 5 languages along the way, yet I don’t consider this as particularly exceptional. People say I’m too hard on myself, yet I think this is what being an ENTP is about. My career has not been very successful until recently, as I always ended up accomplishing other things than my annual goals prescribed. I am in a happy place now in my current role as Innovation Director for a healthcare company, also because I’m engaging colleagues with different MBTI in my team to compensate my weaknesses. All the intellectual bagage I picked up along the way - seemingly unrelated for non-ENTP - are all working in my favor now. I see patterns from past experiences, and apply them to new fields. Our natural curiosity & broad interest in the world around us, helps the ENTP to loo at a problem with less bias and multiple perspectives. My advice to you would be to not give up too easily on things you have started & always try to finish it! The hardship of owning up to the choices you make in life will be quickly forgotten when you successfully close it off and move to the next adventure. And when you look in the rearview mirror, you start to appreciate those past experiences more, as you will always learn a few things from it that come in handy at future challenges. Hope this helps! 🤗

Love these ENTP videos. So many things I've wondered about growing up, wondering if something was wrong with me (short attention span, excitement for many things, etc.). Interesting that all of these things are defining the ENTP. Feeling less worried about this now :)
I agree that self-learning and learning by doing are very valuable and I enjoy these methods. Where I run into trouble is staying motivated long enough to gain true competency. I think that is why the externally provided structure of more traditional learning methods can be quite necessary for a lot of people.
I think when people want to be INTJ because they think it's cool, really what most people would like to be is an ENTP. It sounds healthier and a lot less lonely! ;-)
I know very well that I am an INTP, but there are moments when I feel like I might be borderline ENTP, just because of the way my Extraverted Intuition can sometimes override my better Ti judgements and lead me to do things that don't seem very logical. I am obsessed with independence and autonomy (which is IMO an Ni trait).

we're charming because we literally have no option but to be. ever sit in a room with an ENTP that feels comfortable with you? you'll HATE us after a while. we enjoy confrontation, debate, talking fast, and it takes us decades to develop sympathy (not empathy. we have tons of that). suffice it to say, we're not exactly likable. so we learn to be charming. it's not our damned fault everything we enjoy or default to pisses off literally every other type.

~ENFP

I don't necessarily agree. With tertiary Fe, social harmony is a pretty important thing for ENTP. However unlike INTP's with their inferior Fe for example, ENTP's are not afraid to break social harmony but they can do so in a calm and diplomatic way unlike INTP's.

Ayyy I was once told by someone "no matter what happens you'll always be last chair" for band. I practiced and got better than him. I hate losing
You are definitely an ENTP. I don't think the INTP dabbles in so many interests at once? I'm going by my ENTP husband and INTP daughter.
Like!!
same for pretty much all of this so far
The “A student” Part- Mannn- Hell yes- I’m seen by my teachers as a role model student. Truth is, I can barely focus on my school work, I still manage some how and if you ask my friends, They’ll tell you I’m hella loud and crazy yet smart, So, I relate to this quite well :)
"stereotypical know it all random douchebag with no morals"
It's just like hit me like a brick, because it is true tho.
We explore all kinds of random shit
I am probably a bigger trouble maker than you
I love the exact same kinds of games you do; chess, battle royales, exploration games (like zelda), terraria, etc.
Thanks for not depicting ENTPs as jack of all trades, master of none! I like the idea of the Venn diagram haha!
Glad you enjoyed it. Also yes I try to avoid some of the more cliche descriptions that are floating around ~ Nathan
Potential fun fact: The saying used to be jack of all trades and master of one.
ENTPs are definitely a jack of all trades and a master of one. We always find that one thing we really love so much and are very good at.
It’s the ENFP that is the jack of all trades and master of none. ENTPs can specialize in one or master in many!
There is a quote by Miyamoto Musashi that really rings with me
"There is more than one way up the mountain"
In my Entp way added a line to it because it felt incomplete 😎
"There is more than one way up the mountain but depending on the conditions certain ways are more favourable than the others"
In my ENTP way, I questioned:
"Define Mountain."
Entps are inconsistent 🥴, nothing new
Great work 🤟
Indeed! thank you!! ~ Nathan
Fun fact: And obviously entps love this emoji 🥴!... i have an entp friend and his most used emoji by far is 🥴...we even already made jokes about it 😁
@@we_heart_ice_land8354 I recently discovered this emoji , and I can't stop using it . It's just means we already know it . And Entps know a lot of things 🥴.
There is another problem with us we have like 5-6 emojis that comes up as suggestions. And obviously 🥴 I being lethargic to find the right one , I use this.

I was reading a NASA report about the characteristics of managers they have, one section was about MBTI and here are the types that become project managers in order of frequency:
ENTP, ENTJ, ISTJ, INTJ, ENFP
ENTPs are by far the most successful.
My ENTP is way too "P" to be a manager! They have all the best ideas though.
you need an ISTJ here and there, to make sure things don't get stuck because of a lack of motivation.
Yes, but isn't it a little frustrating that we can't learn absolutely everything?
@@malloryo.4782 That's why you learn core nuggets of everything and then cross-reference and interpolate the details based on known patterns.
Martin Scorsese is masterful ENTP movie director!
idk if this is weird but as a kid I remember being a lot above my reading level and reading the Hunger Games in elementary school.

@@lovewho yeah it was good. I decided to start a channel on the ENTP as an ENTP . Real life experiences, thinking, everything haha.

Yes that example I think applies to ENTPs and INTPs pretty well ~ Nathan
aha, As a TH-camr myself, I do notice the views of ENTP video kinda fluctuating.

Lots of love to every ENTPs, I can't help but feeling myself drawn to people with this type (don't be an ass tho, jk)🌟🦋🌟
ENTP NATION RISE
I find it cool how we love to talk and analyze like every aspect of ourselves, we love learning and finding others who are the same way, we are so selfishly focused on us that anything that might even just add a pixel to the image we have of ourselves or something that explains or validates how we think we are interested in
Like, as long as it isn't too long or boring, I could sit here and talk about myself and how much I love the way my brain works and 90% of the people who reads this, guaranteed probably ENTP, of course you have no realistic way to disprove me (unless you do, if so thatd be awesome), ima just stick with that number
and so that 90% of entps would be so interested in another entp who is also loving that he gets to just talk about himself and have people actively listen, so I guess the main point i was getting to was we ENTPs can like feed off each other because we love learning about others experience about our personalit type because we love learning about ourselves and the ones talking love well, talking, i know we all love that lol
and if this comment only has any ammount of views thats not divisible by ten then technically you could prove me wrong about my 90% number since
For EXample: lets say theres only 7 views on this comment, no matter how many are entp or not, the closest to 90% you could get would be like 85.7%
so yes, "technically" you could theoretically prove me wrong there, but this also banks whether you can see how many views it has and i dont think you can
edit: I dont think you can, but maybe an external website could do the trick, im not gonna try, could not be bothered, but if you want to lol
There is a lot here that really resonated with me (ENTP/ENFP). Being an engineer with too many hobbies, the opportunities to learn something new is always a distraction, both in personal and professional life.
Underlying logic. What a perfect phrase.
The following are some of the keywords he used to describe certain types
ENTJ- Subjugation
INTJ - Visionary
INTP - Abstracting
ENTP- Multifaceted
ENFJ- Persuasion
INFJ- Idealism
INFP- Dreamer
ISTJ- Solidifying
ESTJ- Responsibility
ISTP - Mastery
I love Michael Pierce's videos, in fact the main desire I had when started to make videos on here was to do something similar to his series on the 16 types, such brilliant and poetic descriptions of each type! ~ Nathan

I will however feel genuinely offended if I don't get a reply soon enough when I reach out to someone 😅

Dumbledalf the Wizard Fine you poop wand user!
Need Problem of an ENTP:
- The main need of an ENTP to give perfection to a conversation forces him to make links from the collected information in order to in turn complete the conversation.

the world would collapse from too many but would be boring with not enough. order gets boring and chaos can be too much. however, I would prefer chaos to order any day. I am also supposed to be writing something right now so a lack of ability to concentrate is true. ENTP here as far as I know.
Someone has to do the actual work...
Hell no, it's only thanks to others we're able to get anything done at all.
Can ANYONE tell me how i can be useful like this because i want to be functional and appreciated even though i’m not consistent at all. please help me
if you want some guidance, try a counselor and if you need a personality test, I use www.16personalities.com :) hope this helps
Aaron doughty has helpful vids on this stuff♥️
ne: instinctive analysis, ti: exploring difficult idea fe: selftalk everyday idea. so you get this person who dont care about doing stuff, dont care verbalizing ideas, dont care observing everyday life, this entp is always in their head
Learning guitar and now also piano on my own. Thank you for this video.
Awesome! Let us know how you get on with learning those, I'm a fellow self taught musician. I upload some music on my personal channel 'Nathan Glass' ~ Nathan
Love these ENTP videos. So many things I've wondered about growing up, wondering if something was wrong with me (short attention span, excitement for many things, etc.). Interesting that all of these things are defining the ENTP. Feeling less worried about this now :)
“...they also can be... charming bastards!” This sounds familiar! 😂
It seems to be the case with all ENTPs for some reason! ~ Nathan
Another great vid. I'll send it to my ENTP's. Thanks!
Awesome! Glad you liked it and thank you very much for sharing it ~ Nathan
I'm already subscribed, buddy, but keep producing these. I find them very flattering to my ego.
You should make a video absolutely roasting entps
You know...I have have a series on my to do list that is similar to that ~ Nathan
@@lovewho Please do this. Us ENTP's would get more out of it than anyone
I agree that self-learning and learning by doing are very valuable and I enjoy these methods. Where I run into trouble is staying motivated long enough to gain true competency. I think that is why the externally provided structure of more traditional learning methods can be quite necessary for a lot of people.
I love you videos! It will be great if you make the ENTJ version as well🙏
Ah yes I certainly will! ~ Nathan
I think when people want to be INTJ because they think it's cool, really what most people would like to be is an ENTP. It sounds healthier and a lot less lonely! ;-)
Finally an ENTP video. Sheesh! lol
I know I know, must do better ~ Nathan
i am an INFP and i know absolutely no ENTPs, but i can't stop watching these videos.
Dev Agrawal yea, because you have Ni critic
intp here, independence and autonomy probably the most important aspects of life
I feel borderline INTP 97% of the time, so... excuse me while I go hole up somewhere and avoid the outside world for a week. :)
My son is an INTP and when he and myself ( ENTP Mom) get together and talk the observers always ask if we are the same personality type. They say my son is “exactly like his mother” LOL!
i have trouble watching anyone talk on youtube for more than a minute, but you were really interesting and i just kept watching all your videos :)
Please upload more entp vids. I honestly think that there's a lack of entp contents huhu
Yes agree! So many types so little time!! ~ Nathan
I really appreciate the deep concepts you raise and the way you paint them before our eyes, very artistic! I enjoy watching them so learning alot brother! Thank you!
An entp soul😁
