I visited South America back in 2018. I was so shocked that I started crying, when I saw the vast amount of Afro-indigenous people in most areas, because I realized that my American education had failed me. The African diaspora spreads far and wide and we have to do a better job of understanding and preserving our rich history and culture everywhere. Great video.

@Damsen I agree that the lower the number the less likely will the problem surge across the nation. But this doesn't always apply from the meso - and exo perspective in which it can be problem for any individual of the few. Once the very society you're in treats you as if you're're not equal. I'm in Germany and would love to ask as many bi racial Argentines as possible for a different perspective.

Yes I lived in Buenos Aires Argentina for nearly 10 years. As an African-American male I was awe struck by the history of Argentina. Even in television versions of the Argentina 🇦🇷 fight for freedom from Spain that showed Afro-Argentinans fighting in the Argentina 🇦🇷 army. And I felt no racism or bigotry in my time in Argentina and I traveled all over Argentina. I first went to Argentina in 2005. I purchased a home in Mar Del Plata.

Historically there has been an invisible line that has segregated Jamaican music and other Latin dance styles. But that line was breached in Panama, a country with a significant Jamaican population that had migrated south to work on the Panama Canal in the early 20th century.
There's a heated debate about whether reggaeton originated in Panama or Puerto Rico. While it seems obvious that the roots are Panamanian, some of the best known (and earliest) purveyors of today's reggaeton sounds come from Puerto Rico, so the confusion is easily understood."

Yes they were bred out/wiped out from interbreeding with the "White/Pale/European" immigrants and from being put on the front lines for wars... @d puski Not necessarily. What white countries are you talking about with mass migration of blacks? In Europe it's mainly France and the UK. They are the most powerful and advanced countries in Europe ( Germany as well but they don't have nuclear weapons). The black migrants in the UK were practically supporting the National health service and the transport system in the U when they came in the sixties. Go look at the UK a few decades ago. It was a right dump. And as far as building a thriving civilization well that's subjective. The Carribbean island has numerous thriving civilizations. Whites overall haven't had to be dealing with Invasion, colonism, slavery on masses. Yes whites had wars but it's not like your entire continent and race was attacked. The blacks the Americas were not exactly treated equally or given the same opportunities as the average white person.

It is weird for us, argentinians, to refer to the word ''Afro-Argentines'' because for most of us it does not mather your cultural background / race, if you are born here in Argentina you are Argentinian and that's it, not Afro-Argentine, not Asian-Argentine, etc, just argentinian, that's why we could say that many in Argentina don't know about the African background, because we never separate people in races, at least for the last 200 years. Thank you for this video!

HomeTeam History thanks for your reply, Tango, Capoeira(Brasil), Mambo, Rumba, Juego de Mani( Capoeira in Cuba), Samba , Samba Carnival in Brasil.... are of Angolan/Kongo origin. Also not Congo the country but Kongo the Kingdom which it’s Capital is or was in Angola ( M’banza Kongo) - meaning city of Kongo.... Now this kingdom stretched from Cameroon 🇨🇲 all the way to Angola.... The next level of your studies should be on the similarities of Kikongo, Kimbundu,Lingala, and other Africans languages to the Hebrew..... then you will understand the connection of it all from the roots 🙏🏿

But the true roots of these cultures and linguistics are from the Americas and then spread to Africa much later in history.
The "Black" Argentinians were actually not from Africa at all.. they were American Aborignies with deep extensive culture - just like Australian Aboriginies..
There is extensive extensive documented accounts of the explorers reporting of the "Black" Aboriginies and their dynamic cultures in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay, etc...

True in America our borders were wide open but only if you were European. Actually black greatly outnumbered whites in Southern United States after slavery and 25% of Congress was black during Reconstruction which eventually was reverse by Jim Crow via KKK. They even accepted European prisoners to the US to further whiten the population.
